I google searched for ""mens hair cutting salons"" in my area and it brought me to these reviews! Need I say more? I had my appointment with Linda who made me feel very comfortable and was very attentive to detail. Thomas the owner came over and introduced himself between appointments, very cool....the stones were playing, awesome! The haircut was worth every penny and they dont push u out the door. It seems like they take hair very personal which is great because I feel that it is very personal. Awesome spot.... Pros: Attentive to detail,great atmosphere great music! Today was my first visit to the Thomas Cole salon and I couldn't WAIT to get home to write a RAVING review!! I have never had a more pleasant experience in my life! I suffer with some health issues that cause hair loss and I usually leave salons in tears . . today I was jumping for joy!!! When I called for an appointment and informed the receptionist that I needed to fix a horrible haircut I received recently, she gave me an appointment with Ali. What a godsend! Ali took the time to listen . . to really focus on me and my hair and after a short while, she knew exactly how she was going to approach correcting the uneven cut I was given. The final result was . . the best haircut of my life!! I also met the owner, Thomas and his sister, both wonderfully warm and inviting people that make you feel so welcomed, you really don't want to leave! :-) Everyone in the salon ( from the woman who washed my hair, to the adorable young man who handed me my salon gown) makes you feel like you are the most important client to walk through the door! I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a place to feel you have FINALLY found a hair salon that prides themselves on making their clients leave happy and anxious to come back!! Would travel any distance to have my 'natural' looking blonde hair done by Thomas - always perfect and never a problem. Very warm friendly atmosphere - accommodating, caring and courteous people.... Wish I could go there every day just to get my hair washed! more

Today I just left Thomas Cole Salon me and my hair feeling like a million bucks. I needed color correction severely but was stuck feeling as no one could possibly change what I had going on. Overly highlighted and extremely low lighted hair left me ?skunky? with a project put on any hair colorist hands. I sat in Ali?s chair and felt immediately comfortable as she put me at ease with her knowledge and expertise, as she explained what had to be done. She not only took the time to explain each step but the care she took in my hair was unbelievable. I left with the most beautiful, shiny, glossed and amazingly cut hair styled to perfection. Thomas Cole now carries this great new line of hair products called BORNE. I get the brazilian straightening done with Thomas, and the line has this extra gentle shampoo that is sodium chloride and sulfate free, which makes my hair feel super healthy and soft. I have been going to Tommy for my color for many years and he always gets it just perfect!! This week I decided to do somthing 'crazy' and have a hair cut too. Tommy recommended Ernest. The second I got in his chair he made me feel comfortable! He took time to consult with me so we both agreed what he was going to do. In the end I was completely satisfied! Hesitant to try a new stylist, because I wasn?t sure on his experience, but rest assured, Thomas Cole cut my hair that I had been growing for at least eight years (nothing but trims). Usually im very nervous and hesitant when it comes to trimming, but for some reason his demeanor relaxed me. I knew i wanted to cut my hair and I had a very specific style. He started snipping away and slowly what was long curly hair became a very short bob. I couldn?t have asked for a better hair cut. Truly an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back for color. the thomas cole salon offers a unique, one-of-a-kind salon experience! this hair salon caters to your every inch of hair. tommy is a mixing mastermind- he creates the perfect shades of blonde, brunette, red, highlights and lowlights. i've been a blonde for the majority of my life- but when i had a sudden change of heart, tommy matched the perfect shade of brown for my skintone. he really takes into account one's features and type of hair. i am now back to blonde, and once again, tommy has created an excellent look for the summertime! perfection to a tee! For the first time ever, I have found a stylist who gives me EXACTLY WHAT I ASK FOR. I have very long, curly hair and it has always been a challange for me to style and maintain. Tommy asked if I was interested in having the brazillian hair treatment done. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I have ""virgin"" hair and I didnt want to lose my curls for good. He gave me some info and explained how it would reduce the amount of breakage and split ends my hair usually has due to straightening and self styling. He also informed me that it was a protein treatment that added shine, reduced dryness and built each strands integrity. Well ladies, he was right! I have not had one bad hair day since the treatment and I have almost NO SPLIT ENDS OR BREAKAGE!!!! Not to mention, I have said so long to summer frizz! (We all know how brutal NY summers can be on a girls hair) How often have YOU said that your stylist has actually made your hair HEALTHIER, MORE MANAGABLE, and given it MORE SHINE THAN EVER BEFORE?! But let me tell you that I used to look at Julia Roberts and Debra Messing or Julianne Moore and, knowing that their hair didn't grow out looking like that I'd wonder where I was EVER going to find a salon that didn't give me a bowl of flat, red hair. OMG! the first time I walked out of TCS I almost cried with joy! I had that beautiful, vibrant red hair with highlights and lowlights that made me look like a movie star! Whether I wear my hair straight or curly people stop me while waiting to cross the street, or in an elevator or on the subway to tell me how beautiful my hair is. I work in SOHO so people naturally assume that I get my hair done in the area and are surprised when I tell them my stylist is in Great Neck. But when I them that he's a super short walk from the Great Neck train station they ask for Tommy's number. I started going while I was in school on Long Island, and now I commute from Greenwich Village in NYC to Great Neck for the perfect hair experience. I have to say, I was very loyal to my famous NYC colorist, but after meeting Thomas Cole, I decided to give him a try. He was amazing.......the salon is so beautiful and Thomas and his staff are so great. My color was even better than I could have imagined - better than it has been in years. When I first walked into ""Thomas Cole"" salon, I felt like I was in Soho and not Great Neck. Every customer is made to feel special. The service is excellent, the staff very nice and attentive. You are so comfortable that you don't want to leave. As far as a hair cut & color goes, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Tommy, the owner, is the best colorist I have ever gone to. He, also, gives a fantastic haircut. I have been getting so many compliments about my hair color & style since I started going to ""Thomas Cole"" salon. I walked into a salon in Great Neck close to fifteen years ago seeking emergency hair relief. I met Tommy, the owner and creative force behind Thomas Cole Salon. Back then Tommy was already a master of getting into the minds of his clients finding the root of their ""Hair Desires"". Tommy was quick to comfort my fears of irrepairable damage I'd inflicted upon my locks due to countless ""Big Hair"" 1980's permanents. I was introduced to Tommy by my ex boyfriend several years ago. I no longer speak to my ex boyfriend but I wouldn't ever think of not continuing to go to Tommy for my hair. After the breakup he helped me to find my new personality in a hot new hairstlye and beautiful new healthier brown hair color. Not only does my hair take less time to do, but is also less expensive and healthier. I have even introduced my younger brother and sister who have received haircuts and brazilian straightening respectively. They are hooked on Tommy as well. I have been using Tommy to color my hair for years. I had enough trust in his talents to follow his suggestion of a better and healthier look for my hair. With eyes closed the whole time I went from blonde hair below the shoulders to chocolate brown hair just below my chin. It was like extreme makeover. And the complements havent stopped since. I went to Thomas Cole for a Brazilian straightening (my first time). Tom explained everything to me beforehand and made me feel very comfortable. The salon is warm and inviting, as is the staff. I've been there twice now and it's like going to hang out with a friend. And coming out looking great! I highly recommend Tom for a Brazilian and he also cuts and styles my friend's hair and she always looks amazing.
