Editorial review from Citysearch 5/16/2013

not good to work with, during the viewing of my wife, they told me to pay in full or they will stop the funeral. they could have told me money comes 1st .make up was supplied to then, but not used. we gave them 4 special songs to be played during the funeral, their sound system was very bad. if I would have read these reviews, no way I would use this funeral home. I only hope somebody reads this & don't make the same mistake I did. I wrote a complaint on the BBB & got no help from them, like somebody got some money. To make matters worse, Thurston called me to harass me, laugh at me & when I tried to talk to him on the phone . he wouldn't let me talk. He kept saying that this never happen, even tho I have a witness & paper work from them to back my story. Never again, They made a bad day into a night mare. more

Distasteful, Unprofessional 5/20/2012

Talk about bait and switch. We were checking out area funeral homes for a pending death in our family and checked out this place. The owner greeted us and genuinely shown concern - we were very impressed and decided to work with them. When the death occurred, we were given the underlings to handle our loved one's funeral arrangements - a burnt out soul who could have cared less and a young surfer trapped in a Wall Street business suit. We were given no consideration for our requests - especially when thousands of dollars were paid on the day of arrangements to execute our plans. We had to take care of things for ourselves. Also, several family members and friends commented that there was no funeral staff to be found to assist. And, if they were around, they appeared to be telling jokes to each other. What a waste of money! more

Would not recommend 4/6/2010

Would definitely not recommend this funeral home. They were not attentive to our family's needs whatsoever. They were not available during the time of the visitation; we actually had to call their phone number just to get someone to come upstairs to assist us. They used every shortcut they could to make things as easy for THEM, rather than meeting the needs of the family, for which they are getting paid for. Very, very disappointed. Have never seen such poor service from a funeral home before. more

uncompassionate - Put flowers out for wrong service - uncooperative 7/10/2008

We sent flowers to a service at the Anoka chapel of Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, deliveing them to the homes 'flower-room'. \r \r They put the flowers out for the wrong service.\r \r When I realized this two days later, I called them to talk about this, a fellow named Steve answered, said he was 'real busy', on his way to a 'cemetery' and would call me back, well a day later no call back, I called back - someone else answered, said, ooh this was Steve's service you have to talk to steve... OK I call today and talk to Steve again, this time he had a song and dance about how they take the delivery labels out as soon as they get the flowers, had no explanation, no apology and when i pressed him as how 'we' will rectify the situation and as to why he never called me back as he had promised, knowing full well there is a grieving family that has no idea these sympathy wishes were never delivered to their service, he simply hung up on me...\r \r To their credit they did finally get the flowers more

Compassionate 11/3/2005

Both my grandmother and my grandfather's service was held here. The services we had were very well done, and the help we received in this time of grieving and inability to pull our own thoughts together to organize was outstanding. They went the extra mile to help us find what we needed. For my grandfather, they even helped us get some of the veterens to come as an honor guard during his funeral. And since the pastor couldn't be there during the ceremony at Fort Snelling, the funeral director read the notes the pastor had left for us, and reassured us that right away after we left, his remains would be picked up to be placed in his grave. All in all, it was wonderful, for such a sad and trying time. And even though I hope and pray I don't have to see anyone I know go through this again anytime soon, I would recommend these guys if it did happen.\r \r PROS: caring, compassionate, go the extra mile\r CONS: more
