I have been a client for 13 years here. I've had some major problems recently with them. About two years ago, a female vet told me that my Basset's paw was healing (after 4 week...

You WILL REGRET going there! 10/1/2012

I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody, NEVER. Not one bit. These people do not care about your pet, they just want your money. We made the bad choice of taking our beloved 4 year old, small dog here because he was having breathing problems. We regret it so much. We had to come several times for re-checks etc. Never did they tell us what was wrong with our dog. The last time we took Foxy (our dog), last Thursday, they had us waiting for HOURS, and still they didn't tell us what was wrong with our dog. They just gave us lots of different random medicines. When we got home from the hospital Foxy looked worse than before, and Friday morning he passed away. Also, AFTER we had already seen 3 different vets they told us that each different vet was going to cost extra. This was very infuriating, because they could've told us before, but chose not to. We honestly think that if we hadn't took Foxy to this hospital he'd still be here. They only made things worse. They also did things with more

Very Pleased!! 2/14/2011

I came in with my dog (a Beagle) that had been attacked (mauled) by a bigger dog (pit-bull mix). It was late (after 9) and I had no idea where to take him. I looked this ER vet up and saw the bad reviews, but had no choice, I seriously thought my dog was dying! I called in advance and the person who answered the phone was extremely polite and helpful. Once I got there, I was immediately taken back to an exam room, and the nurse took my dog back to be examined. Within 15 minutes, I was told that they had sedated my dog (because he was obviously in pain) and the vet would take a look at him once the sedation kicked in. After about another 30 minutes, the nurse came back in and explained that initial indications showed that it was nothing TOO serious, but that they were going to have to shave him to get a better look. After they shaved him, the vet did her exam, then came in and explained what she initially saw, but that due to the location of the injuries, she would have to sedate more

If U Really love your pet, don't do it 1/20/2011

I got a 8 wk. old puppy, took him there because they offer online coupon for free first visit, well I got there at the exact time of my appt. They only had one other person there getting a prescription, two other people came in after me, and was taken in before me. They had about 10 women working there, or should I say gossiping and playing around. They called me to a room, after about 10 min. a tech came in, took him and weighed him, brought him back, told me she would have the vet. come right in, well 30 min. later she did, at this point I should have just told her what I thought and left. Yes all they care about is $$$. The room they stuck me in was so hot and stuffey it was horrible, any way we got his first set of shots, actually 1 shot and some vacine up his nose, was charged a 4.99 hazardous disposal on 2 syringes wow, anyway if I had one of my pets get sick I would not trust them to do a good enough job period more

ABSOLUTE WORST VET 11/26/2010

IF YOU LOVE LOUD ANNOYING RECEPTIONIST GREETING YOU WHEN YOU WALK IN WITH YOUR VERY ILL ANIMAL, THIS IS A PLACE TO GO. ALSO IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A VET THAT TRIES TO NICKEL AND DIME YOU FOR ANYTHING POSSIBLE, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. I WENT IN FOR AN EYE EXAM...THEY TRIED TO DO FECAL TESTS, SHOTS, EAR TESTS, SHOTS (EVEN THOUGH I JUST TOLD THEM MY DOGS UP TO DATE), WHEN I FINALLY WALKED AWAY THEY TRIED TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $1000+ andddd...YOU HAVE TO WAIT AN HOUR FOR THEM TO ACTUALLY SEE YOU THEN ANOTHER 30 MIN FOR THE DOC THEN AN HOUR FOR A TREAMENT PLAN!!!!!! THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY AND NOT TRYING TO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS!! WORST SERVICE EVER...HANDS DOWN. more

Fantastic Hospital all around. 8/3/2010

I have had a great experience with this hospital everytime I have needed anything for my pet. The doctors are always really considered about my pet when she is sick and are extremely helpful. The staff is always nice and respectfully whether it be answering the phones to answer my quick questions or taking care of my pet. The are also really informative about procedures they are going to do. When I got my dog spayed her the spay was a bit complicated but the Dr. kept me well informed and let me come and visit after the surgery. I am glad to know i always have a hospital that is availble 24 hours. I am very pleased with this hospital and will keep bringing my dog in. more

