Tila Mortgage

I have never been so impressed with a mortgage company in my entire life and I've probably gotten at least 7 mortgages in my life time. I was referred by my neighbor and boy was he right. A great company to work with. I read some of the other remarks posted here and it inspired me to write this review about TILA. I asked my loan officer about them and he told me that the bad ones were written by a couple of competitors of TILA. If you need to guess who they are, they were dumb enough to recommend their company in their posting. Desperation makes people do weird things! Anyway, I have nothing but good things to say about TILA and I will refer friends and family. more

Go with another company! We started working with TILA Mortgage in November and were promised an interest rate that we considered to be very good. We thought the fees were quite high, but were lured by the low rate. At the very end of a GRUELING process ? consisting of horrible communication and unfulfilled promises ? we were informed TILA?s lender had its credit lines froze, so they would be unable to close our loan. We ended up going with another local mortgage company. We went with Kiel Mortgage, they were very professional and their communication was exceptional. Additionally, they saved us $2600 and matched the interest rate that TILA originally promised us. Avoid TILA Mortgage at all costs ? they are BAD NEWS!!!! more

Be very careful if you are dealing with Tila Mortgage. Make sure they have a lender before you start the process. more

My opinion is that you can do better. They tried to charge us $2900 in junk fees. Shame on them. There's not much ""Truth in Lending"" going on here. They also lost their financing (they are affilieated with Sydion Financial) due to their credit lines being frozen. Update: BEWARE !!! If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. We started the process on November 1, 10. We signed our refi papers at the title company the first week of January, waited the required 3 day recision period only to find out the following Monday that they had lost their line of credit. Now they're trying to string us along. They told me that they would issue a refund check for our appraisal on 1/14/11, it's 1/26/11 and I'm still waiting. Ken at TILA told me once I got the check to take it to my own bank to cash it and not to Heritage Bank (the bank the check is from) I think I'm screwed! more

Do your homework. Not a good experience since they lost their lender in January 2011. Just got another quote from a different mortgage company and it was $2,300 cheaper. Again, do your homework. Maybe they'll get another lender. Just call the president and see what he has to say. more

These folks are awful! Very pushy and very dishonest. They advertise themselves as Truth in Lending Mortgages - no wonder why the mortgage industry has gotten themselves in trouble if this is the company of truth! After listening to a month of TILA promises and getting the run around, I went with another local mortgage company and saved $2700 and got a better rate. My advice: only go with BBB A+ mortgage companies and check the DFI records of the company you do business with.... I wish I would have done this first I would have realized that TILA Mortgage has a record for being unsavory! We refinanced through this place, it was quick and the rate they quoted is the rate we recieved. Our loan guy was very good and knowledgeable. I will use them again more
