Editorial review from Citysearch 11/25/2013

I have been going to Belle Forrest for about 3 years. They are always very friendly and helpful. I recently lost my pomeranian. Dr. Talbott took the time to call me about it the next day and offer his condolences. Very kind man and great vet. Cherry more

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/11/2013

I had to take my pet to have him put to sleep. The front office staff, Dr. Brasher and especially Holly were very professional. This has been a hard time for my wife and myself. Wil take a long time to get over this, but Belle Forest has made it a little easier. Thanks for what you do. Don't believe other post. more

Hey, it's your pet and $, but I will NOT ever go there AGAIN 6/5/2011

While I think that Dr. Talbott is a great vet, I have had nothing but negative experiences with everyone else there. receptionists, vet""techs"" (pretty positive none of them are registered), Dr.Brasher is especially awful and unfriendly. I have been a dog owner for over 12 years and have known many beloved vets. After having moved to Nashville, I went there because it was close by. I tried it three times and will never go back. I know what my dogs need and what they do not. I am not a cheap skate. That being said, i felt that i was totally being ""sold"" and being coerced into things that I know my dogs did not need and had nothing to do with the visit. Hey, those of you who enjoy being demeaned and oversold, by all means enjoy the commission based staff and fattening Dr. Brasher's already fat pockets. more

Best Vet Care in Middle Tennessee! 5/25/2011

I have known Kim Brasher since she was a vet in Goodlettsville 25 years ago. I travel from Ridgetop, TN just to see this vet. I have always said she had a halo over her head and made all the animals feel like their guardian angel was there. She makes all animals feel comfortable and relaxed even though it is a stressful event for them. She is by far the best veterinarian I've ever been to and that would be saying quite a bit. They are reasonably priced and above excellent service. I would not let anyone else treat my animal for any important condition than her. I have rescued animals for over 20 years and have met many vets. She is the best diagnostic vet in the state without going to UT Veterinary School for final consultation! I assure you those with bad experiences also have bad attitudes and do not want to spend anything on their pets. They are always up front with costs and never go over without asking. My pets mean everything to me and I want to know their entire life is being trusted to her. When the day comes you have to put them to sleep, there is no better love that comes from within than from the heart of Dr. Brasher. It soothes your pain to know they were cared for and respected so much by the staff. more

Great clinic 5/22/2011

Belle Forest Animal Hospital has been my clinic of choice for over 20 years; through 4 cats and 2 dogs. I have had nothing but good experiences there. It seems as if the receptionists know every client that comes in. The doctors are up to date in their practice, and are all very kind and caring. The prices are fair for both medical care and boarding. Except for holidays, (call well ahead of time), I never had a problem getting a reservation for boarding any of my animals. Two years ago I moved to Nolensville (about 25 miles away) and my new cat had a problem with her knee. Even though there are several vets nearby, I took her to Belle Forest because I was confident in the care that she would get there. more

Shocked 4/21/2011

I am shocked to read these horrible reviews. I love belle forest animal hospital. The staff is always friendly (though when they are busy may not be super talkative). I have taken my numerous animals to them for over 10 years and have recieved nothing but kindness and excellent service, especially when I had to put down two of my ferrets and was a blubbering mess. The prices are extremely fair and unlike some other places I have gone the technicians NEVER cut my dogs quick when trimming her nails. I tried some other places but I am forever faithful to Belle Forest. more

Like the vet but....... 12/7/2010

PROS: \r Dr. Talbot seems truly attentive to the problem(s) and provides insightful suggestions. \r \r CONS: \r The clinic needs serious cleaning; dogs should not be taken through the lab area where infected specimens are taken/viewed; I would be very concerned about contamination and would not leave any of my animals for surgery; the staff is not welcoming/friendly\r \r \r \r more

Angel On Earth 10/26/2010

Dr. Talbott cared for my dog up until his very last moment on earth and I am so grateful that he was with me when Scout left this world. Dr. Talbott is not your ordinary veterinarian. No review or amount of feedback could ever communicate how unique he truly is and how grateful I am to have found him. Dr. Talbott cares deeply for his animal patients and works tirelessly to provide them with the best possible care and treatment. Out of all of the vets I have seen in my day, this man deserves to be recognized for his true devotion to animals and his huge loving heart. I have no doubt that he has a place reserved for him in Heaven and so do many of the sweet members of his staff who tried to save Scout's life. 'Thanks' will never express the amount of appreciation I will always have for Dr. Talbott and staff. Taylor more

Shocked by these reviews 6/7/2010

I am very shocked to read these reviews. My family has been using Belle Forest for close to 20 years. All of us bring our animals here and we have plenty of furchildren among us. My husband and I find the staff very friendly, never have difficulty obtaining an appointment and have never been overcharged or charged for services we do not authorize. The techs and vets are very sweet to our dog and are always gentle towards him. That being said, we have never boarded our animals in the kennel so perhaps several of these negative reviews are more in relation to the kennel than the vet services. \r \r Pros: polite, friendly staff, knowledgable vets more

