If you don't need help, this gym is for you 8/11/2009

I joined this gym almost 3 years ago. Most of the equipment functions although it's not new and some are difficult to adjust because of age. I enjoy working out and feel better and the rate is fairly reasonable compared to other facility but you get what you pay for. In all my time there, I have had no assistance with workout routines or the machines. The person who signed me up got fired the next day, the next person ""forgot"" to ""fill out"" a routine for me, the next person just didn't have time, etc. If you ask for help, it is made clear you are bother and you will not get any smiles or hellos or offers of help. If you are young, slim and pretty, you will probably get attention from the fairly new male manager but other than that, don't expect any personal training. A few months ago, I actually got my hopes up a little because a new girl was walking around with a clipboard doing ""surveys"" regarding your experience with the gym. I told her my experiences and she said she would pass on the information to the new manager. I never heard a word. What she was really doing was collecting names to try to sell memberships. It's not filthy, it's not peeling paint, it's just a room with equipment to use. If you are ok with that, then join. If you need help or like to feel warm and welcome, don't join. Pros: Most equipment in decent shape Cons: Zero customer service, zero assistance, cold and unwelcoming more

HORRIBLE PLACE TO JOIN 6/7/2009

CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN IF JOINING ONE OF THESE PREMIERE GYMS. I HEARD THEY ARE GOING DOWN IN BUSSINESS. ITS UNDERSTANDABLE THE STAFF IS HORRIBLE THEY ONLY GOSSIP LIKE CRAZY. THE MACHINES ARE NOT WIPED DOWN AND NOT MAINTAINED-- MRSA IS JUST LOOKING FOR YOU. THY CON YOU INTO JOINING. AND THE OWNER OF THE GYM DOESNT EVEN SHOW HIS FACE WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE. MONEY, GREED, SIN IS ONLY IN THESE GYMS. AND JEFF, JD, AT THE PREMIERE IF THEY DONT CHASE AFTER THE WOMEN AND GET THEM THEN THEY ARE BLACK LISTED AND ANY FALSE MOVE OR ACCUSSATION THEY CAN COME UP WITH THEY WILL. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THEM. AND THE PREJUDICE THEY HAVE FOR RACES, FAT MEN AND WOMEN, WHAT IS THE POINT OF JOINING THIS GYM. LADIES AND MEN READ THIS AND TAKE THIS AS A WARNING TO JOINING THEIR GYM. LA FITNESS AND NEO-LIMITS ARE WONDERFUL PLACES TO JOIN GO SEE THEM. OR IF FAMILY ORIENTED THE YMCA STILL WORKS ITS WONDERS. DONT GET CONNED DEAR FRIENDS. THEY WILL SIGN YOU AFTER THE 3RD DAY THERE IS NO 30 DAYS FREE TRIAL PERIOD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE BY JOINING. more

Sharon and Denise ROCK!!! 11/19/2008

I've been a member of the club for 3 years and recently renewed my account. I had some issues with billing mix-up due to National Fitness problems; however, Sharton and Denise graciously fixed the mess and saved me mega bucks in the process!! These are great, caring people and the atmosphere at the gym is outstanding!! My daughter goes religiously and I, too, am finally on the road back to fitness. Thanks Sharon and Denise!!!!! You're the bright spots of Premiere! =) {{{HUGZ}}} Forever grateful, Angie A. Pros: Sharon and Denise/Staff are extremly helpful and compassionate! Cons: Billing through National Fitness...ugh! more

If you want to be cheated....go to LADY PREMIER FITNESS 10/9/2008

I first heard bout 'Lady Premier' on my fav. radio station offering free summer member ship for the 1st two callers. I'm sure everyone who called was a winner. So I set off to the location where they made me pick up my free passes which was 25 min. away. I asked if I could pick them up at my closest 'LP' which was only 10 min...and I explained to them that I was very uneasy about going that far with my fussy newborn....but they insisted that I HAD to pick them up at the futher location. Pros: Nothing Cons: Nasty, Lying, Pushy staff more

Highly Recommended 6/30/2008

I think Premier Ladies Fitness is great. I just renewed for 3 more years after being a member for the last 4. The best part is that it's all female, but there's lots of equipment, and it's especially impressive how many bikes, treadmills and ellipticals they have. It's also nice that there's lots of bottles of cleaners and paper towels to wipe the equipment down after use. The staff is nice, and I would highly recommend it. more

