The most amazing mechanics out there 3/16/2011

From the min I walked in these guys were there to help, I always thought taking my car to the shop was going to be a huge hassle I was so wrong they even picked my car up from my house. The price they quoted me at was the amount I paid. I would honestly recommend tri county to anyone. Thank you guys for all your hard work. more

Responding To BEWARE 2/21/2011

Dorsa Warr (the person writing this review that I?m responding to) is not my customer, her granddaughter is and I never met her until she came into my office demanding I pay for insurance on a rental car. I had been dealing with her granddaughters husband, boyfriend? Henry and we had no problems accept he wanted me to call him every day due to pressure from his girlfriend, wife's grandmother asking him for updates and pressuring him. We had the vehicle for more time that expected but got the job done and got it back to them. The transmission had some shifting issues still and I found there was a minor hydraulic leak inside transmission that had to be worked on for a second time. I told Henry I would have the vehicle for some time due to the scheduling in the shop. He wanted a rental car. I told him no problem, I even got him a larger car due to her moving kids around. They signed up for Insurance on their rental which was an extra 380. Henry and I discussed this he said no problem he would take care of it. I paid for all of the rental car and 100 of the insurance due to the fact that there was so much frustration from the customer. We paid over 500 in rental fees and insure to make sure this customer had a vehicle while I had to do warranty work. I work on several vehicles every week and it is hard to call everyone every day. I did get the job done and I paid for the rental car. I did everything I could to try to keep this customer happy beside's pay for insurance on a rental car that was already agreed upon would be taken care of by Henry (I have a written agreement with this information on it). I got the vehicle done on a weekend and was even willing to come down on a Saturday afternoon to have them pick up the car. There was a communication problem from my other shop of where the vehicle was so I made sure it was available the next day. I don?t know how much more I could have done for this customer. more

BEWARE!! BEWARE! BEWARE! 1/31/2011

What can you say about an outfit like these yay hoos? Nov.2010 had a bad trans Took it in and like you others have stated.. no return calls! I called daily and they promised daily to call back.they DIDN?T .Dont we call that lies? Two weeks went by and the car was not moved. After numerous visits and tons of calls, got the car back. paid 2900 for their abuse In a 3 weeks the trans went bad again. Surprised?? NO we weren?t either, Called- too busy-wait a week .-took it in -same old crap- no calls- no work. Even said we had to wait for ? paying customers? work to be done! Finally -called - said it was ready- Fri night- of course, When I got there -no car! they didn?t know where it was or?CARE! They closed and left.. After I left numerous messages finally I decided to report it stolen-they got that message! AND called back. Amazingly they had found the car!!. Second time around.-they told us to rent a car and they would cover the cost. I made them put that in writing or I would be out that money well . Yep - You got it- that check to me for the rental BOUNCED.! 2 more weeks to reconcile that mess and numerous trips to his bank and mine. What a bunch of unbelievable people. Tom is as dishonest as the kid. Term - Power trip comes to mind. Do yourself a favor and find someone who cares. If you give them your keys .you?re in trouble. Their long yrs in business must have been the grandpa?s reputation.Surely not these guys. this trans will fail too.No doubt. more

We bought a car from a local used car lot, who told us they bought the car from a friend that ran tri-county transmissions and it had a new transmission in it (put in by tri-county, although considering he was a car salesman, he was probably lying about this).... 50 miles off the lot the transmission went into fail safe mode... so the dealer sent us to his friends at tri-county transmissions, and after a lot of BS agreed to pay all but 500 of a transmission rebuild. And this fact apparently made us not real customers in Robert's(owners son who runs the shop) eyes. They have had our car for over a month now. We still do not have it. They originally told us it would be 5 days. For the past two weeks Robert has been telling me it will be done tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Robert told me it is taking so long because they have to do jobs first for their real customers. I have had to speak with the owner(Tom) twice now, who has been great. He spoke with the dealership for me and came up with the deal, and i spoke with him on monday and he assured me the car will be done by friday at the latest, probably tuesday or wednesday. It is wednesday and i just spoke with Robert and its the same story. It will probably be done friday, but no sooner. We had this car for only two days after buying it, and now must make our first payment and insurance for nothing. We both had to take time off from work because of this ""it will be done tomorrow"" BS, and i lost my job because of it. The car is not even where we dropped it off. They said they moved it to another shop. Starting to think they chopped it lol. Anyways, no problems with the owner as he has not lied to me throughout the process. But the two other employees i talked to (Robert and Mason) contradict themselves every other word. My experience, along with other negative reviews, along with the owner faking the first review(?), would lead me to NOT recommend this transmission shop to anybody. more

Don't Trust these guys!!!! 4/16/2010

These people are horrible! Quoted me one price then when they said it was done (2 months later mind you) it was way more then they said it would be. And after Driving for ONLY one day it broke again! Then they said it was something else wrong and wanted more money. I took my car to AAmco instead and they told me the trans was still all messed up and fixed it right. NOT HAPPY and will never trust Tri County Trans again! Cons: Everything! more

Response To Fause Accusation's I'm The Owner Of Tri-County Transmissions 1/26/2009

First, this person is not a customers of ours and never has been a customer. We purchased this vehicle from her brother who didn't switch the title to his name before selling it to me. I never spoke to her before the saturday that she called me, she stared the converstion off with agressive language demanding money. At that time I told her that I didn't konw her but she could call my shop monday morning to get to the bottom of the problem. She never called to follow up. I was never rude just perfesional in handling the matter. more

I had sold my pickup to Tri Co. About a month later I get a notice from the Clackamas Co Sheriff that this pickup got ticketed on thier lot. I took this ticket to Tri Co and they said no problem we will take care of it. My big mistake I trusted them. A month later I get another notice from Valley Credit Services. Saying that the ticket did not get paid and I owe even more. I was fuming. I called Tri Co and Tom answered the owner. He was rude, blew me off and could not understand why I was so upset. This was a Saturday. He said he would not talk to me about this until Monday. I thought he was very unprofessional and very very RUDE!!! I called Clackamas Sheriffs Office on Monday. I talked with someone who was Extremely helpful. If I had a transmission I needed repair I would not give my business to Tri CO. Owner TOM... Cons: Bad customer service more

Great service 10/30/2008

No problems at all. They kept my costs down and the car works great. The V. V. V. info below doesn't match up to the website info. Two concerns resolved years ago, and none even claimed for over a year! Pros: Took as much time as needed to explain estimate, needs, and work done Cons: None I could find more

Not only do these guys do a great job at a great price, they are just really NICE folks! They got our car fixed and running and no one would have done it for the price they did it for! Wonderful Car Repairs 8/14/2008

I had to have my transmission done on our car all the other shops in the area wanted to charge us hundreds of dollars more to do the repair and were going to take weeks to be able to even get to my car. As it was our only car that was not acceptable Tri-county was able to get to it right away and they charged less than the other shops in the area. Thanks for getting my car on the road again! more

They always get my cars done in a timely matter , they go over and beyond by checking everything is running properly before they even let me know my car is done. They make me feel safe knowing that my car is safe for me and my kids. more

Brought my 2002 Audi A8 Into tri-county and they had it done in a resonable amount of time and stayed within there quote. I have nothing but great reviews. I will recremend all my friends here.
