Tucci has a very good assortment of ""special"" type dishes which I enjoy from time to time. However, I prefer the authentic italian pasta dishes served at Ricardo's in Lake Grov...

Below Average 4/29/2006

My Husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner! We decided on Tucci and went with much excitement, but to are dismay it was an over priced awful experience. We both have been to many great Italian resturants and have never been so disappointed. I had a shrimp dish that was absolutley horrific. The shrimp were NOT fresh at all and the dish was so bland that I couldn't eat it. My Husband got a pizza that was the most blah pizza he had ever eaten. We both got up from our table and the waitress asked ""done already?"" We had a enough...paid the bill and ran out...we couldn't get out of there quick enough. Honestly never judge a book by it's cover...this place is looks nice and is in a great part of town but it's definately below average. Cons: blah more

Overinflated ego restaurant 3/31/2006

This place thinks waaaay too highly of itself. From the sneering looks of the minimum wage staff to the cheap 'chic' decoration of this place, it's all unauthentic crap. The food is barely palpable and the servers are downright rude. I don't know what their deal is but we are most certainly not returning to this pit. It's only plus is that it's in trendy Lake O. If that's your cuppa, then by all means dine there. Pros: location Cons: horrid service, bland food, ridiculous prices more

Great place 1/14/2006

I don't know what you folks are talking about, the food here is wonderful, the service sharp and the ambience great. About the only problem is you to have to LO to go to it. Pros: Food, Service, Parking Cons: Location more

Skip the fish drink the wine 12/19/2005

The ambiance of the restaurant is fabulous! The food not so much. The lamb was way too salty and oversauced so no traceable elements of lamb were evident. The fish was overcooked even after a discussion with the waiter that fish sounds good but is normally overcooked. I even received assurances it would be fine. The wine list is amazing and the wine in and of itself was worth the experience - with some really good music in the corner as well. I am not too stingy with my money but would not waste it at Tucci's again. Pros: parking, live music, wine Cons: too expensive, food more

More Style than Substance 11/27/2005

I've been to Tucci many times for lunch and for dinner. The atmosphere is nice, if a little crowded with large tables too close together. Should improve when a planned renovation is complete...Jan 2006? The food doesn't warrant the high prices but the all Italian wine list is a hit with me. Service has been sub par in the past but on a recent visit, I was surprised by how friendly and courteous the staff were. Perhaps they've been reading some of the reviews. We had to wait in the bar - no reservations on a Friday night - and the manager brought an extra chair and requested that other diners make room for us. Unexpected but nice touch. They also managed to find us a table in less time than we expected. Food is good, but not outstanding. Pros: wine list, atmosphere Cons: prices, crowded more

What happened? Gone horribly wrong... 10/26/2005

Been to Tucci at least a dozen times with small and large groups. It was great: the food, wine and atmosphere. But the service has become well, ""offensive"". Our server the last 2 times was not only rude, he never apologized for my entree arriving cold and 45 mins later than the rest of the table. He did take it off the bill, but was extremely rude about it. The hostess: when confronted as to the where abouts of our meal became defensive and assured us our order was not forgotten. No apologies, either! This restaurant was on passportunlimited, which brought us back time and time again. But why pay their outrageous prices for poor service? There are many other first rate restaurants on passport, which we will be happy to patron. If Tucci cleans up the service and becomes a passport member again, we'll consider coming back. Pros: food-tasty Cons: service, not on passport, cold food, costly more

Consistently Good! 7/27/2005

I've been to this restaurant three times during the past year with three different friends. It has been great each time - twice in the dining room, once on the patio. The charming space, the friendly service and the good food combine to make this a most enjoyable, relaxed place to eat. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: it's in Lake Oswego more

Wonderful Dining Experience 7/8/2005

Highly recommend Tucci for excellent food, specials, desserts, ambience, service and comfort. The inside dining area is small but intimate. Best Fillet of Beef we have had. The lobster risotto special was wonderful. Our waiter was busy but attended to our every need. Wine list is exclusively Italian with affordable selections. Plan on returning in near future to sample other menu items. Don't miss the expresso cheesecake. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Wine Cons: Crowded more

Service SUCKS. I Won't Be Back. 6/22/2005

Do NOT go to this restaurant if you want good service. I have never been treated so rudely by a food server. My friends and I had reservations, arrived on time, and were seated. Not more than 10 minutes after we were seated, our server came to the table to inform my friends and me that we could only have our table until 6:30, and we could either move to the bar now, or wait until 6:30 and move. RUDE! When we informed our server that we had reservations, and that we were puzzled why we were being treated like this, she became more rude. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager gave us some lame story about seating arrangements/charts, apologized, and said we could have the table as long as we wanted it. I'll never go back. The food is good, but poor service ruined the evening. Pros: drinks, food Cons: service, price more

Are they kidding? 5/31/2005

After standing in the empty entry for more than just a few minutes, a girl with an overplayed English accent finally approached us only to explain that there weren't any tables available in the also empty little dining room. We were given the option to dine at one of the 6 bar tables, the pannini bar (looking squarely at the cooks) or at this bitsy little table that sat smack in the middle of the entry. Needless to say, we opted to dine somewhere else. Dinner again at Tucci? No thanks. Cons: many more

