I went in wanting to get an ombre look and came across this salon through groupon and I'm so glad I did b/c I think I found THE salon! The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Becca was AMAZING, highly recommend her!!! =D I just love the color and cut she did for me. She really took the time to make sure every detail was catered to the look I was going for and what would suit me the best in terms of face shape, hair color, and skin tone. Being a college student, going in, I felt pricing wise it was bit of a splurge for me, but I think the end result was so worth the money spent. I'm looking forward to my next visit with this salon! more

A soulful experience 9/30/2011

Have been going to Volero for years and consider them to be an extension of our family. The haircut has always been spot on, but what sets Victor's establishment apart from the rest is more than simply the technical proficiency with which they cut, color & style; it's the atmosphere created by the staff. Rather than going the cold, impersonal, cost-cutting direction of leased chairs and pretentious, hyper-competitive personalities, Victor worked tirelessly to surround himself with peers & proteges who shared not just his vision of the craft, but an enjoyment of humanity and human interaction; employees who project Victor's characteristic passion & soulfulness. LOVE LOVE LOVE BECCA! 9/19/2011

Becca is so good!! She gets my hair so close to the root and does excellent blonde!! I love her! I am super picky about my hair and used to drive 4 hours to get my hair done by my old hairdresser. Three of their staff members spent 15 minutes picking the best color of blonde for my hair! I feel spoiled when I go in there! It is Lake Oswego and it is expensive, thats the only downfall. But you will be happy with your hair and you won't have to get it done as often because of how good she is. This salon is amazing and everyone who works there is amazing, Becca is just my fav!! more

i believe my last experience will speak for itself: i received not one, not two, not even three or four (i stopped counting) compliments on my hair after leaving volero on saturday. i've been going to victor for, it must be 3 years now, and every time i've trusted him with my hair, i've looked fantastic. he's great at listening to your concerns and creative in tackling them. i love when the entire team gets involved and each lends their expertise to really give you outstanding hair. fantastico! more

Former groupon customer- converted! 8/9/2011

I took advantage of Volero's groupon when my normal stylist went on maternity leave at an Aveda Salon. I was very happy with my former stylist, but what I received at Volero from Emmanuel was in another league- I'm now a regular customer. I went from platinum bleach-blonde (ruined!) hair back to my natural very dark brown, and the color he did was amazing- I never had to get it re-colored from fading! Also, the haircut was absolute artistry. My poor head has never received that kind of attention to detail. I can trust Emmanuel to give me a chic, unique cut while I am growing out my hair. Volero is fantastic! more

Best hair style and color I have ever had! 7/18/2011

I have very thin hair and no one has ever cut it to make it look thick and luxurious--but for the first time, I love my hair! I have had so many compliments on the style and the blonde highlights! Becca was so warm and friendly that she made me feel very confident in her abilities. I will follow her anywhere! I will never have anyone else touch my hair again--now that I know I can finally have beautiful hair! Thank you for such talent!! more

Best Stylist Ever 6/28/2011

Emanuel is super talented. I don't think there is anyone in Portland that can come close to his skills. He listens to what you want and is very accurate. My hair was a mess and E has revamped it. He is also very kind and super easy to be around. more

Best Hair Cut... EVER!! 6/6/2011

I started seeing Emanuel about a year ago and have never loved my hair so much! The color and cut have been amazing every time! I fall in love with the color combination's that Emanuel uses on my hair each time, always the same tones and hues. However, he knows what I love but has a way of keeping it new and different each time. I can not tell you how many times I get stopped by people complimenting on my color and cut after I get my hair done by Emanuel. That NEVER happened before I started going to see Emanuel. If you want to love your hair cut and look amazing you MUST book an appointment with Emanuel asap! more

