Best

I recently experienced a crash of a hard drive containing all of the data of my accounting system. Unfortunately, I discovered that my last clean back-up was over four months old!...

Worst

Took a crashed drive to these folks. They recovered it nicely and charged a small fortune. OK I can live with that. But then they copied and gave the data to a complete stranger! ...

Techfusion saved data 3/18/2010

I had back up all my files pictures, backup etc in a portable hard drive a 320 GB portable USB. (yes you can call me stupid) recently when I plugged in the hard drive's USB to the computer, a message prompted ""do you want to format the drive""... In my panic, I searched for online solutions of these types of problems but they were disappointing. There are also some softwares that address this issue. I did not want to waste my time and my valuable data to experiment with suggestions I found online so next thing, I called Techfusion. The moment I called them they did everything to help and for a reasonable price they fixed my hard drive and saved ALL the files in the drive. They also asked me if you think some file is missing let us know but there was no need for it. So I give A(100 +) to Techfusion and if have any kinds of problems like this I will definitely refer to them for help. Pros: Excellent professional service Cons: Nothing more

Friendly People, Great Service 2/28/2010

I highly recommend Techfusion for their outstanding service and repair. My computer crashed recently causing me to lose more than 20 years of documents and information. I had done the unthinkable and neglected to perform a backup! The staff at Techfusion had to perform an extensive diagnostic on my computer in an effort to retrieve the data. They were able to perform the job with a very short turnaround. Additionally, their fee was exceptionally fair and reasonable. Kind, compassionate people, eager and willing to help above and beyond the call of duty, I would not hesitate to choose Techfusion for all future computer repair needs. Pros: Speedy and Helpful more

Saved Mom's Pictures and Job Search Files 2/23/2010

My laptop with 6 years worth of pictures, docs, financial records, email file etc. we all accumulate a lot of data.\r \r My Mom passed away in Aug 2009 and I had all the picture of her life on my harddrive. I scanned some pictures from as early as 1934 of Mom. I was making a digital frame for my Dad. I also had pictures of the vacations from the last 6 years. \r \r Techfusion was able to recover all of it. I am so thankful.\r \r Janice M Pros: Did what they promised more

Specialty: data retrieval 1/26/2010

I had passed Techfusion a zillion times on my way to the Fresh Pond Mall. Then I had a small keyboard problem and went in to see if they could fix it. It was clear that they were really too high powered for such trivia, but, particularly as I was a neighbor, they repaired it overnight. Decent price. Try it! Pros: Small, friendly, neighborhood repair shop Cons: Prefer small/medium businesses with data retrieval problems more

Excellent Company 1/13/2010

I was trying to clear up some space on my computer and deleted a bunch of files I had floating around that were taking up a bunch of space. I wasn't sure what they were for. But it turns out they were kind of important! Apparently they were required for my wife's accounting software to run. It was a big deal for us - we needed to restore those files ASAP.\r \r I know that deleting a file doesn't necessarily destroy the actual data, so I didn't lose hope yet. I tried some things first - there are programs out there that promise to restore deleted files. But nothing worked. \r Techfusion was able to fix the problem quite easily, it seems. They called the next day to say they found the deleted files and had them restored. The software started working as if nothing happened!\r Pros: Excellent Service Cons: Short Hours more

A Strong Recommendation after 2 Excellent Recoveries 1/6/2010

I brought my first dead laptop to a local electronics/cell phone shop for data recovery and was charged a steep price. When I returned home I discovered that only a small number of files were recovered. I was very upset that I had paid so much for such poor service. I remembered TechFusion from their sponsorship of WBUR, so I contacted them, hoping they would live up to their claim of being the place ""where data is never lost"". Alfred, the owner, warned me that the first data recovery by the electronics shop might have damaged the hard drive, but they would try their best. To my amazement, they fully recovered ALL of my files. I received prompt and courteous service by the staff at the front desk and left knowing that I was in good hands. Afterwards, I knew I needed to get serious about backing up my data regularly in case of another hard disk failure. But, I quickly forgot about that as I settled in to my normal routine with a new laptop. So, when that one crashed, I didn't think twice about taking it to TechFusion. I got the same excellent quality of service and full data recovery. I hope I'll never need their services again now that I've gotten serious about backing up my data on an external drive. But, I hope to make up for it by spreading the word that this is where you go if you care about getting your data back. Trust me, you'll save money by going here first instead of wasting it elsewhere and then needing a 2nd recovery. I learned the hard way so you don't have to. Pros: Friendly, reliable, and timely service Cons: The prices might seem high, but you get what you pay for more