Incompetent Vets, Uncaring, Overpriced 2/2/2010

The ONLY reason that I go to this vet is because it is 3 minutes from my house. I have had my dog treated there about 5 times over a 5-7 year period. I have kenneled him there several times. The kennel seems to be ok. The front staff is ok I guess but definitely not overly friendly. The really bad part is that the doctors themselves are horrible. They have the personality of a brick wall, do not want to hear what you have to say, give little or no information about the problem at hand and want to just push you out as quickly as possible even when you are the only customer there! They are so uncaring and rude. I will not be back!!! They do not give a crap about your pet....only your $$$$$$$$$$$$ Pros: close to my house Cons: Everything else more

Boycott Belle Forest Animal Hospital! 12/3/2009

I was warned about the unethical practices of this clinic, yet I had to learn the hard way myself. My dog was given way too much medication (against my knowledge until I requested a copy of the records) when I was boarding him, to the point of his being violently ill before they discovered their mistake. They have repeatedly administered services that I did not request, or that I directly told them not to do, and then charged me for them. On my last visit, I was quoted one price for my visit, and when I came to pick up my dog, was charged nearly double the quoted amount! When I left him there for the day, I specifically asked them to call me before they did anything other than what the appointment was for, yet they did not call and they did extra procedures anyway. I have been trying to resolve this issue with them for weeks, and Dr. Brasher told me on the phone that she would refund the difference in the quoted price and the price I was charged, yet she then sent me a letter stating that she would not refund my money. She told me to go to another Vet if I wasn't happy. I requested medical records for all of my pets and she did not send them. I had to call the manufacturer of a medication they applied and was told that the method they used was ineffective the way they applied it, yet Dr. Brasher told me that the manufacturer was wrong! The manufacturer knows more about their product than the clinic, yet Dr. Brasher continues to stand behind their improper procedures. I strongly encourage anyone who is considering using this clinic to go elsewhere! They are clearly not concerned with the well-being of our pets over the money they can swindle out of you. Cons: overpricing, rude staff, improper grooming procedures more

Bad customer service! 6/11/2008

I loved bringing my dogs here. My dogs are my kids, so I spend a great deal of money on them. I had no problems boarding my dogs for a while....and I board 3 or more times a year. The last visit, we were charged $200 for shots and exams that we did not authorize. When I called to complain, I was told that my husband had authorized and was lying to me. Not the truth...he had never authorized before. I think the girl made a mistake and tried to lie her way out. She told me that ""I have worked here for 20 years, who do you think they will believe."" (exact words) Needless to say, I pulled my dogs immediately. It is strange that another customer picking their dog up that day was charged for unauthorized shots as well. HMMMM. Pros: Vets were nice Cons: BAD customer service more

negligent and rude 4/24/2008

I had been a customer for over seven years. If you own a large breed dog, you know how expensive they are and how much money that is to spend at one clinic. But I stayed with them because it was convenient and my dog seemed to like them. Their kennel had been okay, too... old and cramped, but hey, he's a dog. Anyway, my dog developed a serious infection they couldn't get a handle on, so I took him elsewhere. Once properly diagnosed, the vet phoned prescriptions to Belle Forest. So I kenneled the dog there for four days, telling them (I watched them write it down) that he needed to be medicated (with the very meds they filled, mind you). I come back and they didn't do it (and I had the number of the pills in the bottle to prove it). Anyway, the infection had worsened and the vet tech told me she was ""so sorry"" and that because she knew it might set him back, there would be no charge. I took my dog, thinking all was okay... not great, but at least not the usual ridiculous fee to put a dog in a cage. When I returned later for more antibiotics - predicably, the infection worsened - they wanted their money from before. I relayed the story, but was basically called a liar by the vet tech who originally sent me home without paying. I said no, of course. Originally, it was a mistake - a bad one - but a mistake I could forgive. But now they wanted backpay. So I go home thinking its over with, right? Two days later, I get a letter in the mail, basically kicking us out of their clinic! The letter doesn't mention their negligence with my dog, nor the fact that they handed my dog over to me (how could I have left with my dog without paying if they'd really wanted me to pay - they had my dog!). They'd never really been the most talented of vets (for instance, a few years before, they told me a torn ACL in my dog could heal on its own and I could wait it out - bad advice, it got worse!). Short story long, if you value your dog's health or your $ - stay away! Pros: ??? Cons: rude staff, negligent docs more

BAD SERVICE--- NOT RECCOMENDED!! 12/13/2005

I found an adorable black lab this morning in my yard. It had two collars, and two tags. No number to the owner, however. Both numbers got me here-- to Belle Forest. First, the receptionest was rude and very impatient. She seemed very unwilling to help. She told me the number on the tag didn't turn up any results, and I would be better off calling metro-- unless, of course, I felt like calling up every other vet in Nashville. So I ask for the number to metro, and am put on hold for over 10 minutes. A vet. tech. picks up the phone, was very nice and very willing to send me back to the receptionists. I am put on hold for yet another 10 min. before I realize the beautiful little lab has escaped the fence I put up for him. Horrid. Pros: Courtious Vet tech. Cons: Rude receptionist, unwillingness to help, dog never returned more
