My pup died after staying in their care while I was on vacation. She was active and healthy when I left. I tried to talk with the vet a few days after the pup died. He refused to come to the phone. Although I was not accusing him of wrongdoing, I did think it was important to understand why a healthy dog would die and what could she have been exposed to while there that would cause this. He, through his manager, stated that he was not responsible and that if I wanted to know what happened to go get my dead pups body from the emergency clinic that they sent me to the day I picked her up and bring her body back to him to test. I can't think of a more inappropriate and uncaring response. Needless to say, I would avoid this clinic and these vets at all costs. Even if by some stretch they were not responsible for the death of my pup, their lack of caring and compassion is unbelievable.
