Strips-Everything and More 12/20/2010

I LOVE going to this place. They have everything imaginable on the menu and it's all delicious. A group of us always goes and I never hear any complaints about anyone's food. The staff can be hit or miss here as well as the drinks, sometimes good and sometimes not so much. I still LOVE the food here and it is on my favorites on OPEN TABLE! more

Somebody get the diva away from the hostess stand... 11/22/2010

Last night was my second time going to Strip--I took a guest with me who is new to Atlanta and had never been before. We walked in and asked the hostess, who looked to be barely 18, if we could sit upstairs. She said ""seat yourself"". I wanted to tell little Becky Sue she should watch her mouth but instead we went up to enjoy our dinner. We realized there wasn't a table available so we went back down to eat outside. After sitting at our table without even being acknowledged for about 10 minutes, I went up to ask little Miley Cyrus what was going on. She informed me with more attitude than Ru Paul that I was supposed to ask for a table. When I reminded her she'd told us to seat ourselves she said ""that is only for upstairs"". I asked her how long she was going to let us sit there (are we being punished?) with no menu or service and asked again for a table. She replied that our waitress had just brought menus out and then gave me the stare down. Oh little diva, you are so fortunate that I am a classy lady because otherwise I would of pulled your braces off one by one. Overall a terrible experience. Sushi was fine, nothing exciting. Sangria was full of calories but not alcohol. Thanks for horrible service, mediocre sushi, and $8 fruit juice. more

Very So, So 6/30/2009

Interesting concept, but lacks focus. There were singles looking to hook up, familes there, small dining parties, and large birthday parties. So, I was confused at what concept the place is aiming to achieve. Pros: Interesting Concept Cons: Not worth the trip more

Wonderful Experience 2/23/2009

I was in town visiting for the Bronner Brothers Hair show the weekend of 2/21/09---we had asked some friends who live in Atlanta of a good spot for dinner and drinks. I am sooooooo glad they recommended Strips. I wish I could remember our watiers name. He was the absolute BEST---we tipped him well. We ordered a pitcher of the Sangria---simply amazing. I hate going to a restaraunt and the waiter has no ideabout the menu....our waiter was so knowledgable and able to offer wonderful suggestions to each of us! We did sushi----one word PERFECT. We all sampled what everyone ordered... so here goes, the Zuwaikani...loved it, the Crunchee rolls...amazing! Im not an oyster person but a guest in our party ordered them and she was so impressed. We ended our dinner by sharing the bread pudding---let me say I am not a bread pudding fan---but OMG....it was wonderful! Next time in Atlanta I will be making a return trip to Strips. I highly recommend this restaraunt, wonderful food fairly priced. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience more

This experience was a winner! 2/13/2009

Friendliest knowledgeable staff, food runners, managers and hosts for pre Kooza Cirque. Poor reviews almost kept me from reserving thru Open Table. Host confirmed day of. Early to our reservation we were seated immediately. Asked for less Central seating then granted window seats with pleasant smile. Our waiter arrived within minutes with menus, drink request and provided excellent service. Knowledgeable about the menu, he suggested specials and discounts on wine, entree choices and respected our choice to dine at a relaxed pace. Manager checked in on us. Host took me by the arm when asking where the ladies room was located! Dessert on the house Tiramisu yum! Steaks perfect. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Every request was met with earnest. Couples, friends, groups. Once in the restaurant business for 13 years with a hobby of food and wine, this night was a Winner! Johnathan ( our waiter) trained to entertain and serve. Give this spot a shot. They gave us 20% off the check when we told them we were going to see Kooza. Not aware of that special was a pleasant surprise.... Pros: Thumbs way up on Service and Food Cons: Urban, sterile decor....Not my favorite design of the Tom restaurants.... more

Great Service and Even Better Food! 12/9/2008

Our dining experience was awesome to say the least! Our server was extremely patient and gladly went over and beyond to get even the smallest request we had for our dinner. I am a frequent diner of restaurants and I'm a great cook myself and must say the food was unusually good. I'm aware that the creators of Ruth's Chris also birthed Strip, Ruth's Chris does not compare because they are grossly overpriced, drab decor, and the food did not meet my expectations. Strip was trendy and prompt with service and seating. I ordered the special which was a wild caught white fish with fries and slaw. My sister ordered salmon with creamy spinach, and mashed potatoes. My mother ordered the mouth watering macaroni and cheese! We all ordered sushi to start-my 62 year old mom tried sushi for the first time and LOVED it!!! All the food was good and I will definitely go back there...SOON Pros: food, service more

daily menu special was excellent!!! 9/8/2008

I recently took my parents here for their 35th anniversary. We definitely got the 5 star treatment from the moment we sat down. We were seated alone in a private room off the main dining area. The wait staff was extremely attentive and quickly responded to all of our requests. The featured entree was recommended to us by the manager and our waiter which is what I ordered. It was fabulous!!! It was Red Snapper with poblano grits and beans. YUM YUM!! Pros: great food, nice atmosphere/decor Cons: loud music more

Worst sushi in ATLANTA! 8/19/2008

Crowd wasnt mixed which is always bad. The crowd was a trendy one which I liked but the food was bad and the sushi especially. The service was ok and the prices were average but I expected more from this place. The was its positioned in Atlantic station gives you the perception that it will be a great place to eat but its far from it. I wll never go there again. Pros: Drinks and service Cons: crow, food and music more