Mediterranean Italian at its best! 5/16/2005

Lovely decor, unpretentious, knowledgable staff. Receptive, available chef with excellent training and a flair for the unique. The pan-seared tuna was like butter, the side dishes were just as exciting. MMMnnnnnn! Bravo chef Pascal! I will certainly return for the flavor and the ambiance. Pros: atmosphere, flavor, desserts! more

eh noting to special 2/18/2005

Went for a romantic dinner. Hostess was more focused on the phone than live customers. Got to hear staff talk about their lives and paychecks. I could feal the table next to us breathing. Dinner was average, I could boil some noodles and throw butter and asparagus on top at home for 14 less a plate. Dessert was good, above average. Waiter did not know what was at the bar, had to go ask and forgot before he was back to the table. Dinner for 2 was $85 with the tip. Ill just drive to NW 23rd or 21st next time. Pros: Dessert Cons: Loud more

Bevery Hills Wanna be 1/19/2005

This restaurant, is pretentious, bad service, unyielding chef to vary even a salad (by omitting and ingredient) and the PASTA WAS BLAND, NO SEASONING. Had heard good things before, but EXTREMELY dissapointed with whole restaurant experience. Maybe when they figure out, that customers are their asset, they might sort their priorties out, and help will be on the way. A complete waste of money, and most of all time. Staff was snobby, put us near the kitchen entrance at lunch while all tables were open during the entire lunch hour.... they were still open when we left. NEVER again! Cons: , NO VALUE, UNFREINDLY more

Agree with other postings, A++++ 1/14/2005

Finally made the drive to Tucci. Only 10 min drive from PDX. This place surpassed our expectations. Food was exceptional!!!! Recommend seafood dishes, very fresh and unusual sauces. Starters, salads and soups are wonderful, a meal in themselves. The wine list is very Italian, and extremely well chosen, some hard to find. Service was attentive, kind and effecient. Place can be a bit loud on the weekends, but the very comfortable chairs allow you to focus on your own table and people watch. We expected pretencious, but there was none. Reservations are a must, but will accomodate if you are running late, etc. Very well done. Pros: Cuisine A++++++++++++, wine list, SERVICE, atmosphere more

This is still THE place! 12/28/2004

While the burbs seem like a distance, the trek is well worth it! We have been to Tucci many times and with a small or large group, service is very good and the food is unmatched! We have tried seafood, beef, lamb and pasta-it's all wonderful. Start with an appetizer, and share a salad or soup. This place stands alone. The wine list is complete and many price ranges to offer. Great value for money, you won't find such excellence any place in town! We'll be back. Pros: cuisine, wine list, service, atmosphere more

Great Find 10/25/2004

We were greeted by a warm reception upon our arrival. I am embarrassed to say, but we were about 25 minutes late for our reservation. The hostess literally bent over backwards trying to find a seat for us. The decor is lovely. Very warm and cozy and the seats are so comfortable (nice high back chairs - I felt like royalty). We had this incredible, Crab Bruchetta and the Scallops melt in your mouth. Our server was super accomodating with our inexperience of Italian wine and recommended a reasonably priced bottle that we both enjoyed. Skepticle of the ""Chocolate Polenta Cake"" dessert suggestion, this also was a decadent discovery. With a family to take care of, going out is limited and service very important. I tend to stick to places I know I will be well taken care of. This restaurant will now be part of that circle. Pros: Reservations, Atmosphere, Dinner/Desert more

Don't Get It 9/26/2004

We must be missing something here too. A surly hostess with an equally surly dining room manager got us off on the wrong foot. Service was fine, as was the food. Nothing to write home about. There are other restaurants in Lake Oswego. Pros: decor, Italian wine choices Cons: , attitude more

Love the atmosphere..however 8/26/2004

lately the menu has become a bit 'out there.' Dined with a few couples and they all ordered the soup as there wasn't anything 'everyday Italian' to chose from. Please bring back the classic Italian! Pros: Good Service more

Decadent!!! 5/26/2004

Tucci is excellent, we have dined weekends AND weekdays for the most wonderful evening meals! This is one of the best restaurants in the Pacific North West! Highly recommend their seafood dishes: calamari with 2 kinds of aoli, scallops are prepared just heavenly. The steak and ALL OTHER dishes are equally cooked to perfection. The chef obviously pays particular attention to preparation of the dishes and hand crafted sauces to accompany each individual dish they are to die for! Wines are reasonably priced, as are the other bar items. Desserts are scrumptious. The service was attentive, but not over bearing. Prices are fair, considering you are getting a 5 star meal! From starter to desserts it is absolute perfection; Tucci is the complete package. Fully recommend give this a try, you wont regret it. Menu changes often, but you will always find something wonderful. Pros: Food! Dessert! Wine!, Atmosphere, service, parking more

Superb!!!! 5/23/2004

What a pleasant surprise. From some of the reviews, we had a different impression. The wines are not overly priced (some $5-6 per glass and up), maybe they've accommodated to the complaints. The meal was one of the best we've ever had. Recommend the rib-eye, melts in your mouth, it was tasty and most tender, generous portion. The scallops were prepared as they should be: tender, succulent, fresh as can be. Starters are all good, but especially the calamari, salads and bruschetta! In fact, every thing we had at our table was given the highest rating! Service, also very good! I have never found every aspect of a meal so satisfying, not until now: TUCCI does it right! We will recommend to everyone! One of Portland Metros top establishments!!!!! Pros: menu rotation!, food/wine excellent, service more
