This company claims to provide customer satisfaction but could not care less. Made a mistake diagnosing a problem with my gas furnace and refused to admit the mistake or honor the exorbitant service charge to tell me nothing was wrong. After returning home to a wet basement I was lucky to find a good technician who solved the problem quickly and professionally. Do not use these plumbers unless quality and cost are not an issue. more

I can'y say enough for Traver's. My wife and I bought a new home and shortly after we woke up to 5 inches of water in our basement due to our water heater failing. \r \r Needless to say, we were at a loss on who to call. We had heard good things about Traver's from other people who had used them and to we gave them a call. I was first impressed by how friendly and happy the person (I believe it was Emily) who answered the phone. I immediately felt like I was valued. I was surprised to find out that it wasn't going to take even 24 hours for someone to come out and fix it. Someone would be able to come out that day!\r \r They had everything they needed on hand. They came out within a few hours (and we live in Providence, mind you.) The technician got right to work and within a short time (I was amazed how short) we had our water heater replaced. No delays, no excuses, just good hard work t a great value. You don't get that very often anymore.\r \r No only was the work great and fast but the price was surprisingly reasonable. I don't know about you, but when I get someone to come out on such short notice I expect to be taken to the cleaners. Not with Traver's! \r \r Their professionalism and service has made me a customer for LIFE. If you have anything at all you need in the way of plumbing and heating CALL TRAVER'S! more

Traverse plumbing recently installed a whole new furnace/central a/c system. We converted from oil to gas so it really was a pretty big project. We will live in Portsmouth and Traverse is local here so I started looking at reviews and speaking to people and received mixed reviews. We received multiple bids for the project and Traverse by far seemed like the easiest to work with. \r Traverse did an amazing job, stayed on budget and I am 100% satisfied. I would highly recommend this company for all your heating/plumbing needs. Gary and his team are honest and hard working and what more can you ask for from a company? Gary even came to the house to do some of his work himself! I was very impressed and will be using Traverse plumbing for all my heating/plumbing needs in the future. As a new homeowner, I feel lucky to have them so close by. A+\r more

Where to begin......I've owned 6 houses in the past and this was the worst contractor I ever experienced. Indicated new heating and AC would take 2 months. Ended up taking 6 months. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses. After job had leaking pipes, etc. If possible don't use them. If you do make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. more

We went to the job because the home owner put a used well pump in after the pump went dry we 1st we had to fix what they did. There pump was sucking air so we had to dig up pipe and replace it . We did get them water but the pump was having a hard time to keep up.We did get them water for the weekend. And were going back to replace the very old well tank. They kept saying the pump was brand new so we did not replace. The other plumber replaced the well tank and still did not work after talking to owner he said after replacing wellpump it work. They had a lot of problems. They did not let us finish the job that we did not get paid for more

They spent almost a week at my house and only managed to run up a bill, dig a big hole in the yard and replace things that didn't need replacing. We had another plumber come in, diagnose and fix the problem in half a day more

I have used this company a couple times and finally decided enough was enough and stopped using them. First, I hired them for a simple leak in the pipe leading to my washing machine. It took the guy almost a whole day of work, billing hourly, and then he still wasn't sure what the issue was. Although he wasn't sure what the issue was he replaced a whole section of pipe without consulting me and billed me for it. Then the washer still leaked. Turns out it was a simple clog and the pipe just needed to be cleaned out. But I was left paying hundreds of dollars. Months later, I called them to make an appointment for a septic pumpout. After asking me my name and address, they requested my credit card number. I said why do you need this? I am just trying to make an appointment? Apparently it is their ""policy"" to get your credit card number, and test it, before they will even make an appointment with you! While my credit card works fine, I am not cool with the ""Show me the money before I even will talk to you"" attitude. So, I do NOT RECOMMEND this company. They are all about the money. Not much into actually helping or caring about their customers. Unfortunate, because I like to support local business. :( more

After seeing the same negative post listed twice, which apparently counted as two separate posts, I had to weigh in. I have used Travers Plumbing & Heating for two work locations and have never had a problem. I am most familiar with Steve, a very knowledgeable and talented technician, but honestly, every other member of their crew (at least that I have dealt with) has been professional and courteous, and gotten the job done in a very reasonable amount of time. Not only do I recommend Travers Plumbing and Heating, but call them when my home heating system needs to be serviced as well. more

Job was done quickly. Reasonably priced. Tech was courteous and efficient. Would use them again and recommend to anyone. more

Terrible experience with this company. Bill was extremely high for the services rendered. They bill according to GPS, not on the service provided. Employee can be sleeping in the truck and you are billed accordingly. I have had this service done in the past and Travers charged more than double. Called to speak to a supervisor and couldn't get past the operator. Certainly not the Mom and Pop type service I was expecting when I initially called. Certainly will not go with this company again and would not suggest them to anybody. more
