Best

Signing up for the Bootcamp was a gig deal for me, a big investment. After I did it, I got nervous, wondering if I did the right thing. But after the first day of class I knew I m...

Worst

I agree....the owner is an absolute idiot!!!! He doesn't give the students the time of day. And is always in a bad mood.....he needs to remember it is the students who are paying ...

Important things are not always easy 4/26/2014

Look, acting is not easy, it's hard! Some people come to LA thinking it's easy. You have to be willing to go to the brink and beyond when it comes to your personal development, and The Acting Corps support their actors in this. Some people want a nice, neat, calm acting school that will take your money, pat you on the head and tell you what a good job you did, even if you suck. The Acting Corps does NOT do this! If you're looking for this, The Acting Corps is not for you. If you put in the work and don't give up, you will see changes in yourself you never thought were possible. I've a better person because of this school, more emotionally there. I know who I am now. more

I applaud them 4/20/2014

I think this is a great place to take an acting class if you are new to acting and want to lean, or if you have been around town and want to get better. The program is very intense and there's lot of technique taught here. Great classes. Having taken acting classes at other studios in Los Angeles over the years, I have to applaud The Acting Corps. They are incredibly knowledgable about the industry, and thus you feel honored to be a part of the program. more

School for Film 4/13/2014

I was a master of theater in Missouri, my home for twenty two years. I was the lead in all the High School productions and in college. I knew Missouri isn't the center of the film industry, or even on the map, so I came to LA. I ended up at the Acting Corps and learned a lot. I was a good actor when I got there, but I was a good stage actor. If you don't know the difference, then you have a lot to learn. I did. Everything I did was big, I needed to be small and subtle. I also loved Meisner, which I didn't know about before I cam to town and to the Acting Corps. Great teachers. more

Not the same song 4/6/2014

All around the world it's the same song. I've been to many cities, and everywhere I go there are so many acting schools looking to make a buck, and often they have little of nothing to sell. I am glad to report that the cats at The Acting Corps are not this way, they have a lot to offer. A lot to teach. I have sent so many people there now, and I don't give my boys bad info, so you can trust me when I say it's worth the time and paper. more

Meisner and The Acting Corps 3/30/2014

Many things have been said about Meisner and The Acting Corps. Some say their program is too fast and you wouldn't really learn, THIS IS NOT TRUE! I went there, and I did feel overwhelmed at first, but I worked hard, did both Boot Camps and the Advanced Program, and I feel I am a very good Meisner actor. And then acted with a guy who had been to a two year program at a well known Meisner school, and we did some repetition, and I there was no difference. He was shocked because when I told him I'd been to The Acting Corps, he got all snooty and superior, but I showed him. FYI: The film we did came out great. more

Pleasently Surprised 3/23/2014

I was so pleasently surprised that I worked in every class, and I mean really worked, not just on stage for a warm up. I read that in the reviews on some website (maybe this one), but I was skeptical because so many classes I have taken before have made me sit and watch for at le3ast a third of the classed I paid for., But this is NOT how it is at The Acting Corps. And I learned a metric ton. more

Made some good friends 2/23/2014

I've been in LA for a minute, and I have not made a ton of friends. That was until the acting corps. I have kept in touch with most of the people in my class. I know, making friends is not what you go to a class for, but that really was priceless to me. The actual classes were also great, and I learned a lot, but I think the other reviews on this site sum that up well. And as these new friends are actors, we support each other in out careers. I'm developing a webseries with a couple of them, hopefully we will all hit it big together. more

Simply the Best 1/19/2014

Simply the best. Better then all the rest. Grade A acting training. I can't recommend it enough. They have created an environment of learning and hard work that will work wonders on anyone who wants to put the work in. It's about being in the moment and now worrying about doing things wrong. There is no wrong. As soon as people stop trying to be right, then they give themselves the freedom to be great. . more

Expanding Myself 1/11/2014

Acting can be a very frustrating career choice. I was out here in Los Angeles for a couple yeas, did a few thing, but then it went dead. Nothing. So I was about to give up and go home. I decided to give it one more push with some money I got when my grandfather died, and I picked the Acting Corps because they are an intensive program, and I did not want to waste any more time. It was an eye opening experience. While there were some characters I could play, I was very much a very specific character actor, and I'm sure people could see I was not ready to expand. The skills I got at The Acting Corps allowed me to play all sorts of things. There were scenes I was given that I thought I could never play, but in the end I did, and I did well. I ended up taking classes there for three months, and that was last year, and I am still in town, booking projects that I never would have booked without them!! more

