Perfect Pups!! 1/3/2011

I love this place and the babies they sell!! I woke up one Sunday morning wanting a red toy poodle and knew of this place from the past and called them right away with a description of a pup that I wanted to purchase. I love this store because you can make custom requests of your ideal perfect puppy and they will get it without a problem from a breeder (no puppy mill). So you're not obligated to choose from only the puppies they have in the store, which is really great. So I called and they told me they can get a red toy poodle if I wanted but they had a red toy poodle that changed to an apricot color and they emailed the pictures to me right away of him, which was very convenient being that I live in the Bronx. As soon as I received the email I fell in love and rushed to the store within 2 hours to see him in person. When I walked into the store he was already out in a playpen happily playing around. Ten minutes with him and I knew he had to be an addition to my family with his new name, ""Marley"". Mike was very down to earth and made the purchase of Marley very comfortable and at ease. He explained everything with patience and care. I was even more happy with the free health care for Marley with Bayside Clinic right down the block from Vanity Pups. Vanity Pups covers a few visits and it really helps. Marley got all the shots and care he needs for the year, and all for free. I love this place for the simple fact that when you make a puppy purchase with them, it's as if you're also purchasing warranty and guarantee of a healthy happy puppy, every penny is well worth spent when you go to Vanity Pups. I am now looking into purchasing another puppy from Vanity Pups for a friend for Marley. more

Very bad grooming service 12/23/2010

I brought my baby there for grooming since i read so much geat review about this place. It was absolutely my mistake thinking that a place that appearently sells great puppy can care for them the same way. My dog not only came out with a hair cut that i told them NOT to use. I was charged extra cause of *matted* hair. AND his paws were bleeding. NEVER AGAIN will i bring my baby back there. more

BIRTHDAY GIFT 12/22/2010

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!! MY BOYFRIEND WANTED TO SURPRISE ME WITH A PUPPY FOR MY BIRTHDAY BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PUP TO GET SO HE DECIDED TO SPILL THE BEANS AND TELL ME. HE AND HIS FRIEND HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR WEEKS PRIOR TO MY DAY FOR A PET SHOP. HE STUMBLED UPON VANITY PUPS AND LOVED THE PRESENTATION OF THE STORE. WE WENT IN ON MY BIRTHDAY(4TH) PLAYED WITH SOME PUPS AND LOOKED @ THE UPCOMING BABIES, I'M SO USED TO HAVING BIG DOGS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE BUT I DECIDED TO GET A MORKIE. I WENT BACK ON THE 13TH AND CHOSE A BLACK MALE MORKIE(BECAUSE HE WAS SO PLAYFUL) AND PICKED HIM UP ON THE 18TH. more

great return policy 12/20/2010

I was unsure if I could handle a dog because I have 5 kids . The youngest is 2. They allowed me to try the dog for a week,even though it was the week before xmas. The dog was a really great dog she was a maltese . She did not bark and was already pretty much paper trained. My 2 year old daughter thought it was adorable but I had a hard time dealing with watching them together , My daughter was not able to understand that the dog wanted to do its own thing and was not a doll . My daughter was throwing tantrums all day . At the end of the day my nanny really wanted me to give the dog back. We both felt her my daughter was not ready for a dog yet. .Michael was so understanding , He was answering my questions all day and even gave me his cell phone number. At the store I noticed the cell phone number was posted on the door so its not like I was given special treatment , He is like this with all his customers. I returned the dog and recirved a FULL refund for the dog . He even took back the opened supplies which came with the dog .When my daughter gets older I will definitly go back to this store to get a dog. more

Puppy Paradise 12/18/2010

I bought my puppy on the 14th, took him to the vet on the 16th, and am writing this review now on the 18th. I was very impressed by Vanity Pups professionalism. I found my puppy online from their website, and decided to drive over to their store in Bayside to see him. Just as the website indicated, he was still available (which means that they keep their website up-to-date), and they answered all my questions about him and had every puppy's information on record, and everything was immediately disclosed - I was amazed at how organized their system was. I played with every puppy in the store, and examined them all before making a commitment to buy my baby. They were all happy, playful, clean, and has no signs of illness (clear eyes, ears, clean teeth, clean fur, etc.). Also, every puppy comes already microchipped and are up-to-date on their shots and vet visits. I decided to buy my baby, a Shihpoo, because he looked just like my old dog who had passed away last year. I'm amazed by my puppy. He's so smart! He's quite mischievous, but he does his ""business"" on the pee pee pads, and I've had no trouble since day 1. The vet (recommended by Vanity Pups, so glad I went there, they are amazing too) told us to supplement his diet with NutriCal, to help prevent hyperglycemia, which is a risk to small breeds, which he'll take until he's 6 months old (2.5 right now). He loves it. He's also on anti-biotics for Kennel Cough (doggy cold). He's not coughing at all, but he was sneezing a little (but it's gone now, lol). The vet said it wasn't a big deal, and he's fine, I really didn't even notice it. Michael, the owner, had even told me that that might happen. I'm very happy about how knowledgeable and upfront they were with me. I'm very happy, my baby is healthy and happy, and my life is complete again. I would recommend Vanity Pups to my friends and family, and I'd go there in the future to get another pet. THANK YOU! more

Just got my yorkie yesterday 12/13/2010

I just bought my parents a Yorkie for Christmas at Vanity Pups yesterday. Michael took his time with me as I spent hours mulling over this decisions and then he took his time in explaining everything regarding my new puppy to me. I am very happy with my purchase and so far so good! The baby slept well in her crate last night and my parents were thrilled to welcome the new addition. I can't wait til she gets a bit older and gains some weight so she can play with our 7-year-old maltese. more