I feel skinny again-Thanks Premier 3/21/2008

this is the cleanest club in town! when you walk in you are amazed at the amount of cardio equipment you have to choose from. I can walk, run, step, and bike . All together!! I have learned about how to properly workout. The staff has helped me reduce my stress levels and help me to loose stubborn belly fat and tremendously improved my self esteem !! i have gone from a size 14 to a size 5 , and l lost 62 lbs. I didnt do this on my own, the staff at premier helped me. I can tan, have my kids taken care of, take zumba, swim, workout. or just relax in the whirlpool, all in the same day, what more can you ask for!!!!! Pros: everything all under one roof Cons: false complaints on this website more

BEST PLACE TO WORK/WORK OUT...... 3/15/2008

First off I have read all the reviews. I was a member for years before I decided I would like to work here (Kettering). A lot of what I am reading is the frustration of contracts, results, equipment, etc. more

i started going to the gym about two months ago and i love it the convience of the daycare hours is wonderful when i am a working mom. all the staff is just wonderful, they have helped me loss 4 1/2 inches and 3% of body fat in just one month that is great for someone that has never commetted to working out before. sure i have been to other gyms but i always found myself not going after about the secound time, i have went to this gym everyday faithful and spend about two hours there a day, it is such a comfortable enviroment. i just cant say enough good things about this gym Pros: every thing from the staff to the daycare, the facility, and classes Cons: the only cn would be if you dont join more

Best in Area 2/17/2008

This is my third year at Premier Ladies Fittness. I am always greeted with a friendly hello when I come in and have never had a problem with the equipment and there is always a well qualified trainer available . All my experiences with this location have been more than satisfactory to the point that I recommended this location to my daughter and grand daughter. Both ended up joining and to my knowledge are also happy with their decision to join. Of course there are occasional equipment breakdowns but this is to be expected and since the new management has taken over there has been more in the way of improvements. We were asked what needed to be improved and asked to be reasonable in our expectations some improvements take more time. We asked for rubber mats in the pool area and they were promptly put down .I have made many new friends, my doctor is pleased with my improved health and I feel great since I began working out I suppose that if anyone signed a blank contract they would also give a car dealer a blank check or signed a contract to puchase a car with out knowing the price or condition of the car being purchased. more

Lousy Temperature Control 1/7/2008

\r \r I joined for the fitness classes, primarily Zoomba. I have taken several other types of classes as well. The instructors are good, some are outstanding. However, I am really tired of spending an hour of intense activity in a room with a temp of 80 degrees or more! (If you believe what the thermostat indicates, I've got a bridge to sell you.) We routinely steam up the mirrors. In a zoomba class last week, everyong's tennis shoes were squeaking because the humidity in the room was so high. Today my hands were slippery when doing push-ups on the floor. They place trashcans in the room under the AC ceiling vent because it drips. When a class complains about the heat, a staff member will finally come in when the class is almost over and turn up the air. This problem occurs no matter what season of the year. I have repeatedly voiced my frustration on this issue to the manager - promises are made, things may get better for awhile, but then shortly it's a veritable steam room again. When my year is up, I will be looking around to see what other options are available. more

Mediocre at best 12/20/2007

First off the gym has been really good for me. Second everything else needs improvement. The pushing sales people are super annoying and most of them look trashy, the 'ladies' that run the desks bring fast food into the gym and eat while ladies are sweating their butts off, the staff in general is not only clue-less but dangerous in instructing new people. I'm NOT talking about the group class instructors - they are certified and decent. I'm talking about the friends and relatives of whoever hires that are really sales people and pretend to know anything about working out. the 'new' sales ladies that won't even say hi to members If you're already paying them they don't give you the time of day. most of the equipment is good, there's a variety of free weights and a machine for nearly every muscle group. when the group classes are filled there is a lack of weights, several of the treadmills are constantly broken, the ceilings leak so there are wastebaskets in the walkway of several rooms. I do like the private changing areas but it doesn't make for the overall crappy-ness . The gym was good for me because I hired a private (not a BAER) trainer where I work and learned how to properly work out and lift weights when I joined (read strong armed) ladies fitness. I made the gym work for me by going in the early mornings when the equipment is available and the staff doesn't try and talk you up. No, I don't have any friends that I want to join - STOP asking. I have a copy of my contract and intend on using it because I've already paid for it. I also plan to use the staff's general lack of skills and thinking ability to my advantage. I joined in August and paid for 4 years. I got a call in November from a staff member asking me if I wanted to renew. I told her I still had till the next August. She was just silent. So next year when I get a call I'm going to say 'I've still got another year.' I think it'll work given the low quality that the gym keeps hiring. Pros: all ladies Cons: staff vacuums and are tricky more

