I took my 4 dogs to UAH for the past five years and got terrific care for them. The staff always made time for my appointments, even when I called last minute. I saw just about every Dr. on the staff; Dr. Curasi was fantastic with my Scotty (successfully removed a cancerous tumor from her foot and treated her for Addison's). Dr. Privette is the kind of vet who gets down on the floor to greet your pet; after my older JRT developed a stiff gait, he kept looking into what could be going on and eventually, we discovered she had Cushing's with a rare manifestation of myopathy. Dr. Newton made the preliminary exam on the stray dog I adopted. I have called them for all sorts of things (I can get a bit crazy about my dogs) and the doctors always have returned my calls within 24 hours. The receptionists, tech and kennel staff couldn't have been kinder, even though one of my JRTs is a bit of a handful! The last time I boarded my dogs, the older JRT needed prednisone (prescribed by her specialist vet) in a dosage not stocked at UAH, so they called the local pharmacy for me and the prescription was waiting for me to pick up. My husband and I have lived in many states over the past 20 years and been to many vets for our many dogs, and UAH ranks up at the top for offering great vet care. I didn't find their prices out of line with other vets providing the same kind of high quality care; the facility is super-clean, and is a member of the AAHA, which was important to me because they undergo voluntary inspections and are held to higher standards than a regular vet practice. Now that we are leaving Orlando, I will miss them.
