I went to Thomas Cole salon for the first time in April looking desperately for someone to fix the mess a local salon had made out of my hair. I travelled from the north fork of long island to see Tommy (about 1 1/2 hours each way!!) and could not have been happier with my experience. The vibe in Thomas Cole is upscale manhattan meets chill and relaxing. Tommy and his staff were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable - Francesca is awesome! Tommy did a color correction and a cut and in a few hours completely transformed my hair. Not only was the color AMAZING, but the cut was by far the best I have ever gotten! Words can not express how thrilled I was with Tommy's work. The man is seriously a hair genious!! Since that first appointment I have been back once and the results were astounding - subtle but sexy. I am going back today and can not wait! I am getting married in a month and I could never trust anyone other than Tommy with my hair. He can do no wrong. My hair has dynamic natural highlights and the most beautiful shine and volume - Three hours of travel time is nothing when I see the results - I would follow Tommy to the ends of the earth for hair like this! I have been to this salon a few times before and have always been very happy. However, today's experience took the cake! I had a 10am appt. and was coming from Secaucus, NJ. I left at 8:30am to allow for some traffic. Since I'm so bad with directions I used my GPS. The stupid GPS took me through the Holland Tunnel instead of the GWB. OMG! I got stuck in the worst traffic ever in Manhatten! I didn't arrive until almost 12pm! I was so frazzled when I arrived because I really thought they were gonna turn me away. But they still took me! They told me to relax. They gave me a cup of coffee and got me a bagel. I couldnt believe it. I was there for the Brazilian Treatment which takes at least 2hours and they didnt turn me away. Several of the staff helped Thomas, the owner, so he could still do my hair. I was soooo impressed!!! They were fantastic! They make you feel like family. Really the sweetest people you can imagine!!! I will be back soon! You should go too!!!! Pros: Warm, friendly, relaxing, just to name a few Cons: there are none!! more

Okay everyone..Stop looking for the Best Salon and the best Hair Stylist and head straight for Thomas Cole. From the moment I walked through the door I knew I would not be disappointed. For the first time in my life, someone actually took the time to get to know me and my hair. Thomas actually looked at the shape of my face to advise the style that would look best. I am writing this review with the upmost joy...I was recommended to go to Thomas Cole by my sister at which point I was VERY hessitant. Quick background on myself, I am a male and I am very anal with the way I like to have my hair. I have been around MANY Salons, Barbershops, ""stylists"", etc...some good, some bad but have never found the ""whole package"". I can start by saying from the second I walked into Thomas Cole I received a very warm welcome by the lovely staff that offered me a drink or snack right away. Meeting Thomas was an experience of its own...If you look up the word passionate in the dictionary there will be a picture up of this man. Him and I shared idea's on what we will do and he went straight to work but from the relax to the haircut to every small detail you can possibly imagine was done with perfection from the time I sat down to the time I walked out of that door. Thomas...amazing man and very talented. His staff,,,couldnt be around better people...bottomline is I am very excited to go back next week to maintain the masterpiece Thomas did with my hair. I found this salon in a random search of the area and took the scary risk of going somewhere I knew nothing about. It turned out to be a great experience. From making the appt over the phone to the approachable attitude of the staff, I felt taken care of and relaxed. Linda was my stylist and she was super nice and gave me a haircut which I absolutely love! I haven't loved a haircut this much in a long time. I looked for a new salon for about two years. I found Thomas Cole Salons through citysearch. His reviews were outstanding. Though the prices were higher than I wanted to pay, I thought I would give it a try. From the moment I entered, I knew that I had found my new salon. The Salon's atmosphere and service was worth it. Thomas does my hair and he is so gifted at his trade. He is personable and gives you exactly what you ask for. In fact, he usually goes beyond my expectations. Going to the salon is one of my favorite things to do. I save up and go. It's a treat and I get compliments for weeks. He always does an outstanding job in every way. My daughter had her colored darkened in London where she lives. When she came home at Christmas time, she realized she hated the color. Rather than recommending a full head of highlights or something more extreme, Tom did some low lights to give a lighter effect and gave her the formula to follow up at her salon in London. That is a real professional who is not out to scalp (moneywise) you but to help with a problem. Trust is a very important aspect of a good colorist and stylist. Just moved to the area and was looking for a great colorist! I went to Thomas Cole and got so much more. Everyone there cares about the level of service. It was relaxing, confortable and I felt confident when he was doing my hair! Thomas is wonderful his personality rocks and it is just as great as his ablity to color your hair. Trust issues with my hair is something I no onger have to deal with now that I have Thomas. My friend Scheri recommended the salon to me. I knew Thomas but as I mentioned before, trust issues. Being a man with very long hair, I was always afraid to let anyone near my hair. My hair would grow down to my waist. I work in the transporttation industry and I wanted to look more professional. Thomas and his staff showed me how I could keep my hair a little long and still look professional. They also added a little color which I am happy to report came out wonderful. I have been a client of Thomas Cole for years. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else. I get endless compliments on my highlights, cut and the beautiful, shiny, silkiness of my hair that I get from the Brazillian Keratin treatments. I have had the Keratin treatment about 6 times and I am totally hooked on the way my hair feels and looks. I have been going to this salon to buy my Bumble and Bumble products until one day they were not for sale here any longer. I have to say I was annoyed by this but the woman at the desk recommended that I try the xtra gentle shampoo and d stress conditioner for everyday and also the going deep for more of a treatment. My friend referred me to Thomas Cole Salon. At first I was hesistant because I live in Manhattan, but she insisted it was worth it, and was it ever! I found the train ride was very quick, and the salon is just around the corner from the station, so it was all very convenient and worth the trip. The staff and stylists were very personable, it felt like I was hanging out with a bunch of friends, and the end result was more than I could have asked for.
