Terrible service 8/14/2007

I will not bring my cats to this hospital again, unless I have absolutely no choice. Every time I would go in, I would wait at least 20 min inside the exam room before the Vet would come in to see my cat, regardless of having an appointment. The place is not managed well. They always have only one person checking people out and one person checking people in. Even though there's a huge check out line and no one checking in, the check in person just stands there and looks out the window. Almost every time I call the place (about 4 times out of 5), they put me on hold for at least 10 min...I've timed it on my cell phone and once I was on hold for 13 min. I hung up and called back and they put me on hold again for 7 min before they picked up my call. There is one good person who works there. His name is Tama. I don't know if he is a Vet or a Vet Tech, but he is the only person willing to take the time to explain things thoroughly even though the poor guys seems like he's spread th more

Terrible Experience!! 8/6/2007

This was the first time we boarding our loving 3 yr old Lab. We went to pick her up at 3:30. After waiting about 30 min we were told she had peed on herself and she needed a bath. We thought this was odd and they asked us to come back in another 30 min. We went back after more than 30 min and had to wait about another 20 min! By this tinme we had a very bad feeling. Finally someone came out and said she had been hurt..somehow. They said she must have bumped her head while she was being bathed. Finally after insisting that they bring her out we saw a large gash on her face and another on her ankle!! Then they tried to tell us she must have done it to herself while she was in her cage. This was totally unacceptable to us and all we could do was ask for our money back since she was obviously not properly taken care of. They said no sorry. As this just happened a few hours ago I dont know the outcome. We plan to take her for a check up to our own vet. I will get my money back but its not r more

PLEASE BE CAREFUL......BEYOND DISGUSTING!!!!! 7/27/2007

We will NEVER take our dogs back there again.....We boarded our 2 elderly dogs for 3 days, expecting them to be taken care of (the outside looks nice/looks professional/high tech) but inside....nightmare. The first warning was when I called to check on them and the receptionist said "I'm sure they are ok" and when I pressed further she had no idea who they were. I had a bad feeling so I picked them up a early as I could. When I drove up someone of staff happened to be coming out of the back door with them - they were SOAKED in urine from head to toe and had feces stuck to their backsides and one had it stuck (dried) around his eyes and nose. They looked horrible (like they had just laid there for 3 days- dirty and depressed). Needless to say , I was horrified. I was extremely upset when checking out (visibly shaking/tears running down my face. They were not aware I had seen them at first. The Vet actually did not want to release them to me because they looked so bad- wanted to give the more

Great Vet, Very friendly staff, Knowledgable 5/31/2007

I found American Animal Care Center to be a great place to take my pets to. They are very friendly and pet loving. I wish my own MD was half as good. They called me back to check on how she was doing once she went home from the hospital. It was nice to have such wonderful people take exceptional care of my baby! The prices are very affordable as well. The waiting time was less than 5 minutes and the veterinarian was very information and knowledgable. more

unorganized facility 1/7/2007

Since the boarding facilities in my area were all booked for the holidays, I boarded my Dog at American Animal Care Hospital in Fremont. Their website looked great and their price was reasonable. Their website informed me that I could bring personal items, and that the dogs have two walks during the day. Neither which are true. The facility looked good on the outside and I should of known that there might be a problem based how poorly trained the staff was. No one knew much about boarding, and everyone seemed hesitant to give me a quick tour. Finally I insisted that the Manager give me a tour. When she took me to kennels they were smaller than mentioned and each kennel had dog feces in it. She apologized for what I saw and explained that they had not gotten to it yet . She stated their kennels are cleaned frequently. I was in a hurry to get to the airport so I took the Manager's word. I had no choice, nothing else was available,so I left my dog at American animal care hospital and convinced myself she would be fine. I even paid for extra services. I still feel terrible. I had to beg the staff to give my dog her personal items and I did not receive one thing back not even the container for her food. That did'nt bother me too much until I saw my pup with dried feces all over her ear and belly. She was frantic and it took me two days to get back in her normal behavior. It was very unsual for my dog. She has boarded several times and always receives compliments for her good behavior. Obviously they neglect the dogs and do not take care of your pet as they should. I expected atleast a standard, clean animal hospital. I paid for a service and did not receive the proposed service for my pup. I am not much of a complainer and feel this was very unjust. I only hope to inform others so that they always inspect the facility ahead of time and book in advance. I high suggest boarding your dog in facilities that specialize in boarding. Cons: not worth it more

AACC cares of your pets as if they were their family! 1/2/2007

I love this hospital! I am so glad that my friend told me about this reputable vet hospital. This is the best animal hospital I have ever seen. It looks like a hotel for animals. It is obvious that they must love animals based on the facility that has been dedicated for them. I especially like the exam room technicians and the veterinarians who are very knowledgeable and very conscientious. I have moved to Santa Cruz but I still make the drive down to see my vet! They are very kind and caring to my dog and they explain things in a simple manner. The fees are very reasonable and I was able to get top notch care at a very very affordable price. I have not been able to find any vet who has this combination of good service, good price, knowledgable vet, well reputed, clean facility, and convenient hours. It is hard to find such a combination. more

Great Vet, Nice Facilites, Fast Service, Good Staff 12/22/2006

This veterinary hospital is very modern and has the latest technologies and facilies. It is on the cutting edge of medicine. My favorite vet here is Dr Salwan. Not only is he very knowledgable, he also is very caring. He always remembers me and he knows my pet very well. He has a way with the pets. He seems to hypnotize my little kitty. She will do anything for him :) The staff is very nice and they are not snobbish. They are kind people and they are working hard to do a good job. The prices are affordable and there are many people to care for the pets. They are open 365 days a year and are an excellent place to take your pet for urgent care and advanced medical care. I would give them 10 stars but that is not an option. Best of luck! more

World Class Hospital in Fremont! Clean, modern, friendly, pet loving! 10/26/2006

After an exhaustive search for good vet hospitals in the Bay Area, I found this jewel of a Vet. This vet hospital is an asset to the community. The hospital is clean and modern. The staff is very caring and knowledgable. The vets are very kind to the animals and they inform you about all the possible things wrong with your pets. My favorite vet there is Dr. Salwan. He has lots of experience. He is also thorough and gentle with my pets. Angel just loved him! I wish my own MD was as good. The prices were affordable. I also loved the fact that you could board your dog and have it groomed as well. This is truly one stop shopping! I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. They had easy access to specialists who work with Dr. Salwan for advanced procedures.\r As for the review below by Stefanie-don't believe it. This must be a competitor who is trying to smear this vet hospital's good name. If it is truly a pet owner, then you are not hearing the other side of the stor more

My Dog Died Here 9/29/2006

I brought my dog to AACC when she became sick, because, I heard they had affordable prices. I made the worst mistake of my life. They are grossly negligent, incompatant, and greedy. They misdiagnosed her and in result she died. Her infection was preventable and she should be alive. Please to everyone who reads this I pray you don't make the mistake I did. PROS: You may save a buck or two CONS: But it might cost you your pets life more

Not Pet People 12/12/2005

I can't say anything good about this clinic. The wait was too long even with an appointment. The staff almost seemed frightened of my dog. They did not give us a rabies tag after our dog recieved his shot. When calling for records on my pet for an emergency, they were not able to give me a live person and the recording reported that it would take at least a week to get any papers. more