Good place 6/6/2010

This is a good veterinary clinic. They've been in business for many years. For one thing, they saved my puppy's life when he had parvo a few years back. They have an around the clock hospital -- someone is there all night. As to other complaints herein that they charge too much: ALL vets do, so that's nothing new. Taking one's pet to the vet has become a very expensive prospect. They are ALL the same in that regard. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital. As for boarding my pets there, I have never done that. It's my observation that most veterinary clinics just put pets into cages in a back room and call that "boarding." Seems cruel to me, so I have never done it. Overall, as a place to get shots and take your pet when he's sick, this is a good place. By the way, I personally don't believe the review claiming their dog vomited all over the place and the staff didn't help them. That is completely out of character for the people at this place. more

NEVER, EVER Again 11/24/2009

Horrible experience, Any pretense of caring about your pet is only to see how much more money they can get out of you. I have been here before for boarding but not for regular vet care. Had an emergency situation that required immediate help on a Sunday. My regular vet was unavailable. These people people raked me over the coals (financially) when they figured out I had no other option. Will NEVER go here again, even for boarding. Club Hill Clinic in Garland is a much more caring place with reasonably priced services. I love Dr. DeWitt. more

Very good experience 5/4/2008

After reading some of the reveiws for this clinic I was very hesitant to take my puppy there. However, it was Sunday and they were the only place I found that would see him. \r I found the staff to be VERY kind and helpful. The doctor spent alot of time talking to me about my puppy's problem and how I can help him.\r I also expected to be charge more since it was Sunday and I didn't have scheduled appointment. The fee was actually less than I expected. That has NEVER happened to me at a Vets office before. \r Based on my experience I would definitely recommend that clinic.\r CT more

Never again 12/18/2007

We took our dog to VCA to be boarded over Labor Day weekend. We told them to give her a flea bath or dip her to help prevent fleas. When we picked her up, fleas were jumping off of her into our van. I called and they told me they had given her a bath. She smelled dirty so I don't think they gave her any kind of bath. We were gone Friday, Sat, and Sun. They had asked us to call before we came to pick her up so they could make sure she was ready. We called Mon morning and they told us we could pick her up in an hour. We got there and had to wait almost 30 more minutes before she was 'ready' to go. It took us months to get rid of all the fleas she brought home. more

Worst vet hospital in DFW 9/30/2007

I recently took my 3month old puppy in for an exam. At that time I had to wait for over 2 hours while my pet was vomiting all over the exam room. The receptionists ignored me and continued to gossip about their fellow employees and how much they hated their job. When a vet finally came in, I was told if I didn't have at least $1000.00 dollars up front I would have to take my pet somewhere else. The nurses didn't even help me clean up after my pet and obviously didn't care about animals at all. This vet is only concerned about money and not the well being of animals. I would not take a dying pet here!!!!! Staff is uneducated, rude, and only concerned about who will be paying the bill.. Somebody please shut them down!!! By the way, I took my pet to another vet in Mesquite-who treated him immediately. more

2 bad experiences 4/17/2007

We haven't been back in several years mainly because of these two grossly mishandled situations. We had taken our 4 dogs here for a few years. I had discontinued using them for routine care because of the doctor merry-go-round - usually a different doctor AND their insistence that post-op pain medication was not needed for one of my dogs after being spayed. \r The final 2 straws were: MY 11 yo D.D's 9 yo sheltie had what I suspect was a heartattack about 10 at night. We got in the car, called VCA on the way & was told the vet was not in.. but would be in about 15 mintues - we'd get there about the same time. We arrived at VCA about 15 minutes later & the vet was not there yet - they told me I could go to another emergency clinic (635/Skillman). My daughter was upset, Honey was DYING & I wouldn't have made it there in time. The nurse allowed my daughter & I to stay with Honey while we waited for the vet another 15 minutes - she was pronounced when he finally showed up. They offered to more

Awful Vet!! 8/1/2005

I have been a client for 13 years here. I've had some major problems recently with them. About two years ago, a female vet told me that my Basset's paw was healing (after 4 weeks of it bleeding). The very next week when I took her back to change the bandages, a vet named "Nightengale" (Who is an awesome vet) told me there's something wrong b/c it hadn't even BEGUN to heal! He did a biopsy and discovered that she had cancer. I don't remember the doctor's name, but it was a female. Just 5 weeks ago, I took my new dog that I rescued, and was seen by the same female vet. I thought, as did my whole family, that the dog was pregnant (it was a bit obvious). She told me she wasn't pregnant. Two weeks later, she had a litter of 9 puppies. I recently found a new vet, who is actually much cheaper, and much more personal. I would tell anyone who is considering this place to find another vet. PROS: 24 hour emergency care, and walkins welcome CONS: Vets who don't diagnose the problem cor more
