Strength Beyond Fitness Center

Buyer beware!!!!!! Even though I live 15 hours from the nearest facility, this company will not let me out of my contract nor give me a reduced price buyout. Additionally, they continue to charge me the annual maintenance fee. I cannot believe that a service based industry has NO options for dealing with customers who no longer are geographically able to participate in said services. I have only been insulted and patronized in attempting to communicate with these people. more

I am beyond pleased with this gym! it was always hard for me to get up and get to the gym but they recommended energy drinks for me that work great.red line for example. the equipment there is easy to use and everyone is super helpful and nice GREAT STAFF! Also you cant forget how clean both locations are super impressed with the cleanliness as well. Strength Beyond is the way to go! =) more

I have struggled with weight loss and hated exercise for many years. I visited several gyms in the area only to find myself very uncomfortable. To me those gyms were your typical ""skinny girls' who think they are fat(at a size 5) and basically a 'meat market"" for men. I visited Strength Beyond in Kalamazoo after my husband and kids joined. After a few visits I decided that I wanted to join as well. The staff was very nice and it seemed to be ""fat girl"" friendly. It has a womens only section, but it isnt really necessary to hide behind the wall, but its nice to be by yourself sometimes. Everyone there seems to be one big family, members and staff. I actually love going there, its clean and the machines/weights are easy to use and everyone is helpful. I think this is going to be a long term or life long commitment for me.Its nice to go to a place and FEEL accepted no matter what. Im proud to tell people that I go to Strength Beyond and will continue to recommend them to my friends and family. Keep up the good work guys!! <3 more

i'm a member for many years of strength beyond and after reading reviews i figured i would lay it out from my point of view.\r \r for begginers they gyms both pawpaw and kalamazoo gull rd locations are always clean.\r \r the staff are willing to help everyone when they are asked. the staff is also great Rob Aaron Tom to name a few are very knowable in the field of wieght training and fitness.\r \r i am a diabetic type 2 and when i was diagnosed aaron called tom and set up a one on one meeting at no cost to me what so ever to change my work out routine and then after suffering a heart attack tom changed it up agian to lessen the stress on my body and worked with me to keep very thing low impact for some time.\r \r the equipment is older at paw paw but it still does what it is meant for working out. \r \r yes the paw paw location is more of a body builder setting but if you want to get in shape your not there to socoialize.\r \r they do offer the best prices in town for the memberships.\r \r i strongly recomend checking out either location and if memory serves me right there is also a location in dowagiac. more

I've been a member of strength beyond since 2011 when they were at the old facility. Since moving to the new location they have expanded, added more room and more equipment. It reminds me of the old powerhouse gym or something like a worlds gym out of flex magazine.The gym itself is ran 24hrs and staffed by a great group of guys who are quick to help and offer instuction and advice, as well as personal training for those needing a detailed training program. Tanning booths are available and the facility is kept clean and well maintained. They also offer cardio classes and plenty of equipment including bikes, treadmills, stairsteppers, etc. It is a diverse place to train offering something for everyone from all walks of life. You see guys and girls from teen to seniors. Theres no other place i'd rather be! more

Strength Beyond is a great place to escape to for a while and get in a good workout, from cardio and aerobics classes to free weights and machines there is always something to work on. Even a private room for the ladies. Friendly staff always there to help and motivate their members. Not to mention the tanning included! :) more

If you want somewhere to feel at home and be comfortable, this is the place. I love the attention to personal accountability from the staff and fellow members. A no pressure or intimidation environment with people who know what they are doing and honestly care about your fitness goals. I have seen amazing results in a lot of members who take advantage of the trainers on staff. This is not a big box chain center where no one knows your name or acknowledges you, it is more like a family of members who greet you and staff who help and encourage you daily. more

Personally LOVE this gym!Super comfortable environment with a tremendous staff that offer advice and guidance promptly which is great for beginners like myself. Not too large and overwhelming or packed with people so you can never get on a machine, more of a small/home-y feeling. Great equipment as well as a great layout to make your workout fast but efficient. I would recommend this gym to all of my family, friends, and associates :) more

Great gym. has everything i need as far as equipment and space. staff are always accommodating as well. you would think those two would go hand in hand at any gym but not always the case. great place and I would recommend to anyone. more

