While I certainly empathize with the challenges associated with delays, I always feel the need to post a comment when I see a good store getting unfairly rolled under the bus. I've spent well over 20 years as a juvenile furniture rep and I've seen my share of delays... and frustrated customers. The frustration of product delays colliding with the due dates of new parents is a primary reason why big, adult furniture retailers don't sell baby furniture... those stores don't want the hassle. Stores like USA Baby fill that void. USA Baby Richmond is not a customer of mine, but they are well known within the industry as being a very strong retailer for nearly 20 years. Its obvious that ""hokiefan"" has no experience in the furniture industry. Apparently she thinks USA Baby should simply flip on their band saw and whip together a dresser. Retailers have no control over delays - hence they don't make the product. Retailers want the product in ASAP so they can get paid, they have no incentive to the contrary. While I'd be upset because of a delay, I certainly would not point blame at the part of the distribution channel that doesn't make the goods. I'll start by saying that we knew what we were getting into by purchasing our nursery furniture here. Based on stories from almost every couple we know, we heard that the delivery was terrible with USA baby. So, we took precautions by ordering super early and having low expectations. \r \r I will say that our sales experience was great. The staff was knowledgeable and the owner personally helped us choose our furniture. We placed our order for a crib, dresser and bed rails and were told they would arrive in 6-12 weeks. We received our crib about 8 weeks later, but were told that the dresser was still being produced and would arrive in one month. \r \r Fast forward about 4 more weeks - I called to follow-up. And the dresser is delayed again and hasn't even been made yet. I finally get a phone call 18 weeks after we placed our order to say everything has arrived. We now qualify for free delivery, so I try to schedule it, but of course they have no openings for 10 more days. I threw a fit and they made an exception to deliver at another time outside of their normal hours. But, of course they failed to fulfill. I had to call 3 times before they finally arrived 2 hours late and low and behold, my dresser that I've now been waiting on for 19 weeks is damaged!!!!\r \r My biggest problem with this place is that the staff has absolutely no accountability. They took no responsibility for all of the issues and just blamed it on the manufactuer. Not exactly the best business model. If a store can't hold up its end of delivering goods and services, then they should not be doing business with these manufactuers. \r \r If I were you I would stay far, far, far away from this place! Our nightmare still isn't over and we are 2 weeks from the arrival of our baby. 2nd beatiful nursery 1/12/2010

Just had my 2nd nursery from USA Baby deilvered before the holidays, and we are more than thrilled! Great sales help, great furniture, there is no place like it. If they had more car seats and strollers, I'd give them 5+ stars. Pros: unbeatable furniture selection Cons: wish they had more car seats and strollers more

great furniture and service 12/26/2009

First time mom, was a little overwelmed. Baby Bargains (and my USA Baby associate) recommended to shop early for the furniture (we shopped at around 20 weeks), which was good advise - it took about 12 weeks to get everything. Everything (last week) looks great, my son has nicer furniture than I had in high school! Thanks! Pros: Great furniture selection, knowledgeable staff Cons: none that I can think of more

Good Looking Furniture if you can get it delivered 4/6/2009

We ordered back in Jan 09 sales person said it will be 6-10 weeks, it's now April 09 12 weeks I keep calling to see when it will come in, but they keep pushing the delivery date 3 to 4 weeks at a time. By the time we get it, Junioretta will be in college, at least it's convertible crib. I'll give them one star for having nice furniture but you need to know that you will need to order the crib before you even are trying to make a baby. Then you might get it on time. We ordered Munire furniture in Feb '08, and we received the furniture a couple weeks ago. Love the furniture! But the lead time was alot longer than expected. What I liked was USA Baby kept pushing for answers and they even got one of Munire's VPs to call us to explain the delays. As a courtesy, USA Baby delivered the furniture to us, and waived the delivery cost. \r \r Last month we were starting to wonder what we really going on with our furniture, well, with the power of the internet, we found out! If you google: ""baby bargains blog muninre"", the first search result will show that Munire delays have been going on for a several months! Just an FYI. USA Baby was very helpful, but I'd only order Munire furniture if you have 10+ weeks.\r \r more

Thanks USA Baby! Thanks Micah... you really helped us alot! You definitely know alot about the furniture!\r We love the furniture... its even prettier in our home! We too had to wait a few weeks longer than originally expected for the furniture... but I can't blame USA Baby, they stayed on top of the order the whole way thru. Just like ordering adult furniture, the arrival time isn't always perfect. But the furniture is definitely worth it! misleading delivery time 6/16/2008

I had found the perfect crib set at usa baby. When i had decided that was the one i came back and even the floor model was gone. So of course i had to order it and was told that it could take up to 6 to 8 weeks max. a 7 week average delivery time. Well at five weeks when i called the store the lady that had assisted me in the purchace told me she'd call me the following day which didn't happen. I called back a few days later and was told that it would be 3 to 4 more weeks to get shipped to the store than another week or 2 to get there. I was dumfounded and then was told that at time of purchace everyone signs an ESTIMATED time of arrival. To say the least i was livid. I'm still waiting and on the 9th week now. The store has offered me a loaner crib and changing table but that didn't move me at all! So unless you can wait 3 to 4 months on delivery go for it. more

USA Baby - Richmond 5/29/2008

Being a new Mom, I had a million things on my mind. So when I found out my baby's furniture was going to be delayed 4-6 weeks longer than the orginal lead time, I panicked! The way USA Baby (especially Diane) handled the difficult situation was great! She kept on top of the order, brought out a loner changing table (my crib came in first) and then delivered the rest of the furniture at no extra charge!\r \r It wasn't easy, but USA Baby came through with flying colors! Their selection of furniture is second to none, and it was nice to see that they showed so much sincere care with this tough situation, a situation they had no real control over. Ordering is a hassle 5/12/2008

Great selection of quality items, but lacking in the customer service area. I had to order a few large (in size and dollars) items that were not in stock. They said the items would be in within 4 weeks. No one from the store called me to let me know they were delayed/back ordered. When I called and left messages, no one would return my calls. I am in the 12th week of waiting and not slated to receive the last item ordered for another month. If they have something in stock, great. Otherwise, be prepared to keep on top of them and make A LOT of follow-up calls. Pros: Large selection of quality goods Cons: No customer service on orders/after the sale more
