I wrote the first LA Best Margarita artcile years ago. Now, this one is NOT it. Okay, but nothing special. The sour mix is simply not up to the task of the better liquors. Surpris...

looking for fine dinning w/recent price? 10/27/2003

Friend and I was there last saturday 25th Oct. I forgot to make the reservation for dinner, instead we sat at the bar oder our foods and drinks there, the service was really good and friendly not to mention serve by couple cute bartenders, the food was really good, big portion, and not too pricy, I've been to alot of restaurants in hollywood, and most of the places were all overrated, but not this one... i difinately recommended. more

Exceptional 10/15/2003

I was completely impressed with all aspects of the Spanish Kitchen. We were seated immedaitely and the service was fast and accurate. The blue corn taquitos were great only wished there had been more of them. We had the Carne Ranchera which was excellent. The spicyness was just right, the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. Could have done with a slightly larger portion of beans and rice, but overall it was almost a perfect serving all the way around. I savored every bite, it was delicious. I would whole tastebudly recommend the Spanish Kitchen to friends, family, complete strangers, and politicians. It totally RAWKED!!! more

Authentic 10/14/2003

Definitely authentic mexican cuisine. Great wine list as well. I had the Carne Ranchera, prepared with a spicy salsa for a great taste. Who can beat the handmade corn tortillas that accompanied this meal. The service was excellent and perhaps a weeknight is recommended for those actually having dinner. Weekends can get crowded and most hang out at the bar. Pros: Absolutely Delicious, Fabulous Decor, Excellent Service more

NOT the best margarita 8/15/2003

I wrote the first LA Best Margarita artcile years ago. Now, this one is NOT it. Okay, but nothing special. The sour mix is simply not up to the task of the better liquors. Surprisngly, the best margarita I've found in the past two years has not been at a Mexican restaurant, but at The Grill (in The Alley), Beverly Hills. I can't afford the food, but this is the perfect drink, perhaps because of the demanding crowd. Perfectly chilled, perfect sour mix, great liquors. more

Sporty 3/24/2003

The atmosphere was great and the service from the hostess was the mostest. And the drinks are over the top, but I must say the food was a bit pricey and the portions were very skimpy. I would recommend this spot for great drinks especially the Infusions which are made with Tequila. Pros: drinks, atmosphere, cleanliness Cons: Expensive, small portions more

confusing but pleasant 3/11/2003

yes the name is confusing-we expected a 'spanish' place, and that is probably why the paella is not what it is supposed to be. Everybody else liked their food as well as the general ambience. Dinner can be a different experience there. Pros: selection of food, nice interior Cons: name misleading more

Simply Delicious 3/10/2003

I don't know what all these terrible reviews are referring to! I think the restaurant might be reading them, because I had a wonderful dining experience. I went in March 2003, and the service couldn't have been better. The margaritas are potent, the food scrumptious (Enchilada with crab meat - yumm!) And don't forget the sorbet - served inside an orange and topped with berries. I will for sure come again! Pros: Tasty food, Star quality service, Tequila selection Cons: Portions are small more

Just not that great 2/25/2003

I ate at this place shortly after it opened. We had no reservations but still got a table. Our appetizers were small and the service was slowish but that didn't bother us. I ordered a chicken mole and my friend had fajitas. The menu was really trying for a step beyond regular Mexican, but the food was just okay. I've certainly had better and much cheaper mole elsewhere. Pros: Decor Cons: Parking, Prices more

Are you hungry? 2/19/2003

If you are hungry do NOT eat at the Spanish Kitchen the portions are very small and not worth the price you pay for it. Let's be real now, rice the is the cheapest easiest thing to make, and they give you all of a tablespoon of it, if that. I was with a party of 10 and it took us 1 hr to order our food and and another 1hr just to receive our food, talk about horrible service. The Spanish Kitchen is not worth the time it takes to get seated or actually eat their so called meal. 2 thumbs down!! more
