Review content:
When I first moved to LA I was looking for a place to stay fresh and work out as an actor between my auditions and acting work. I have tried quite a few schools and felt that they were politely beating me down... to ""rebuild"" / ""keep me in class so they could make money"" so i'd be ""ready"" to work.
Anyway... I was referred to The Acting Corps by a well known T.V. actress. I went through BC1 then 2 and am currently in AP. I absolutely feel that this place builds upon the skills I already have and allows me to stretch the muscles that need developing. PLUS they encourage me to go out and get jobs, and sincerely congratulate me when I do!
The teachers don't sugar coat the notes given each class, which I like, you can't be 'perfect' and learn at the same time :) (although we actors are perfectionists)
I also love that this school combines techniques. I'm of the belief that the more techniques (Meisner, Chekhov..) to draw from = the better.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Acting Corps to any of my fellow actors looking for a place to grow in LA!!
Pros: fun, dedicated teachers, great peers
