I could not say enough good things about Dr. Volker!! He performed a hysterectomy on me last year and I literally had NO pain! I was walking the hallways that same afternoon and had an almost painless healing process. He performed my surgery in front of over 200 doctors that had come to learn his technique. Also one of the nurses in recovery told me that his patients are always in the best shape after surgery. Dr. Volker is very caring and I would definitely recommend him!! more

Had gone to Dr. Vennart (office on Tenaya) for a while. Decided to have a hysterectomy done by a special surgeon. Apparently this made Dr. V upset, because he chewed me out for 5-10 minutes! My surgery went perfectly, so I don't know what his problem was. Went back to him for regular care, guess he's mad he didn't get the fee! I made a separate appointment with the PA for a yeast infection caused by anitbiotics. Cost me $225 to get the $5 rx to fix it! They forgot about me in the waiting room - I went to ask what was going on after sitting for an hour and seeing other people called in. I had signed in when I got there, and they found my sign in slip, but oops, they forgot to put me in the que. Sorry about that - we'll get you right back. 30 minutes later, after 5 other patients went in before me, they got me back. Then it took forever to check out because there was only 1 check out person and the 2 receptionists sitting on their butts doing nothing. Called when I got my bill to ask about it; left three messages, no one called back. Called and asked for the office manager, it took him 1 WEEK to return my phone call. He's new. No, he couldn't help me with my bill - that's what the insurance paid - I said I understand that but your service sucked. Can you adjust the bill for your sucky service? No. Can't do that. In fact, he said that their wait times have become worse than before because they're so busy. I won't go back. Save yourself the trouble and don't go there in the first place!! This doctor seemed caring at my first consult. He suggested surgery to correct a condition which affects many menopausal women. He used mesh in this surgery and it was placed inproperly. I could feel a corner of the mesh myself protruding from tissue a month after the surgery. He of course could not see or feel what I was complaining about. I went in again to have him check the mesh. I waited two hours in the waiting room and then was told he had been called out of the office for an emergency. I was asked if I would like to see another Doctor. I said ""Of course not this visit is in regards to surgery he did!"" I finally got a second opinion on the surgery that he performed and was told that the surgery he performed was not one that should have been done using mesh!!! I had to have the mesh taken out and the surgery redone. The whole anatomy has changed now and I am left ruined for the rest of my years!!!!! Pros: NONE! Cons: Ruined anatomy!! more

I live in CA, but travel to Las Vegas often for work. My sister is a patient of Dr. Volker's, and after years of switching doctors in California, I finally decided to give him a try. He is the most patient and caring doctor that I have ever encountered. If you complain about the wait, it is only because Dr. Volker takes the time to listen and empathize with you when it is YOUR turn to be seen. I have been to see doctors where the wait was shorter, but once it was my turn in the room with my doctor, I always felt like a number rather than a patient. It is already uncomfortable to be sitting there in that paper gown, have some compassion for goodness sake! And he does!! Dr. Volker cares about each and every one of his patients. more

I found Dr. Kelly to be smart and caring. Wait times can be very long to talk to a receptionist. Waiting room times averages around 1 hour. Front office staff did lose some of my confidential paperwork. The office staff could use more training, but Dr. Kelly is absolutely wonderful. Pros: Office is located at Summerlin Hospital. Cons: Hard to get a appt. and long wait times. more

I was referred to Dr. Volker from my primary physician due to gyn problems. Dr. Volker is wonderful and I always feel completely comfortable with him! There may be parking problems and a wait in his office (b/c others also think he is a great Dr.); however, the quality care, time, and attention he provides during my appt. make it all worthwhile! I've referred several family members to him and they all love him too! Dr Volker from the start has by far blown me away with his superb bedside manners.\r The fact that Dr Volker is very personable & treats you as though you are an extremely important patient is worth the wait in the waiting room. What can I say only that he cares to take all the time needed for each individual patient based on their needs. He is simply the best & I will NEVER go to another OB even if I had to wait 5 hours each visit. I have been to 3 different OB's for just one high risk pregnancy none can compare. Dr. Voker is by far the BEST! I highly recommend him for all high risk pregnancy cases.\r Pros: The greatest OB period! Cons: long wait but worth it! more

