Best

john s has given me the best haircuts of my life!

Worst

I am 13 years old and from Wayzata, Minnesota. I have gone to Twiggs three times in the past year for highlights & a haircut. The first time was last July, when I was getting high...

Best haircut ever! 10/4/2008

I saw the split ends episode and was actually surprised that the salon was nothing like I expected. I had a coupon for 50% off, so I decided to try it. I had an apt with Lisa, a senior stylist. She was great! I have gone to 4 different salons trying to get the right cut, it has been painful. I was so excited that she finally was able to cut my hair the way I wanted it. She really listened and spent the extra time to make sure it was perfect. I do agree that some of the people in the salon seemed snotty, but luckily Lisa was great! She made me feel very comfortable in the salon. Pros: Senior stylists are really experienced, great haircuts, Lisa Cons: Location more

Unfortunate bad experiences 10/2/2008

I have been to Twiggs SalonSpa 4 times, and have had 1 good experience thus far. My initial visit was for a manicure with a group of girlfriends the day before a wedding. The manicure was nice and relaxing, but the polish was already chipping off the following day (the day of the wedding). Considering the price of a manicure, I would expect the look to last at least a couple of days. Pros: Many Services Offered Cons: Very Poor Customer Service more

C'mon - experience it for yourself - not heresay! 9/29/2008

WOW - I am amazed at all the folks out there that decide to write a review about a business that they have never entered. I never saw the episode of Split Ends that folks are talking about but is it really any different than a movie critic giving their own opinion of a particular movie? Unless you actually experience it for yourself - you can not participate in conversation! I have been to Twiggs on several occasions over the last couple of years. My first experience was very pleasant. Walking into a salon, being greeted, offered water or coffee while you wait then taken back by the stylist to their station to discuss what you wish to have done that day. Taken back then to the wash tables where you lay down (less pressure on your neck) and are comfortable as they begin to shampoo and massage your scalp. Once done, you are provided the opportunity for a chair massage and a hand dip. After, you head back to the cutting station where you sit and chat with your stylist as they begin your cut/color. Viewing the other clients in the salon and the interaction they have with each other and their stylists, those of you who chastise the salon truly have never been before. You need to actually experience it first-hand folks. If it was really as bad as this Split Ends shows says it is? Why are they always so busy and have such repeat business? more

Twiggs Stepford Robot Spa 9/11/2008

Just saw the re-run of Split Ends. Shauna, you don't walk into someone's business, dressed like a rich, spoiled hoochie-mama, carrying your rodent, and expect everyone to be ""OK"" with it. Your salon is so cold and unfriendly. Your neurotic staff is forced to quickly erase all signs of human occupation immediately upon the client's departure. Wow, I didn't realize that ""butt marks"" were SOOOOO uncouth! Get over yourself. A salon or spa is supposed to be calming, WELCOMING, and relaxing, not a place of high stress and anxiety where the client is afraid to sit down or use the restroom! Pros: The dog gets treated better than the clients Cons: I can't believe your staff supports you more

BEST SALON EVER 7/29/2008

I GO TO THIS SALON ALL THE TIME.... AND I LEAVE HAPPY AND FEELING GOOD ALL THE TIME.... AND ALL YOU PEOPLE DOING THE BAD 1 STAR COMMENTS PROLLY HAVE NEVER BEEN TO TWIGGS SALON SPA BEFORE... YOU ARE JUST SAYING THESE THINGS BECUASE OF THE SPLIT ENDS EPISODE.... IT WAS ALL SCRIPTED......... THEY WANTED THE EPISODE TO BE LIKE THIS..... SHAUNA DOES NOT ACT LIKE THIS!!!!!! GET A LIFE AND DONT MAKE SHAUNA OR ANY OF THE STAFF AT TWIGGS FEEL LIKE SH!T..... GET A DAMN LIFE.... Pros: EVERYTHING!!!!!! Cons: NOTHING!!!!!!! more

Violations of Department of Labor Regulations 7/27/2008

If there is poor lighting you can not see how poorly your hair is cut. Good thing since the skill here is minimal. everyone will get the same cut. Pathetic bobs galore. Shauna the owner is a walking violation of OSHA and Department of Labor standards. Pros: So dark you can not see how badly a job they are doing. Cons: It is still open, more

you call yourselves high fashion???? 7/6/2008

I work at a high end salon on 5th Avenue in New York City and I can tell you that not one employee acts like that. This place has a long way to go with their ""cutting egde"" razor cutting skills. Just because you use a razor without a guard doesn't mean anything. Thier skills are extremely old school and they need some help with their early 90's graduated bobs. Her comments about someone from AZ probably not being a good stylist because their from AZ is complete madness. There are plenty of talented people out thereand Krissana has loads of potential, its people like that, that will try to keep her down. These people need to be put in their place! Cons: everything more

Overrated 7/5/2008

This salon is totally overrated. Chrissy, that rude, brown haired assistant, gave me a bowl cut. I would only recommend this place if you like rude skanks and bowl cuts. Pros: Awesome bowl cuts Cons: Stinky skanks more

Don't go here 7/5/2008

I got my hair done here and would never go back let alone suggest this place to others. So rude, cold and they did not seem that intelligent. Pros: Leaving Cons: They were not knowledgeable about different trends. more

