Since the boarding facilities in my area were all booked for the holidays, I boarded my Dog at American Animal Care Hospital in Fremont. Their website looked great and their price was reasonable. Their website informed me that I could bring personal items, and that the dogs have two walks during the day. Neither which are true. The facility looked good on the outside and I should of known that there might be a problem based how poorly trained the staff was. No one knew much about boarding, and everyone seemed hesitant to give me a quick tour. Finally I insisted that the Manager give me a tour. When she took me to kennels they were smaller than mentioned and each kennel had dog feces in it. She apologized for what I saw and explained that they had not gotten to it yet . She stated their kennels are cleaned frequently. I was in a hurry to get to the airport so I took the Manager's word. I had no choice, nothing else was available,so I left my dog at American animal care hospital and convinced myself she would be fine. I even paid for extra services. I still feel terrible. I had to beg the staff to give my dog her personal items and I did not receive one thing back not even the container for her food. That did'nt bother me too much until I saw my pup with dried feces all over her ear and belly. She was frantic and it took me two days to get back in her normal behavior. It was very unsual for my dog. She has boarded several times and always receives compliments for her good behavior. Obviously they neglect the dogs and do not take care of your pet as they should. I expected atleast a standard, clean animal hospital. I paid for a service and did not receive the proposed service for my pup. I am not much of a complainer and feel this was very unjust. I only hope to inform others so that they always inspect the facility ahead of time and book in advance. I high suggest boarding your dog in facilities that specialize in boarding. Cons: not worth it