Don't trouble yourself to dine here 9/25/2007

Seated us at a wobbly table. Sushi and burger were fine, Thai flat iron steak salad was tasteless, fries accompaning burger were soggy. Fry quality was surprising considering they are famous for the Quebecois poutine dish (fries topped with cheese curds and gravy). Service inattentive (drinks went unfilled a long time). Pretty restrooms, very attractive bar. Overhyped, undelivered. I won't be going back. Pros: Hot location, good looking bar Cons: Food and service below par more

Disappointing 7/23/2007

I ate there this evening and was very disappointed. Pros: Ambience Cons: Make sure they cook your food how you like it.. more

OVERALL BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7/9/2007

First of all, the mixed drinks sucked! It's as if they hired high school graduates to bartend at this over-priced restaurant. I ordered a Red Snapper, but it tasted like straight up Hennessey. YUCK!! We dined in the evening, and it was way too loud to talk to eachother over the table. The whole time we were like, ""What? Say it one more time!"" Horrible for couples to dine in for a romantic evening. It's more of a lounge/club than a ""Steak and Sushi"" restaurant. We started out with six people but ended up with eight and they didn't even ask to locate to a bigger table. The waiter didn't even bring enough glasses of water or silverware for the extra guests until we asked for it. The sushi was crappy and low-quality; it had the quality of a sushi restaurant in North Dakota or something. My Yellowtail Nigiri was sooooooo slim and small and it was so not worth the $4 I paid for. I rather pay more at a Korean owned sushi restaurant on Pleasant Hill than this BS. I didn't even get what I ordered, so maybe the waiter doesn't know the difference between some of the sushi. My pasta, I hated it! It was disgusting, and I only took three bites. If you order steak, well that's all your going to get. Even if it's the $28 steak, you won't receive any side dishes unless you want to pay $8 for mashed potatoes. This restaurant is too funny! They are way too over-priced for their nasty, weak entrees. This is by far THE WORST RESTAURANT I've ever been to in my whole entire life. I am NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN, and I will make sure none of my friends go there either. Pros: NONE AT ALL! THUMBS DOWN! Cons: Horrible food, bad service, horrible mixed drinks, too loud. more

Avoid like the Plague! 6/11/2007

I have given this restaurant 3 chances and they have failed miserably on each try. The straw that broke the camel's back was last week. The scantily clad hostess was rude when we requested a different seat that was not next to a screaming baby. She pranced off in a huff after tossing the menus on the table. The seat she put us at was directly next to the kitchen and the floor was covered in food. Our waitress finally showed up to get drink orders (which she didn't get correct) and we had to chase down another waiter to get everything correct since she disappeared. When our sushi finally arrived it was not the correct order and the manager had to go back and get our shashimi that they forgot. When it arrived, he had gotten it all wrong also. more

Great sushi and atmosphere 5/19/2007

I have been to the strip twice and really enjoyed myself both times. As you walk past the large bouncers at the front door into this perfectly designed place you just feel the vibes of the city. Both times I went I was upstairs near the sushi bar. I loved the sushi and calamari so much the first time I got it again. Thinking about it is making me crave it right now. This is a great place to hang out with friends or a significant other. As the night moves on the DJ begins to play music that is sure to get you on your feet. Strip is sophisticated and fun. I definitely recommend it!! Pros: Great sushi, music, and atmosphere Cons: Atlantic station can get busy so parking can be a pain more

Don't do parties larger over 10 here!! 12/1/2006

I recently tried to make a reservation for a party of 20 for my birthday. First I was advised that any reservation with a party over 10 had to talk to the event planner, so left my contact phone number. This was not a problem. The problem was I never heard back from the event planner, I called him three times and finally spoke with and when I did he was very short and rude. He was supposed to email the contract the next day, well i didn't receive that the next day. So i called the manager he gave the phone to event planner who said he would email it over in a couple minutes. I received the contract at 8:00 pm that night, which was 3 hours later. When I did the charges were absurd, $250 if one party does not show up, they give you 20 minutes after your reservation for your entire party to show up, if not they charge 250.00. The initial reservation process was horrible, so I called another restaurant in Atlantic Station and made one phone call and my reservation was set. Don't have a large party hear. more

great food...great time! 11/28/2006

if you want to enjoy a great steak or indulge in some of atlanta's best sushi.....this is the place to go. atmosphere is very nice. men, this is a great place to take your (special) lady. she'll be taken by the talents of the bartender! you will definitely enjoy the drinks along with the music. i highly recommend this restaurant. more

Great Food 11/19/2006

The restaurant was packed but we had reservations and were seated immediately. It took a long time for our server to greet us but or water glasses were filled when we sat down. The wine is extremely over priced and not a very good secetion. The entrees were the best. I had the filet, my boyfriend a new york strip and my best friend fried lobster tails... All were perfect. The sushi was good. The spinach dip is the same stuff they use for cream spinach...BE WARE! The crabcake was good but had shells in it. The side dishes are family style and some are overpriced. My Final thoughts. VERY SLOW SERVICE. OVER PRICED. but the ENTRESS WERE SO GOOD that it made up for other two. Pros: Food Cons: price and service more