Premier Lady's Fitness. beware! 12/14/2007

This is my story... i signed a contract in october but never recieved a copy of it and paid no money up front. i decided to terminate the contract maybe a week later because i was 7 months pregnant at the time and a trainer i know said i shouldn't start working out since i hadnt been so far in my pregnancy plus i found a way better gym! So i called and they said no i explained to them the situation and finally a manager said she would try and take care of it sor me, she said she knew what i was going thru, she also said she would get back to me.. well i had heard nothing from them and recieved no bills so i assumed she took care of it. well on december 11th i get a phone call tellling me that there was a billing error and i owed them for 2 months of service and i was being sent to collections.. well i never even went and worked out at LPF one time.. i have done all i could to terminate this but they wont budge. i could understand not letting me out of my contract had i been to the gym and just decided i didnt want to go anymore or if i had in some way cost them money but thats not the case.. i didnt even have a copy of the contract i never recieved one so i didnt know i only had like 3 days to cancel.. so i have sent them another letter and i am also thinking about taking them to court for defamation.. they knew i hadnt recieved a bill due to an error that occured with their billing department and i had no way of knowing i owed this money and they sent me to collections.. they are destroying my credit and have no right to do so by them doing this all my credit card rates can go up and i can be turned down because now i have a negative on my credit report.. Dont waste your time or money on that gym! They are out to make money they arent trying to help anyone but themselves and thats the truth! beware of LPF! Pros: none! Cons: everything! cotract is horrible, staff is not helpful! billing department has lost their mind! more

Worst Place to Workout 11/6/2007

I have only been a member since April, but after what I have seen and heard from the employees I haven't gone since June. I am a personal trainer and I know that many of their trainer are (obviously) not certified and a lot of their group instructors are not certified. I witnessed their overweight front desk lady taking people through their personal training routine and telling them that they had to feel a burn at all times during their workout. One of the first things you learn when you are teaching others how to workout is you don't always feel a burn when you are lifting weights. I was disgusted, but was informed that I cannot terminate my contract. I work now at Cardinal Fitness, check into it. They do not have a contract and they are only $19.95 a month with a better staff and facility. more

Cleaner than Kingsridge, but..... 6/3/2007

I initially joined this location and jumped around between Kettering to Kingsridge (Dayton Mall) locations. This location is cleaner than Kingsridge, but the owner is the same, so the same lousy membership options apply. It's amazing--I was told before I joined for my first year that after a year I could go to a month-to-month membership. Big lie. All they mean is that you can PAY month-to-month, but you still have to sign up for another whole year membership. The cost of membership doesn't drop after your first year, either. I've checked out other gyms like Fitworks--many more amenities, machines, and a lot cleaner. A waste of money. And tell me, Citysearch--how can this gym have a 4 star rating with only two reviewers giving it less than 4 stars? Pros: All women, no sweaty male weightlifters Cons: Lousy membership options, lying salespeople more

horrible customer service-don't join 5/30/2007

I went to premier ladies fitness for a free 30 day membership this morning. When I walked in the door I told the lady at the desk, Rhonda, that I was back for a thirty day membership after having one 2 years ago she guided me to the personal trainer at a corner desk. (I have recieved multiple phone calls over the last year saking me to return for another 30 day membership). After spending almost an hour with the trainer/sales person and telling her I needed to think about it before signing a contract and committing to spending hundreds of dollars I was told I needed to enter a contract before returning to the gym. I was told that I could not have another 30 day membership. I calmly expressed to both Rhonda and the sales lady my frustration over my wasted time and told them that they should have made me aware of no 30 day when I walked in and requested it . The sales lady understood my frustration however the desk lady, Rhonda, was VERY rude to me upon my expressing my frustration. She said nasty and unprofessional things to me and still ingored the fact that it was my time wasted-----I was upfront from the beginning! Wow the things you learn about sales people when they don't make their sale. What they didn't realize is that I was going to join the gym at the end of the week on payday and pay my membership in full-- Pros: steam room Cons: horrible customer service more