horrible service 12/29/2009

Techfusion recovered a drive for us. Very expensive. Then mistakenly gave it to a total stranger. Acknowledged their screw up but would then offer no remedy. Tried to cast suspicions on the other guy, claimed what altruistic people they were, then offered nothing. Lawyered up. Run away. I wish I could rate them with zero stars. Pros: data recovery Cons: screw ups where they give your sensitive data to strangers more

""It's a Wonderful Life"" TechFusion-style! 12/23/2009

Doing business with TechFusion has been like living my own version of ""It's a Wonderful Life"" this year. Five weeks ago, I returned from a business trip to find that my hard drive had died. Having been through this trauma twice in the past, I feared the worst -- feared I had lost a decade's worth of files, irreplaceable family photos, and would miss an important tax filing deadline that could cost me dearly. Worse, this year -- like so many others nationwide, my cash flow had come to a complete halt and I have fallen behind on rent. So when I researched how much it could cost to see if my hard drive could be rescued, I was distraught. Still, I had seen the TechFusion sign for years and decided to leave a message on their tape over Thanksgiving weekend. To my surprise, Albert the owner, called minutes later even though it was a holiday! He said to follow-up with an email, and then come down in person as soon as I could. Two weeks later, with the tax deadline looming, I finally borrowed $95 from a family member to pay TechFusion to estimate the repair costs. When the preliminary assessment suggested problems were more complicated than anticipated, and repair costs could be double the normal price range, I was CRUSHED. ""Is there anything I can barter,"" I asked a sympathetic staff member? ""Any precedent for helping hardship cases?"" That's when things changed, quietly but almost miraculously. Without raising expectations he could not guarantee, the staff member asked, ""Is anyone in your family in the military service?"" Yes, I said, a relative. ""Call the owner, Albert, and let him know that. See what he can do for you."" Later that afternoon, I called Albert and before I could finish telling him my story, he said, ""How quickly can you get here."" ""Don't worry, We'll take care of you."" Five days later, I got the call I had been hoping from Albert's brother Nick, ""Looks like we got all of the data, and we're going to cap your fee at _____ because your relative served his country."" He could not see me over the phone, but I began to cry. It's a wonderful Christmas story of Patriotism and generosity. I'm not suggesting that the TechFusion team are Santa's little helpers. But in their own way, they are BETTER than a crew of merry ELF's! Their personalities and work were: E - Efficient, L - Likeable, F - Flawless, and so Friendly I felt like Family! At this point, it looks like TechFusion recovered ALL of the lost data. As Albert had assured me in our first call, and his brother Nick repeated to me throughout the process, their motto is ""TechFusion: Where data is never lost."" They lived up to that and so much MORE! I cannot thank them or recommend them highly enough! Bill Wendel The Real Estate Cafe 617-661-4046 more

Thumbs Up 12/9/2009

I was referred to techFusion by the mac store when my iMac hard drive died. Last time I backed up my data was a year ago so I lost everything from this current year. I lost all my priceless pictures, design projects, music, etc. Eager to get my files back from the dead hard drive, I was told techFusion could help. They were very professional and clear on the process. I was impressed at how much they cared when they saw me in agony when making the decision to move forward with the data recovery or not. Although it took longer than they originally quoted, they were able to retreive my priceless data files which were damaged. Very pleased.\r Pros: Professional, nice, and accomodating! more

