We haven't been back in several years mainly because of these two grossly mishandled situations. We had taken our 4 dogs here for a few years. I had discontinued using them for routine care because of the doctor merry-go-round - usually a different doctor AND their insistence that post-op pain medication was not needed for one of my dogs after being spayed. \r
The final 2 straws were: MY 11 yo D.D's 9 yo sheltie had what I suspect was a heartattack about 10 at night. We got in the car, called VCA on the way & was told the vet was not in.. but would be in about 15 mintues - we'd get there about the same time. We arrived at VCA about 15 minutes later & the vet was not there yet - they told me I could go to another emergency clinic (635/Skillman). My daughter was upset, Honey was DYING & I wouldn't have made it there in time. The nurse allowed my daughter & I to stay with Honey while we waited for the vet another 15 minutes - she was pronounced when he finally showed up. They offered to