Horrible Hair Cut 7/5/2008

An absolutely horrible experience. The wannabe posers thought they could do a fab job on my hair. Well, the young gentleman - if you want to call a tacky little boy - was such a poser that I knew he was no help. Then the so called owner, another forgettable soul, started to talk. I'm from a real city - SF, not a small hick town, and was visiting my friend's family. He even heard bad things about this place. The place was gloomy, their stylist was tacky and they all wore clothes from Wal Mart - mostly Kristy - the lonely elf - troll. Very cheap decor, not a real establishment, and the job they did on my hair was simply bad. I do not recommend this place at all. The poser attitude should go, they probably make cents on the dollar in a real place. When I think about it, I suggest that these people give people from MN a bad name. I suggest cow tipping for the fake owner - bad breasts, cheesy clothes, a horrible face lift, and a low end Porsche. She would be ridiculed in any big market - simply trash. Pros: N/A Cons: Horrible Style, no sense of fashion more

I was delighted to see that people felt the same way I did 7/5/2008

After watching split endz, I figured I'd google the salon. I live a few hours away. I was appalled at the way Shauna treated other people. Not even just her clients. She is quite possibly, the rudest unimportant person I have ever seen. By unimportant, I actually mean, someone who thinks she is bigger than the Beatles. If a fat person walks through the door? Are you kidding me? That's not even legal, and she just admitted her wrong doings on the camera. I hope she gets in a world of trouble for that bs. Pros: The fact that we saw the 'true' salon on national television Cons: Everything else more

very sad 7/5/2008

Just saw ""Split Ends"" and felt the need to post a review so that the pompous wannabes at this salon will see that you can't treat everyone in a mean, nasty and condescending way without expecting some kind of karmic payback. more

Best Salon Spa 7/1/2008

I had a truly wonderful experience at Twiggs as a new client. The salon is edgy and upbeat. Literally, everyone in the salon looked like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine -- very inspiring. Shauna, my hair stylist, was attentive, warm and professional. Her expertise with hair was obvious from the very start of my consultation. She did an amazing job by giving me a new style that's modern, low maintenance and very flattering for my face shape. David did a great job with foils that compliment my fair complexion. Talk about full service -- I commented on the great music and he burned me a copy!! Only the best products are available/used at this salon. Kelly did probably the best pedicure I've ever had using the Pevonia product line. The icing on the cake was the two Kerastase in-salon treatments (one complimentary), chair massage, and makeup touch by David. It's been a long time since I've felt so good about my new look. I can't wait until my next visit. Pros: great products, service, and atmosphere Cons: spendy but worth every penny more

Too Fat For A Hair Cut 6/18/2008

My girl friend in Los Angeles is coming into MN to visit and wanted to know if I thought she was too fat to get her hair cut by Shauna. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

TERRIBLE EXPIRIENCE 5/28/2008

I HAD A VERY POOR EXPIRIENCE! I had randomly made an appointment for a cut and a color and was very disappointed with the results...my haircut was uneven throughout and was cut with a razor leaving it with tons a fly-aways and split ends and my highlights look very blotchy with dots of beached hair on my scalp...the staff seemed young and unexpirienced. I actually looked up the split ends episode after the fact only to feel sorry for the owner....that someone so devoid of substance could try to base her entire personality hiding behind material posessions and obsessiveness....DONT GO TO TWIGGS! Pros: location Cons: everything else more

Are you serious? 5/17/2008

The place looks nice ..... thats about all there is to say. A couple friendly counter people but overall i wouldn't even expect that kinda of snobby judgemental attitude getting my hair done in beverly hills or new york. I don't care how nice my hair looks (it did look nice) but its not worth having to listen to them talk. more

Who Would Want To Go There? 5/14/2008

I just got finished watching Split Ends and being into film making myself out here in Los Angeles, I can tell you that Twiggs' owner Shauna, was not played up for the show! First of all saying that, ""no good stylist has ever come out of Arizona"" is like saying no good actor has ever come out of Texas or no good athlete has ever come out of Ohio...that is just pure stupidity. Second, about the client that wanted pink hair extensions, when is it ever okay at any salon to tell the client that what they want is tacky and refuse them service? I don't care if the client wants a purple, mohawk mullet!!! You give the paying client what they want and make them happy!!! This woman is rediculous and may have ruined the only business she has been getting out there in Boondock, MN. Just think, all this high society talk from a woman that wears plastic jewelry!!! Pros: You Can Get A Haircut And Fleas At The Same Time! Cons: If You Sit Down, You will Have To Remove Your Butt Marks Before They Will See You! more

Twiggs SalonSpa 5/14/2008

I just got done watching ""Split Endz"", the treatment I witnessed of the stylist from Az. was just down right horrific, I don't know how the poor girl didn't just end the show right there. Kristy is rude, thinks she is all that, and all the clients she does kind of leaves with the same hair cut she has. Being a stylist myself, I would never treat a new stylist that way, it is our job to make a new member of the team to feel welcome and that they are wanted as part of the team, I never saw that from one member of the Twiggs team, and again, Kristy really needs an attitude adjustment, and work on her people skills, she is very uptight, and to me that suggests that she is uncertain in her own skills and teachings, there are alot of different types of styists in the world, we all need to learn how to adapt with each other, and if you think you can never learn anything new, especially a new stylist is the day you think you know it all, you might as well put up your scissors and cape, and hang it up, you have room to learn something from everyone you meet, if you go into a new experience with a closed mind like I saw on that episode, I don't want to be apart of that type of salon. I work in a small salon in upstate New York, I've heard people say New Yorkers are rude, well the stylists at Twiggs have got all of us beat, once again Kristy gets the top prize in the rudeness!!! more

Hateful Staff. Negative energy. 5/14/2008

I would not be caught there among such hateful people. I don't know why they behave like high society when they are really very small town. Cuts are not modern and way overpriced. Shawna needs a makeover. It s sad to see people this horrible. I have been to some of the best salons. In the nation. And in the world. This does not resemble an acceptable salon to me or my family or my friends. Why are they so negative and narrow minded? Added to my ""DO NOT GO"" list. Pros: they accept pets Cons: horrible negarive energy all around more
