Great atmosphere, good food 10/25/2006

The name may be misleading, but don't let that stop you from getting tasty Mexican style cuisine. Definitely go on a Monday and enjoy their Enchilada Monday's special. Most recommend their Mojito's, don't get me wrong they're good and all, but not my favorite. Wait staff have always been friendly in this beautiful and recommend restaurant. Pros: Good food, great decor and ambience Cons: A little pricey for what you get, almost have to use valet more

This is one of the best places in LA where you can have great food and great drinks... I would recomend the spanish kitchen to go on a date or with a group of friends!! the staff is very nice and oh my god!!! they have deserts to die for!!! make sure you make reservations on weekends. If you don't, be prepared for a long wait! Pros: great food! great drinks!! more

Unreliable Reservations 10/2/2006

I cannot speak for the food, but I am very disappointed with the reservations and service. I made a reservation ahead of time for a birthday party of 14 people and The Spanish Kitchen called me back a week later to tell me that they were cancelling my reservation. I was left in terrible position because I was forced to find another restaurant and notify 14 people of the change. The restaurant got great reviews and I am not discouraging anyone from going there---just warning against making an event reservation with them. more

Great place for a fun night out! 9/5/2006

I don't know why Spanish Kitchen is given such negative reviews -- the food is delicious, the servers are courteous and give great recommendations (not typical of most Hollywood hot spots), the sangria is STRONG, and the atmosphere is delightful! The enchiladas de suizas are amazing, as is the chicken taquito appetizer, and the red snapper dish is to die for! I have never had a bad experience here! Definitely give it a try if you have a large group and are looking for a fun and tasty dining experience! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience Cons: $8 chips & salsa more

nice floor and decor but a total rip off otherwise 7/20/2006

service was bad. food took forever. water only after asking several times. don't even dream of getting chips and salsa for free .... over priced and the people working there think they're just a little too important. the food itself was ok ....nothing bad nothing great. the margarita was small and again nothing to get excited over. acapulco has WAY better service, margaritas and the food is no worse. this place is all about attitude but the day the pretty people find another watering hole ..... this thing is gonna close down bronto. Pros: nice floor Cons: bad service, long waits, very poor value. you pay for every chip and dearly more

It's a fun place to go with a group of ppl. i was there on sat night and avg age of the crowd was in their late 20s & 30s. they play fun music (like a club). service was whatever. food was whatever. drinks too..whatever..decor was probably the best. The food and margaritas were amazing. My waiter on the other hand, just did not care about my table eventhough it was a slow wednesday night. However, that doesn't speak for the whole staff. I went to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend. Great service (although it was a holiday weekend and a little less crowded for than friday than usual). The food was really good and the pitcher of Sangria was plentiul. I recommend sitting in the heated courtyard if you are a small party because it is much noisier inside. Pros: Fun ambience, Yummy Food, Great service Cons: Noisy and dark inside, Slow Valet service, Not cheap more
