This was my 29th lifetime car purchase and I must say it was the best car purchase experience I've had. The salesmen, Tyler Mattson, was relaxed and non pushy. He paid attention to what I wanted and I ended up with a good deal and a great car. I absolutely love the VW CC! I coming off a 2001 BMW 325i, which is also a great car. I think the CC is more agile and handles better with the great road feel of a german car. I also have to say their finance guy Doug, did a great job getting the paper work done in the promised 20 minutes! Thanks VW of Oakland! more

This is a review for Volkswagen of Oakland- the sales department and service department.\r \r I've been leasing VW's from Volkswagen of Oakland for years; I just closed my 5th lease recently. I have a 2013 Tiguan (my 2nd Tiguan) and I love it. It's beautiful and exactly what I wanted (it drives much smoother than the 2009 model BTW for anyone with a 2009)\r \r Connie was my salesperson and she was great. She actually called me first and left a really pleasant message as my lease was getting close to being over. She reached out before I had a chance to go in. The message wasn't pushy, it was pleasant and made me want to call back. We set an appointment to meet. She was friendly, she listened to what was important to me and showed me cars. We went on a test drive and discussed price. The car I got was exactly what I wanted but actually had a couple of things on it that I wasn't looking for (like Navigation) and she was able to make the price work anyway.\r \r Doug handled our finance paperwork and he was extremely friendly, knowledgable and even helped us get an extra year of warranty even though I didn't ask for it. Although like any car experience, we had to wait a little bit to get to this point, We were offered coffee and ate snacks w/Connie while waiting for things to be finalized. Doug was able to get through things pretty quickly and still explain everything so we felt good about the papers we were signing. \r \r They both walked us out to the new car and helped get the bluetooth set up.\r It was great service and we found it to be really easy and enjoyable.\r \r As for the service department, I've been in there for my past 4 cars for regular maintainance and the occassional fix that is needed. I usually go in early and just bring work to do in the showroom vs getting a ride home and picking up my car later. I've never had any issues- it's usually not too terribly long of a wait and my car gets worked on.\r \r I'm really happy with my most recent experience at Volkswagen of Oakland-- I can't imagine not having a good experience with Connie and Doug\r \r I'd recommend it. If you've had car experiences that were not great in the past and are considering a VW....give Connie a call to set up an appointment. Hopefully your experience will be the same as mine! more

I was on my way to work and unfortunately got a flat tire . Fortunately Volkswagen of Oakland was right around the corner. I stopped in to see prices on a new tire. To my surprise they had my tire in stock. I had previously called three or four businesses trying to find my style tire and they didn't have it. I was about to give up but finally found Volkswagen of Oakland. I have an Acura integra 98, and for them to carry a large selection tires was great. They also mentioned that they service all makes of vehicles! That was a huge plus. All in all i got a great price, and im pretty set on going back if i need anything else. Thank you to the service department! You guys really helped me out in a pinch. 5 stars! Really surprised you guys had my style tired. Goodyear and big o fidnt carry them and couldn't even order it. Glad i went there! more

As a first time buyer, I really can't imagine having had a better experience! I had shopped online and knew exactly what I wanted; a 2013 GTI with navigation. I called ahead to let them know I'd be coming in to check it out, and all were helpful from there. I arrived at the dealership, was greeted immediately, announced myself as the one who had called earlier, and was taken directly to see the car. From there, the process was seamless; test drive, Q&A, finance department waiting game, paperwork/signing my life away, new car!\r \r Again, given this was my first time going through this entire process, I couldn't have asked for a better team to assist me through it. My salesman, Kris, was personable and friendly. He kept the small talk light while waiting for the finance department to get things set up, and wasn't pushy at any point of the transaction.\r \r I'm absolutely in love with my new car, and am so thankful to Kris and the team at Oakland VW for taking me through my very first purchase! more

I have had such a great experience at VW of Oakland. I bought my VW bug 5 yrs ago after doing a lot of research, and continue to take my car in for regular maintenance and repairs when needed. I bought a 2009 Honda Civic last week and everyone was great! Ryan, Nick, Howard, and Dave were all friendly and accommodating. I just bought my second GTI from this dealership for the same reason I bought my first one -- they take care of me. \r \r Sales: I decided to trade in my older (2009) GTI for a newer one and had a very positive experience. Chris and Connie listened to my preferences and concerns and were able to find me the perfect car with everything I wanted. When it came down to actually purchasing the car, Doug worked hard to accommodate my budget constraints which led to me getting a fantastic deal on my car. \r \r Service: I love everyone in Service! The technicians are personable, very knowledgeable and not afraid to interact w/ customers with any questions they have. \r \r Over all: Given my experience w/ both Sales and Service, I keep coming back because they make the time consuming process of purchasing/servicing a car easier to endure by making sure I'm comfortable and have everything I need. To me, customer service isn't holding my hand.. it's offering it. more

5 stars for their service department. Brought my wife's red beetle in that had an issue. Alan Ng took care of me and service was just as good as a year ago. Nothing changed, they do what they can to help out. Hope their whole team is on par. more

Had a great test drive today with Tolao. He's extremely knowledgable about VWs - you'd think that would be a given for a car salesman but more times than not we've been the one educating the salesman. My hubby is a car guy - we've owned many cars but he reads up and knows his stuff about most other cars. Tolao was able to tell him a few things he didn't already know - I think that's a first for us with car salesman. No pressure, easy going manner made for a great experience. We hope he locates the car we want (we're very particular re: color/features) because we'd love him to have our business! more

Allow me to say that I foolishly avoided the VW dealership service because of really horrible treatment we received in Georgia. But the moment I walked in, Matt immediately took care of helping me. I felt that he was patient, communicative, clear, and understood our situation. He followed up repeatedly and I was incredibly impressed with the level of customer care I received.