I would not recommend this doctor at all. The wait in his office is really long, like over an hour and half each time. I showed up twice only to be told, he wasn't available and could I please reschedule or wait to see another doctor. Very inconsiderate to make a sick, bed ridden 8 month pregnant woman in the middle of the summer turn around and go home without being seen. They could have called. He knew I was petrified of having another csection since my 1st one was a diaster (i could feel them cutting me) and he promised he would be there to make sure I was completely numb for it and would talk me through it. Only to find out, he KNEW he was going to be on vacation but scheduled my csection with another doctor at the office (who was wonderful by the way, Dr. Hart) and I didn't find out until the day I showed up for the csection he wouldn't be there. He didn't seem to be very compassionate or listen very well. He would nod and smile but he didn't care. He seemed over worked and tired, not remembering a thing about me at each visit, hello? read the chart. I thought he was a horrible doctor and I would never recommend him. I know doctors are busy but they need to take some time with their patients, just because surgery is everyday for them, doesn't mean we are comfortable with it. He said he would be there and he wasn't. I asked to talk to him when I was in the hospital when he was on the phone with the nurse to ask him a question and he said he couldn't talk to me. He never once checked on me after Ryan was born and said ""how is your little girl"" at my 6 week check up. I had a boy!!!! I just didn't like him at all!!!!!!!!!! more

Dr. Volker is the most caring doctor I have ever been to. After years of trying to become pregnant we had all but given up. We then went to see Dr. Volker and he determined that the problem was not my husband but me. He quickly came up wit a solution and 1 month later I was pregnant. Then while being pregnant I was having a few issues and he always made me feel like I was the only person on his list of thing to do that day. He made sure I was taken care of and that my baby was safe. I then gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I would never see anyone but Dr. Volker again. He makes me smile every time we talk. I was scared to death the day I was giving birth and he hand my hand in the operating room until I stopped crying. Not many other doctors out there care as much as he does. Thanks for being such a great guy. You are well worth the wait! Pros: Cares about you and only you when you are being seen. Cons: Wait time is long but his service is worth the wait. more

Dr. Volker is my 2nd OBGYN and he is definately much better with his ""bedside manner"" than the other OB I had. I was referred to Dr. Volker after getting pregnant through IVF. My fertilty doctor recommended him highly. From the first meeting he was always very caring and nice and since this was our first child and we had waited several years to even get pregnant he did extra ultra sounds and let us have lots of pictures of our baby. In January I went in for a routine check up. The day of the check up I had been cramping all day. I told the nurse (who by the way is very unprofessonal by saying ""its probably nothing"") about the cramping. She left and when Dr. Volker came in I told him about the cramping. He checked me, only to find out I was dialated 4 cm. He had me check into the hospital that afternoon and they were unable to stop the contractions and I had my baby that night. He was 2 months early but he was healthy and beautiful. When I went in 10 days later for a check up, Dr. Volker had me sit on the table and lay back then he took out his heartbeat monitor, and tried to find the baby's heart beat. I looked at him funny and he said, ""I can't get the heart beat"". I said, ""my heart beat?"" He had a funny look on his face then said ""no the baby's heart beat."" I said, ""I had the baby..."" Then it dawned on him....""oh yeah, you had him early. I have another woman that looks just like you."" I felt so forgotten. I know he has hundreds of patients, but doesn't he update his records?? I mean one week I come in with a swollen belly and the next week a smaller belly and about 20 pounds lighter. Other than that specific incident, Dr. Volker has always been friendly and professional. I would recommend him if you like waiting months to get an appointment and waiting in the office at least an hour before being seen. Dr. Volker became my #4 OBGYN after I switched 3 doctors within 3 years. Finally I was referred to Dr. Volker and found him to be a very professional and caring individual, highly respected by patients and their families. My condition was taken care of, he has good hands and my recovery after laparoscopy was a breeze. I'd recommend him to everyone, he can be trusted. Dr. Volker is always booked up and wait time is long, but once you are in, you are taken care of without any hurry and very personably. He listens, explains, answers all questions. I believe he is committed to provide the best care, and his stuff is very efficient. As far as I know, he is the only doctor in Las Vegas trained to use laser for laparoscopy which gives him an advantage to perform more useful things during the surgery with minimal side effects . If you have a problem below the waist, particularly endometriosis, THIS is the man you need to see. I have been a cancer therapist for 20 years and have worked alongside numerous MD's in that period of time. I pretty sure I can sort through the dumb-dumbs and align myself with the genius's. This man is one. He rescued me from what would have been a disasterous abdominal hysterectomy with complications for years to come afterwards due to numerous bowel adhesions, engorged uterus and prolapsed rectum, bladder. (I had been passed around from Dr to Dr for 8 years complaining of terrible period pain and difficulty going to the bathroom, heavy bleeding, etc). He miraculously was able to do the whole procedure LAPAROSCOPICALLY (he actually teaches OTHER doctors HIS techniques) with a 1 cm scar as the only evidence of my extensive surgery!! I found him on the endometriosis society of north america's website, and was I glad I did my homework. Hyster sister's is another great website to do research and talk to other women about this subject. I drove in from a different state and had to pay higher cost due to the fact that he was out of my network, but was it worth it. I feel like I am 20 years old again, and have absolutely NO complications, which was miraculous considering I was Stage 4! Thank -you Dr. Volker.
