Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

ripoff 12/7/2010

If your paying full price for this school you are way overpaying and are investing your time and energy into something that will not help you be a better actor. The Teachers are great and really nice in my opinion but the owner is not nice and develops opinions about you in the first 5 seconds he sees you. The $800 and $1600 price tag is way overpaying for what you learn here, which in my opinion is nothing. Many of the reviews below are fake and you can tell because the dates are the same and the only review the users have submitted are for this school only. This ""school"" is run based on money and there is no passion for acting whatsoever, it is give us our money and then we will teach you to become an actor. I have been to many acting schools and by far this is the biggest waste of time, energy and money I have ever spent. more

Everyone agrees: great classes and teachers! 6/14/2010

There is a negative review below in which the poster admits that the CLASSES and TEACHEARS are GREAT, and yet this person gives The Acting Corps one star because they had to sign a paper saying they would be on time for class, ect. How does this work? Even negative reviews praise the classes and teachers! Pros: classes, teachers, subject matter more

Beware Acting Corp 1/28/2010

Ok. Honestly. Before this review gets lost beneath the hundreds of positive reviews problay posted by the owners, or kids who work there to help promote the school. Pros: Excellent Teachers who have no investment in the school. Cons: Dirt bag owners. Over priced. Bad business. Not accredited. more

Great Referral 12/3/2009

I was new to town and this guy I met in Hollywood said I should check out the place. I did, it looked cool, so I took some classes. I loved it. Who would have though some random guy in Hollywood would give me such a great referral. Now I recommend it to you. Pros: Great teachings and teachers. Lots of parking more

THE BEST ACTING SCHOOL IN LOS ANGELES! 8/16/2009

I have been studying at the Acting Corps for over a year now and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the school! I have learned a great deal about myself and the kind of actor I want to be. The teachers do not coddle your bad habits, but instead, give you the tools to break free of them. Through technique work, scene study, cold reading and on-camera classes I have seen this craft in a different light and one that will be a lifelong journey. the Acting Corps has made me appreciate life and art more intensely, and in return, I have been able to love deeper and enjoy life on an entirely new plane. Pros: Conservatory training at a reasonable price more

Love the Corps! 6/10/2009

I love this school! I am close to finishing BC 2 and my eyes have been opened to a whole new world. So many acting issues I had have been addressed. I tried another popular ""factory"" school in town and I only got to do scene work once a week. I left because it wasn't enough. Here, I am active and up there working every day. The teachers are working actors, they know a lot about technique and scene work is always mind-blowing. And their career advice has been so invaluable. Better to get it from people who are out there doing it. And even when the teachers have auditions, they still come to class, prepared, alert! How do they do it? I wanna be like that! It's a very professional environment. We had a couple of flakes in the class and they didn't stay around for too long, they were asked to leave. No room for negative people, thank you! more

Best Training 6/1/2009

I have been attending the Acting Corps for a while now and I have learned so much that it is hard to summerize it here. I have also gained so many valuable skills and tools to better understanding the world of acting and auditioning and working as an actor. I have learned it all from the Acting Corps. This school claimed to have over 1000+ members that are now on IMDB and after attending this school it is clear why they are so effective, and that You can also be another one of there success stories just like me! Pros: Precise training for odays actor to get you ready! more

I love the Acting Corps! 5/26/2009

I fell in love with the Acting Corps because of the atmosphere and the style of teaching. It is an intense course that focuses on the technique of the craft. The teachers are professional actors themselves so they give you the knowledge on how to survive in today's industry, while also giving you the tools you need to book jobs. I have fallen in love with acting because of the Acting Corps! The number is different though... it is 818.753.2800.... My favorite quite applys, ""Go and try!"" Pros: The best place to study... if you're serious about acting! Cons: Be ready to dive in without fear more

The Right Choice 4/4/2009

I've been doing this thing called acting for a long time, and I have been to many schools, but I can truly say that The Acting Corps really changed my view of things, and my direction. It was a hard decision for me to make when I first signed up as it was a five-day a week commitment, but I made the right choice. Pros: Everything more

