The Rouxpour

I went to the Roxpour on Fri May 4th with a group of friends from UHSSL. First sitting at the bar @4.30 and ordered a Bud Light, then @5pm, I bought another Bud Light for my professor.That was it.. During the time there, I checked my account and they said it was closed. I was so surprised that I did not signed any check so I confirmed again before I left the bar that if my check was closed. Went home and see on my online banking, it shows Pending Misc. Debit POS DEBIT THE ROUXPOUR SUGAR LAND TX $38.50 I don't know where the amount from. Very bad service since how could they charge my credit account without checking if i was the one who signed the check..Very caress. Called to the restaurant and talked to the manager. He gave a promise he would clear it away and fix the error. Today I check again, the amount is still there and pending. Very disappointed with the working way of the Roxpour!! Gonna call again today more

My husband and I recently married, and decided to have our rehearsal dinner at this establishment, because it was close to the wedding venue. We went to visit the restaurant before making any reservations, and upon first entering, we knew it was the place for us. We wanted to have an area that wasn't totally secluded from all the fun, as we are laid back people, where prices weren't astronomical. The service was great, the food was great (especially the specialty oyster appetizer! YUM!). We decided to reserve the patio for our rehearsal dinner. Lyndsey, the woman who helped us through the process, was absolutely wonderful from the start! She answered my emails quickly, helped me pick out a menu, and gave me other options besides having an open bar. After our event, she even emailed me to congratulate my husband and me on our nuptials, to thank us for choosing their restaurant, and to make sure everything was up to my standards. And it absolutely was! The waitresses (we had two, although their names escape me) were professional and organized. They took our orders quickly, got our drinks out quickly, made sure our food was served in a timely fashion, and made sure everyone always had water or anything else they might need. The manager even made his way over, and bought some of our group a round of shots, and thanked us for coming to their restaurant. All in all, I don't have one complaint about Rouxpour. It is a great place to eat some tasty food, relax, or have a special dinner. I highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to organize a large party. THANKS ROUXPOUR! A group of us (9 ppl & a 2yr old) went for Mother's Day on a reservation we made a week prior for 11am. We were not informed previously that there would only be a brunch served til 2pm that day. You could order nothing off the menu AT ALL. The website also doesn't mention it anywhere. So being Mother's Day & not able to just leave and go somewhere else without a 2 hour wait, we all stayed for the brunch buffet. It was mostly breakfast items that were ""okay"" & very few lunch items that really weren't anything special. It didn't even seem to be any items off their menu! We were all really looking forward to eating off what looks to be a wonderful menu. Truly sad we didn't get to do so. But the worst part was the buffet was $27.99!!!!! AND they added gratuity to it! I get that for large parties, but for a buffet?!! Our server was really nice, but she didn't have too much to do for us. We would have tipped her well & felt good about it as over half the group is in the industry!! But instead it left a sour taste in our mouth! I admit we should have asked the price, but we were kind of stuck! Prior to seeing the price & gratuity, we were all considering when we could go back during the week to try out some of the delicious looking items on the menu...but nevermind now! Won't be giving them another dime of my $$$. Truly sad way of doing business! more

A real live non-corporate restaurant/bar in Sugar Land! This place has the best outside seating area around. Lot's ot seating, early shade... and the large french doors leading into the restaurant are opened on cool days making the outside feel like inside. The food is New Orleans style and they do it right! Gumbo is outstanding... the fried catfish is thin sliced and lightly battered... very, very good! The Rouxpour Pasta is full of seafood and sauced to perfection. more