Under the Radar 1/4/2014

The Acting Corps is mentioned when people speak of the best schools in LA, but it should be. It's NOT one of those places that trades off one person's name, then then has other teachers that suck. At the Acting Corps, all the teachers are great. Maybe it's the name of the place, but I can not figure out why their them names isn't included in the list of best schools in Los Angeles. more

Do the Work and Be an Actor 12/22/2013

If you want to do well in this business, show business that is, you have to have the training. You can't skip it and go for the fastest and cheapest choice because you will get what you pay for in that case. I did my research and decided to go with The Acting Corps, and it has brought the results I expected. I know I am a much better actor, and I get more auditions. As for the school and the details about it, it is Meisner based, but they teach much more then just Meisner. This is NOT one of those places that makes you repeat for a year. The teachers are great, great SFV location. Nice facilities. more

The Smart Choice 12/15/2013

I'm no genus, but I know what I like, and I like The Acting Corps. I have checked out many schools, and none spoke to me like the A.C. Most classes I take I get something from, but I don't stay beyond the first month, but I have been going to the Acting Corps for the better part of a year, and I will probably be there for a few more months before I even think of trying a new place. They are fantastic! more

Believe the Hype 12/8/2013

I see a lot of people have said nice things about the Acting Corps here, and this is great, because they are a great place. This is the first review I have ever written, and I am doing it because I thought they were a really sound operation. I liked this school a ton. I learned a lot. Great teachers that care and know what the F--- they are talking about. Listen to them! Listen to me, and check this place out. more

I learned a lot here 11/24/2013

The Acting Corps is a great place to learn the craft of acting in a safe and fun environment. Jeeze, that sounded like a cheesy promo line, but it's true. I really do encourage this place to Los Angeles based actors. Wait a minute... there is already too much competition in Los Angeles, I shouldn't be telling people to go here, I should be telling not to, because if you go here, you will be a better actor. I'm conflicted. But seriously, it's a great place. more

This place rocks. 11/17/2013

This place rocks. Run by Eugene Buica, and he and the other teachers show the students the tricks of acting. It doesn't matter if you're a veteran or a novice, this school will definitely help you in whatever your goals are for the acting industry. They truly care about the success of their students. It is a five day a week program, so you WILL work. And when I say five days, that is five days of working, there is no sitting there and watching others act day after day, you will be up there working every day. more

Welcoming and comfortable studio 11/10/2013

Working confidentially in a welcoming and comfortable studio creates safety and success. The Acting Corps is such a place. Since studying at The Acting Corps, my career has moved forward, my auditions and performances have improved, my grounding and confidence are greatly improved, and my work with text has accelerated and deepened. The guidance I've received there has been spot on. The right tools at the right time to help you get the most out of a scene. more

One of the best 11/3/2013

Located in North Hollywood, The Acting Corps might not be the most well known school in Los Angeles, .but I think it's one of the best. Very underrated. The school put out great actors which win praises from agents and managers, and then casting directors. The Acting Corps is dedicated to providing that venue for now actors and more experienced alike actors that want to get better to grow and develop their acting chops. more

Work in every class 10/27/2013

The curriculum is very comprehensive and you get up and work in every class, there are no days where you just sit back and watch (I detest classes that make you pay to watch). My personal favorite was the Meisner class, as that was what really taught me to be in the scene and in the moment and to listen to other person in the scene. What's the bottom line? If you want to study acting in Los Angeles. it's gonna be hard, but the Acting Corps is going to put you a step above a lot of the other people here. You might even learn some things you never intended to, being in the moment in real life is also important. That is the mark of a valuable education. more

Highly effective school in training students 10/20/2013

The acting corps is a highly effective school in training students for success in the field of television and film. The teachers are knowledgeable and passionate people who positively encourage their students toward excellence. Furthermore, when I was there, they put on a showcase with about thirty agents and managers, and almost everyone ended up with representation.. Rather than read reviews penned by satisfied or unsatisfied people (you can never make everyone happy), go there and check out the school, talk to the staff and students. Or you can just trust me and sign up (= more

I want to Thank The Acting Corps 10/6/2013

I am so grateful to have the Acting Corps and it’s teachers. The school is truly a gift. This is what I say to them: "Thank you for everything you've done for me. Your classes have been wonderful! I'd like to pursue acting to wherever it might take me. In my 20 years it's the first thing I've ever been passionate about. Your support, encouragement, knowledge, experience and passion for this art and your honesty towards your students has helped me grow and evolve. " more