Hair Guru! 6/5/2011

Emmanual Santana is my hair guru! No one has been able to duplicate a color by E. Not only is my hair truly platinum when he is through with it but it is so healthy people believe it is my natural color. I have so much confidence in his abilities that I do not drag pictures into the salon for him to see before he cuts.... I know that he will give me the right style for my face and my hair. His talent is addicting! more

Prodigious 6/4/2011

I have never experienced such keen discernment and proficiency in a stylist before nor been able to have complete confidence in an individual to such a degree that I can walk in to the salon and not have said a word, yet he already know what is needed. Emmanuel Santana started perfecting my appearance about a year ago and no one has touched it ever since. He remembers every aspect of the formula that I swear he seems to pull out of thin air and yet with perfection every time. This level of knowledge cannot be artificially generated, it take time and years of experience to gain this vast amount of knowledge that he has obtained. Volero is extremely fortunate to have Emmanuel Santana on their team. more

They LOVE what they do and they should because they're GREAT at it! Each salon technician has so much to bring to the table, but what's so impressive is that they are always sharing the details of what they did for each client's hair with one another to put out even more magnificent results. It is apparent that they extremely enjoy making their clients feel welcome & that they want them to love the results. Their staff is so easy to talk with and they are always eager to listen to how they can help you. more

Bait and Switch 6/3/2011

I purchased a Groupon for a cut and full color at Volero as it?s a great way to try out new Salons. During the six (yes, I said six) hours that it took them to cut and color my hair (I was ?sharing? my stylist) I sat and listed to every patron be verbally patronized by the staff and basically be forced to shell out more money to get what they had supposedly already paid for in the groupon. It?s a classic bait and switch ? a practice that I find not only deceptive, but also dishonest and disrespectful. It has been 2 weeks since my appointment and the color as already faded, so much so that my coworkers asked if I had had it re-done as I told everyone how terrible my Volero experience was. I am amazed to read all the rave reviews for this salon. If you enjoy being told ?never gonna happen? when showing a picture of a style you like, or that ?your hair is terrible, its going to take at least 3 visits to fix it? when there was nothing actually wrong with you hair before you walked in, or if you have amazing low self esteem and think this kind of ?friendly? advice is what you are overpaying for ? great. For anyone else stay away. more

Best Hair-Cut 6/3/2011

Walking into the Volero I was caught off guard by the clear craftsmanship that went into creating the Salon. Had my haircut done my E-man, one of my close friends, and he gave me the best hair cut of my life. Also the owners are super nice, always a big warm smile when I walk in. I truly believe that they know how to meet anyones needs that walk in. So all around 5 Stars across the board! Highly recommended! more

I love my hair!! 6/1/2011

I have been getting my hair done by Eman for a year and a half now and have never been happier with the way it's looked. I don't think I realized what a really good haircut looked like until I started going to him. He is truly a master at his craft and I completely trust him. He is great at reading his client and helping them look their best. I highly recommend getting in to see him before the word spreads and he is booked solid for the next year -It's just a matter of time. more

My hair never looked better!!! 6/1/2011

I have been a loyal customer of Eman Santana for a couple of years and so have my 3 daughters. My hair went from straight up flat black, lack luster color to very healthy, shiny hair that has a beautiful depth of color...and I am constantly receiving compliments about it!! The salon and all the people that work there are incredibly warm and welcoming, so it's a pleasure to go and spend the time in the salon. The location is easy to get to and so is the parking...a big plus!! Eman is the real deal, truly an artist!! I would recommend him highly if you want to achieve a beautiful head of hair! Best hair experience! 3/29/2011

I have grown up in the Portland area and have not been able to find a place to get my hair done that I really love. I think I have found the place. I really enjoyed the experience there. The staff were all great and attentive. I love my haircut and color. I can't wait to go back. I always have a hard time figuring out exactly what I want and Victor and his staff were able to help me decide and tell me what they thought would be best. The all worked together to help me have a great time and get a great look. Thanks Volero team you are awesome. I look forward to coming back. Definitely worth the extra time and money. more
