When we went to Top of The Rock we decided to go in for brunch after having a very late night on Saturday. We didn't make reservations and walked into an EMPTY dining room at 11:30 and we were asked IF WE HAD RESERVATIONS? We stated that we didn't, and then it took a minute for the hostess to see if she could find us a seat. She then took us to the CENTER OF THE ROOM WHERE THERE IS NO VIEW! All of the tables right by the window were open, and we asked if we could sit there. She replied with a very curt ""No, we save those for our reservations."" We were waited on by a very heavy set girl who seemed to judge us as soon as we sat down. We were both very tired (we had a late night the night before) and we knew we looked like it, but the last thing we needed was our server giving us the once over. She proceeded to ignore us, and talk with other co-workers. We had to wave her down more than once. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone as far as service is concerned. However, the brunch was outstanding. Kudos to the chef.
Pros: Great food, valet available
Cons: Bad service, view not guaranteed