OMG! from the moment I walked through the door I LOVED Vanity Pups Boutique! I didnt feel as if i was in a store! I felt as if i was in an adoption agency (for babies). It was such a personal experience, I got to spend time with many pups before I was able to choose my baby, (a 5month old female yorkie). The staff was very professional and had a lot of patience with my daughter and myself. The ambiance is amazing! I love how cute and chic the store is set up, and I loved how the puppies were in cribs instead of in cages behind plexi glass. Overall great experience. I highly recommed Vanity Pups Boutique. more

On a hot day in July, my mom and I were shopping when I pulled over the car and told her I wanted to show her this really neat pet shop. I had been there before to look around. I walked in and explained to Laura the kind of dog I was interested in for the future, but financially, was not really ready at the moment. We sat down and she brought these two adorable puppies to play with, and they were so playful and full of life. My mom and I immediately fell in love, especially, with the one black Shih-poo with a tuxedo look, so precious. I could not resist, I put a down payment on her, asked my family, and the next day came back for her. I cannot tell you how much joy she has brought our family! Her name is Shinobi, my boys named her after a ninja on an old video game. She was immediately comfortable with us and never gave us a day of trouble. She never cried or anything. Michael and Laura took good care of me at time of purchase and took alot of time to explain everything, which I really appreciated. I liked the idea that they feed their puppies Hollistic all-natural food, which they sell there too. They strongly believe in good-healthy foods for your dog. With my puppy purchase, I also received some inclusive vet costs if u went to one of the suggested places, which I did, and am completely satisfied. They performed thorough examinations. Vanity Pups also provide grooming services, and offer 20% off forever if u purchased ur pooch from them. I thought that was great! I go back to the store all the time to purchase toys, food, etc. The pups are always so well taken care of and everyone is very friendly and helpful. It is so nice to see the puppies all interacting freely instead of piled on top of eachother in cages! Shinobi's great disposition proves that it is a great environment! Thanks to Vanity Pups professional services, they made our experience a great one! Would highly recommend them. more

About two weeks ago, we purchased our baby Max from Vanity Pups. Before going, we did plenty of research because we didn't want to purchase from a place where they mistreat their puppies...THIS IS UNLIKE ANY PET SHOP! Vanity Pups fosters a loving environment for their beautiful babies. They allow you to play with the puppies before buying so you can see their personalities. Michael was very patient, answered all of our questions, and was not pushy at all. Max is very healthy and happy!! We are elated with the new addition to the family! more

I feel as tho there is a special puppy for everyone in vanity pups. I have met many people around my neighborhood who have also bought their pups at this boutique and all could not be any happier. Two more Yorkies from Vanity Pups 8/1/2010

My wife and I bought a Yorkie (Buster) roughly 4 years ago from Vanity pups. It was a great purchasing experience and the dog has been healthy, great personality and became part of the family. Recently, we decided to get a little female Yorkie. We contacted Lauren and Michael and they sent us pictures of what was available. My wife and I chose to look at a little boy and a little girl. Because we know that Vanity's dogs are healthy and they stand behind their products, dogs etc., we naturally went straight to them. We chose the little female Yorkie, but felt guilty leaving her brother behind. That being said we opted to purchase both of them. They have been home for a couple of days and went from scared little dogs at first (I would be scared too if I weighed one pound) to energetic, happy and beautiful dogs. We now have 3 Yorkies from Vanity Puppies, we have also sent friends there to buy dogs. They too have had great experiences. Anyway, we now have a 4 year old named Buster and the little female is named Meat Loaf and Lauren suggested Pork Chop for the boy. I would not hesitate to send anyone there. People are very good at complaining, so when you have the opportunity to pass along positive feedback I feel it is well deserved. Tom - Deb Pros: Service, honesty of owners, great dogs. Cons: None. Great Place 7/8/2010

Was recommended to this shop by a local pet supply shop after going to several other pet stores in the area. Was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the store, professional of the staff and the over all care of the puppies in the shop. I was looking for a female yorkshire and the staff was very helpful in helping me pick one out. The yorkie I brought home was healthy and intelligent. She was a wonderful addition to our family! They also gave me all the paperwork to register with the AKC as a purebred. I had a great experience & would recommend this place to potential puppy seekers. Helpful and a delight 5/16/2010

Well I was shopping around for quite some time, and came across Vanity Pups back in the beginning of 2009. There's one girl (Tara, Sara) I forget her name, but she has a memory like a whip. I am getting rather old, so I have a tendency to forget my own name, but she could tell me what we originally discussed in a matter of a minute to re-collect her thoughts. She is always smiling and always extremely helpful. She sold myself and a dog I really did not want, I wasn't even attracted to the pup, however I cannot thank her enough for bringing him into my life. She explained so much on breeds, sexes, pricing, the whole nine yards. I even witnessed her tell a customer that she would not sell the family the dog they were looking at because their kids were tearing the store into 2. She is very honest and I was recommended to her by a close family friend and I will continue to recommend her to other people who are looking to buy a puppy. Great service 4/26/2010

We went to several different grooming stores but every one of them had a rude receptionist or the place felt uneasy. Vanity Pups was instantly appealing to me and because my dog was so well-behaved, they offered discounts. also, when she developed dry skin, they recommended an oatmeal shampoo which instantly cleared it up.