A great atmosphere to train. I am a fit, early 30's guy, but by no means a body builder or fitness model...there are a good mix of people of all ages and types looking to improve their fitness level. \r Great staff, who provide good service...and were eager to office advice and knowledge to obtain my fitness goals. more

****THIS IS A REAL REVIEW, UNLIKE THE REVIEWS SUBMITTED BELOW, SPECIFICALLY THE ONES ALL SUBMITTED ON JULY 8TH, 2011 - ALL OF WHICH WERE THE EMPLOYEE OF THE GYM ITSELF TRYING TO BOOST RATINGS, YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW PATHETIC THEY ARE AS A BUSINESS, HIDING TRUE REVIEWS****\r \r \r 1. Proceeded to charge a card after the contract was supposed to be cancelled.\r \r 2. Turned over order to a collection agency and also gave the contract to a new company, so that I've now been harassed by two separate companies for the same contract. Oddly enough one company says it started in 2010, the other in late 2011, unless they were giving false information there is no way these companies would have different information and amounts. The collection agency is now requesting information in order to give restitution because the amount asked for is worth more than the whole original contract, which National Fitness actually had a copy of.\r \r 3. I'm not the only one who's had problems with this company charging fraudulent charges to cards without members knowledge. Looking at reviews on other sites will show similar reviews from members in the past. \r \r 4. Gym itself physically is a great place to work out, though trusting some of the individuals that work there to handle your financial and personal information is not something I'd recommend to anyone. more

The bottom line: These guys know what's up and I watch them gladly help people change all the time. Honestly Aaron is brilliant (don't tell him I said that.) I've worked out at dozens of gyms; this one's my favorite. Go there if you want innovative training and amazing results. Go elsewhere if you don't. more

I've been a member at Strength Beyond off and on for many years and my experience has always been stellar. Recently I came back after an extended medical leave and was greeted with open arms, a great membership deal, and some strength training ideas. Rob and Aaron are great and more than willing to help anytime with anything I've ever needed. To wrap it up, this isn't a large, crazy, crowded gym, where nobody cares if your there.. This gym is warm, comfortable, and safe. I will recommend everyone to come here. more

This is hands down the best gym in Kzoo!!! I have been a Strength Beyond member going on 7 years now and there is no other gym I would go too. Great atmosphere, State-of-the Art equipment, Friendly staff who care about your personal goals, and just an overall Great experience. I have much respect for Aaron DiPrima and this fitness dynasty he's created. I've never been in better shape in my life thanks to Strength Beyond. I have been working out at various gyms for a number of years. After Joining Strength Beyond fitness and consulting Aaron DiPrima regarding diet and exercise routine, I have managed to lose over 30lbs in the past 4 months. Aaron's expertise in strength training and diet may seem unconventional compared to most routines, but the results are amazing! I never expected to see this level of improvement in such a short time! more

Only the serious need apply here! The staff is friendly AND knowledgeable... just look at them! I was an original member 14 years ago when it was a private gym in Paw-Paw and since my return to Michigan I call it home again! Again, if you are serious and want results and a tan... I don't know how this place was a few years ago so I can't speak for the other people who have reviewed it. But since I have been going there in 2010 they just took on new ownership ever since there has been so many great changes! New treadmills, upgrades to the tanning beds, private women's area, cardio room & sauna. It always seems like the men strive in the atmosphere there. They are always so focused in their workouts and it seems like it is the ideal place to train. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. It is definitely a better place for a women to go to since the new equipment and set up, and I would recommend it to any of my friends. There is no other gym like it in the area. The only thing I could recommend would be a cardio class for women, unless that is not already in the works! more

If you are looking for a place with the attitude and atmosphere to train and be a competitive power lifter this is the place. All the equipment you will need is here. Bands, boards and chains. Many free weights and aerobic options if you care for the cardio. Very knowledgeable staff and it beats driving to Kalamazoo or Benton Harbor if you are a local. Sauna and tanning both are available along with a massage therapist by appointment. Able to purchase supplements and other sports and energy drinks. Locker rooms are sort of small, but the rest of the facility makes up for this small flaw. Strength Beyond franchises has produced many state champion power lifters, these guys know what they are doing. more