Competenlty recovered my data 8/30/2009

My hard drive crashed and I couldn't do anything with it. I am technologically aware but could not recover the files. I dropped off the hard drive at Tech Fusion. Some time later, they gave a number of CDs with all my necessary recovered data. I would heartily recommend them for any data recovery. I didn't give them five stars because to me five stars is perfect and I have a hard time giving anyone five stars. Pros: Excellent service. Recovered data as requested. more

too good to be true! 5/4/2009

they got back my data.\r \r helped me locate the files I needed.\r \r charged me according to their original quote, even though my data recovery took TWICE as many hours as estimated.\r \r showed me how to back up key files so that I will never need their services again! Pros: courteous, professional, fair more

TechFusion Saved My Data 4/23/2009

My work hard drive completely died. There was days worth of unbacked up source code. Although I am quite computer proficient, I was unable to recover any data. Furthermore, our outsourced IT vendor was unable to recover any files either. We then called TechFusion, and only 2.5 days later every single file was recovered. Alfred Demirjian saved me time and my company money recovering these files. Even weeks later, the recovered files prove invaluable. Pros: All my data restored more

Techfusion is the best 4/9/2009

I brought my drive into Techfusion after losing my mind the night before trying to retrieve my data. A colleague recommended Techfusion saying that they provided him excellent service a few months before. I called up Techfusion and they gave me pricing which was in line with a few of the other companies I called. I took my drive into Techfusion because they were fully transparent and dedicated to getting my data back. I fully recommend anyone who needs valuable information back after a fatal crash to go to these guys. They are the best and provide quick service. Pros: Great service, fair pricing, and quick turnaround time Cons: no cons. more

Bad Experience with Techfusion 9/4/2008

We are a major department at MIT and had a bad experience with Techfusion. They quoted us a price and time frame and didn't stick to it. Throughout the recovery process we were never able to speak to an engineer who was actually working on our drive. We unable to ascertain the real chances for recovery for two entire weeks (when we had requested and paid for expedited service). They returned our disk without the original electronics. Cons: horrible experience all around more

Avoid at all times 7/27/2008

I dropped off my computer hard drive when it had crashed. Before they even found out whether or not they could recover the data, they billed me the full price of their services. They were not able to recover it, and when I contacted a different data recovery firm, they were able to recover the data in less than 48 hours. It took about a week of calling every day to get someone to talk to (never did get the person I was trying to reach) and now it's been maybe 2 weeks and they still haven't refunded my money!\r \r DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! Pros: None, none at all... except that their services ""looked"" inexpensive at first Cons: Everything, very displeased more

avoid this place like the plague! 4/16/2008

if you have a computer problem that you would like to have fixed you would be better off taking your computer and your wallet and throwing them into the charles river than giving this place your business. not only can they not deliver what they promise (on npr no less!), but they will charge you an arm and a leg for nothing in return. and if giving them your money wasn't bad enough, you'll also waste hours of your time just trying to get someone (anyone!!) to actually talk to you. i agree with the other reviewer- for actual tech support- you should go anywhere else. Pros: none that would make up for the cons Cons: bad result, high cost, zero customer service, hours of aggravation more

Huge Waste of Time and Money 3/11/2008

MacAfee picked up a virus on my laptop, but couldn't remove it because the virus starts up right as the computer starts. I ran some of the free anti-virus software on the web, all of which found the virus, but none of which could remove it. After hearing so many ads for tech fusion on the radio, I decided to give them a call. They said they could remove viruses, malware, ect. ect. and that it was EXTREMELY rare that they would have to reinstall windows. Very very rare. \r \r They require a deposit of $65.00 to drop the computer off - this isn't something they say on the phone, it's a surprise when you get there. They had the computer almost a week before the tech called back. He was literally yawning as he said there was nothing they could do, I'd have to re-install windows. Come down, give them the rest of their money (another $35.00) and pick up my computer. \r \r The kicker on it? I have a friend who was able to remove the virus with PC Tools. I feel very foolish for going to them, and worse, I feel like I was scammed out of $100.00. The techs that I saw and interacted with were all very young (early to mid twenties) and not invested at all in what they were doing. I think the tech who was yawning in my ear on the phone really sums up their attitude towards their work and their customers. \r \r My advice? Go ANYWHERE before you go here... more