Best Experience of My Life 3/30/2009

I flew in from Germany to go to this school, so I was afraid this would not be what I was hoping it would be. I did some Meisner Technique classes before in Munich but never really got what the whole thing was about. And I?d heard such great things about The Acting Corps from my friends that I decided to check it out for myself. So I talked to Nigel on the phone and he explained it all for me. So far, this is the best experience of my life. Sidney, my scene study teacher, even offered to help me get a manager, she?s super cool and makes you believe in yourself. I would never go anywhere else than The Acting Corps. Pros: I love the Teachers Cons: N/A more

No other place like the Acting Corps. 3/28/2009

I?ve been to The Acting Corps, since Boot Camp I, and II, and now in The Advanced Program. I came in from a four year Bachelor?s degree, not really knowing what I was doing and now I?m like miss career chick. Pros: Eugene Buica Cons: No drawbacks at all!! more

Great Teachers, Great Program 3/24/2009

I loved the Acting Corps and have no complaints at all. They have great teachers and a great program. I would go so far as to say it was a life changing experience. This is not a school that tells you that you?re amazing if you?re not, this is one of those school that MAKES you amazing if you are not. Easily a five star school. Bootcamp rules! Pros: Great teachers, great program more

Life Changing Experience 3/24/2009

The Acting Corps and Eugene Buica got me to Los Angeles. This school that Eugene created is exactly what they say it is. Amazing training in a couple of months. There?s a lot of stuff I could say about The Pros: Amazing Training more

love this school!! 3/20/2009

When I first moved to LA I was looking for a place to stay fresh and work out as an actor between my auditions and acting work. I have tried quite a few schools and felt that they were politely beating me down... to ""rebuild"" / ""keep me in class so they could make money"" so i'd be ""ready"" to work. Anyway... I was referred to The Acting Corps by a well known T.V. actress. I went through BC1 then 2 and am currently in AP. I absolutely feel that this place builds upon the skills I already have and allows me to stretch the muscles that need developing. PLUS they encourage me to go out and get jobs, and sincerely congratulate me when I do! The teachers don't sugar coat the notes given each class, which I like, you can't be 'perfect' and learn at the same time :) (although we actors are perfectionists) I also love that this school combines techniques. I'm of the belief that the more techniques (Meisner, Chekhov..) to draw from = the better. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Acting Corps to any of my fellow actors looking for a place to grow in LA!! Pros: fun, dedicated teachers, great peers more

Serious actor, seriously working 3/18/2009

A little about my background: I have studied acting for about five years. I moved to Los Angeles three years ago to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. I have taken classes all over town (workshops, intensives, on camera classes, etc). I was working sporadically, but nothing like I had hoped. About a year ago I was pretty much done with acting, and was even thinking about moving home. A guy that I had worked with at the time had just finished boot camp 2 at the Acting Corps and told me about it. I looked up their website, called them and asked some questions and was pretty skeptical, honestly. I let a month go by, and I kept thinking about it, and finally decided I was going to give this thing one last shot. Pros: everything, learn from the best teachers in town more

Don't waste your time. 3/18/2009

Not worth my time and money. Why pay money to go somewhere that is looked down upon by Casting Directors and the rest of the Industry. Also, the owner is a pompous rude jerk, and I don't feel good giving my money to a place knowing they are lining his pockets. more

Ripoff Artist 3/16/2009

The guy that is running this school is a Drama Queen and so are the people in the office. They have had a few good teachers come through there, but their goal is one thing ....MONEY.... meaning yours. Their heart is not in the right place when it comes to acting. Don't be fooled by the Veneer. After they shuttle you through the quickly paced Boot Camps, you have no where to go except a muddled Advanced Program. If your still thinking about going, ask them how many teachers have they gone through in the last year and how few stay. Maybe 2 teachers out of 10, that says something. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

it's not the greatest!!! 2/24/2009

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying him!!! The only thing they got going for themselves is the technique teacher, Dariush Kashani.....without him I honestly believe that majority of the students would drop out. If you're able to get him as one of your teachers i say go for it....if not look else where. more

be careful! 12/15/2008

I agree with the previous. Don't waste your money here. Some of the other teachers are good but all the best of them leave very quickly because of the owner. more
