The Pet Palace

PLEASE do not take your pets here. I took my dog to be groomed and when I picked her up she had petechial hemorrhaging in both eyes. At some point during my dogs grooming she was strangled and it caused the blood vessels in her eyes to rupture. I met privately with the owners, but they could not give me an explanation as to how this happened even though there were cameras in the office where I spoke to them. They did offer to refund my vet bills, but not the cost of the grooming. I declined wanting them to understand that it was not about the money, but about my dogs safety. I knew when I walked out of the door that they were not going to do anything to change the safety of their facility. I dropped my dog off trusting in the care of Pet Palace and they failed to provide her with care that I (very expensively) paid for. Now I will only take my dog to a groomer where I can see her at all times and know she is safe. Please don’t let what happened to my dog happen to yours. \r \r I find it strange that the owners of The Pet Palace call reviewers ""crazy"", blaming bad reviews on disgruntled ex-employees. I was referred by a friend I met at the dog park about a month ago and decided to check this place out. My dog has been going for daycare since and I love it. She comes home worn out, i get lots accomplished and then when it is time to go again she gets so excited when we turn on the street! All the raves I hear about this place at the dog park were true! Very friendly staff as well! more

We have used Pet Palace in the past for boarding and were very pleased however that is so not the case anymore. Our dogs stayed there this past weekend and the first sign that something had changed should of been the odor in the boarding area. We overlooked this and left the dogs for the weekend. This morning we noticed hundreds of small brown bugs all over the dogs as well as the areas where they sleep. Initially we thought they were fleas but after taking the animals to the vet we found out that they are actually baby ticks. Now all the dogs have to be on medicine for 3 months and the house has to be exterminated. Obviously we are EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED!\r \r more

I don't trust a place that puts fake & phony goodsie reviews about themselves. What happened to all the ""real"" ones that were here. You delete the ""real"" ones and put your own fake goodsie ones. Sad guys!! Really sad! Cons: NOT a member of ABKA more

Used this place when they opened until we moved to Florida 4 years ago. Was shocked to see a few of the negative reviews and figured I at least owed it to myself and my dogs to find out if this place really did go down hill. \r \r I am so glad that we did, it is just as wonderful as ever. In fact we recognized several of our favorite staff faces that were here when we lived here before including the owners which are still very hands on. \r \r We just love them and are so happy to be able to use them again now that we are back. I tried to tell my neighbors about them but they already use them as well I just found out! I don't think it could be any better except if they were open all day on Saturday.... Love this place. I understand that everyone has different experiences and all dogs react to situations differently as well. I see all the negative comments on here but not all the good comments from the tons of happy pet owners that take their animals to the Pet Palace every day.\r \r I have 3 dogs (2 adults and 1 puppy) - the adult dogs have been going to the Pet Palace for almost 2 years now with absolutely no incidents. Infact, my male adult was terrifed of all grooming places until we put him in daycare at the Pet Palace. Now he literally knocks me down to get into the truck to go to daycare as does my other adult dog. I started taking my puppy to daycare at 3 months old and not one issue - the puppy is now 8 months old and loves daycare and has been boarded at the Pet Palace as well with no issue. Both adult dogs have attended many training sessions at the Pet Palace and I was very pleased with the quality of training and the over experience. \r \r All said there are always 2 sides to every story so responsible pet owners should thoroughly investigate the kennel, etc before basing your decision on an online review of any kind. I will NEVER take my dogs back here again! They came home with almost all of their medicine. They had just enough to take the whole time they were there. They need it every day! And they coulnd't even have their own beds. A friend went by to check on them and they had a torn sheet lying on the concrete, that was it! She said the whole kennel smelled. For these prices, people please!! Cons: bad place more

I went to the Pet Palace after it had been reccomended by many ladies in my bunco group. I am not the boarding type, I would much rather someone just come to my home. Apprehensively, I called to make an appointment. The lady I talked to was so friendly! She even invited me to come by and take a tour of the facility prior to boarding. (I visited a few other kennels on my way to the pet palace that day, and none of them would let me see the kennels) The person who gave me the tour was wonderful. They have really thought out every expected and unexpected situation, and what they would/ could do for your pet. They also offer playtimes with other dogs which I felt was an awesome extra! \r \r My pet was approved for play with other dogs and now attends as often as I can make arrangements! All I have to do is mention the words ""Pet Palace"" and she sits by the door with her tail wagging. \r \r Thank you Pet Palace for taking such great care of my furry friend\r \r Pros: Customer service, my pet loves it! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable not only about pets but pet food’s etc. They turned me on to high quality food which they feed all the pets in the kennel that stay there. That is something that I have never experienced prior in all my years of being a dog mom! I also have to say that Darrell’s training methods have had a direct impact on my dogs’ behavior. I had tried many methods over the years with past pets and this is by far been the most effective. The staff also reinforces the training when he stays there. My dog even thinks this place is great, he starts wagging his tale when I turn off of Hwy 3 headed towards The Pet Palace. What better reference can you get then that!!! The Pet Palace has been absolutely wonderful to my four pets!! I have two poodles and two labs. They are very spoiled by me and by the great team at the Pet Palace. I Know that while I am away ,my dogs are in GREAT care!! I booked my dogs in a King suite with in/out privileges for one week. I think we paid over $80 a night for boarding them. When a family member checked on them on day two, she found them in a regular kennel in ""general population"". When she complained she wasn't told why they were moved. Two days later she went by again. SAME STORY, different day. \r \r When I returned and was told what happened, I demanded a refund. I was given a 10% discount. Oh, wow, that's awesome. That's still more than what it would have cost to board them in the kennel they were kept in. \r \r I spoke with the owner, Darryl, who wasargumentative. He would give no reasons for doing what he did other than they ""had to do maintenance."" My guess is they overbooked so they put my dogs in the low grade regular kennels instead of in their own suite with their own fenced in area.\r \r I would highly recommend NOT going there for any service -- boarding, grooming, training, or daycare. In my opinion, the place truly lacks a heart. The concern should be first and foremost on the comfort & well-being of their charges, which apparently is about #10 on their list of concerns.
