Editorial review from Citysearch 7/29/2014

I won't be back to this clinic..ever... I was informed that I could not receive a cortisone shot and have a ultrasound on the same day due to insurance regulations. I live 60 miles round trip from the clinic so I asked why not, they are not related. I was again told it was insurance regulations.\r I called my insurance company and was assured that it was not an insurance concern and that they would have no problem with this being done. One of my insurance agents even called the clinic with a detailed explanation of this while I was one the line also.\r The office manager then explained that it was THEIR policy and not the insurance that says you cant do two procedures in one day. Mind you, one of these is a 30 second shot of cortisone . Why did they lie to me numerous times??? Again I explained that I live 60 miles away. About 10 bucks in gas. Why???\r If this office cannot be any more accommodating instead of just plain ugly about this situation it certainly reflects the overall attitude and I don't want any part of it. \r Rick Autery more

This doctor can't be trusted. He is all about getting patient in and out for the money. He will order test that are not needed just to bill the insurance I wen n for a UTI and he ordered me two ultrasounds and then called me in 5 prescriptions which were two antidepressants, one pain medicine, a medicine to stop smoking, and a medication for a hyper thyroid. I don't smoke, my thyroid is fine and I am not depressed. He does not take the time to listen to his patients. He seems like he is on some type of medication his self. I will never go back. more

Nothing but good things....... 1/20/2012

Dr. Mark is a very competent and engaging Dr. He listens to what i have to say before he begins his examination. I have seen him on several occasions recently for Acute Bronchitis and later a hairline fracture to my foot. Both visits were fast, efficient and professional. His staff is always helpful and friendly. It is important to have a good relationship with your Dr and with Dr. Mark you feel like family. He did not run any tests that were unnecessary and only prescribed the medications i needed and in generic form per my request. In the end, i got over my bronchitis quickly and my foot has now healed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back tomorrow if i needed to see a Dr. Don't let a few bad reviews cloud your judgement.....every day is not perfect for anyone and we are all only human after all. more

I know I'm in the right place! 1/20/2012

I have been going to Dr. Mark for years and I am 90 years old. I contribute my long life to Dr. Mark's good care. His office is friendly, caring and make me feel as though I couldn't find a more knowledgable, safer place to be. I feel as though God led me to Doctor Mark so I would be well taken care of. I am here till the end! more

The BEST in town! 1/20/2012

I was referred to Dr. Mark by a friend and I am very pleased! He was very kind and wanted only what was best for my care. He went into great detail, explaining my symptoms and how he would help me. Never have I been to a doctor that seemed to genuinly care about finding an answer. And as said before, the scriptures on the board were just the icing on the cake! I thank my friend for the referral, and will refer him to any one who needs a PCP. more

Worth the travel 1/20/2012

Dr. Mark and his staff make my travel to Murfreesboro from Memphis worth the trip. Dr. Mark really takes his time to listen to my needs and concerns. His office is very neat and clean and his staff is very professional when calling to remind me of upcoming appointments or calling with test results. Though there are many doctors in my new hometown of Memphis, I appreciate the genuine care I receive from Dr. Mark and his staff and I will continue to make the trips to Murfreesboro as long as they are needed to keep me healthy! more

Best Doctor I've EVER been to! 1/19/2012

I've been going to Dr. Josovitz for 10 years. He is professional, brilliant and ethical. He post's scriptures on his white board and has prayed with members of my family during difficult diagnosis. Its a shame that disgruntled employees feel they have to lash out. He should sue them. HE's an AMAZING Dr. who really cares for his patients. Outstanding Doctor. more

GOOD DOCTORS HARD TO FIND 1/19/2012

I find Dr. Mark to be very thorough. He is very caring about his patients. Whenever I visit there, I can tell their staff works very hard to make things flow smoothly. They are friendly and treat you like family. I do not mind waiting on a doctor that obviously everyone else likes for when I visit there, they are almost always a full house. I have met some very fine people in the waiting room who brag about having been with Dr. Mark for years. He has always met my every need and taken very good care of me so I plan to be with him for many years to come also. more

THE WORST EVER 1/18/2012

First let me save you the trip as well as the gas of going to Stones River Medical Center. In my whole life I've never came across at doctors office let alone a docotor thats so terrible in my enitire life!! Dr. MArk sees a average of 120 patients a day. That means he is in a room for no more than 2 minutes with each patient! You will only talk to the nurses. He will order every test they have in house so that they can bill your insurance lots of money and they dont care if you are self pay! Even if you go for a simple cold he will have you come back every few days forever!!! He doesn't care about you health only how much money he can get out of you! DR. MARK HAS HAD HIS MEDICAL LISENSE TAKEN FOR DRINKING AND DRUGING WHILE AT WORK WHILE SEEING PATIENTS! NOW HE HAS TO TAKE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST WEEKLY BY ANOTHER DOCTOR! DO YOU WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR WITH A DRUG PROBLEM? I DON'T! THE WORST THING OF ALL IS ONE DAY I WAS LEAVING AND I SEEN DR. MARK COME OUT OF A EXAM ROOM WITH A HARD ON AND THE LADY PATIENTS BREAST WHERE OUT OF HER SHIRT!!!! WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THERE? IT SURE WASN'T HIS WIFE! HE HAS SEX WITH HIS STAFF AND PATIENTS!! NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE!!!!You will sit all day waiting for your appointment and if one of their favorites comes in way after you they will get to walk right back. THE OFFICE MANAGER CHRISTIE COVERS HIS MESS UPS AND LIES FOR HIM! I WOULD GO THERE AGAIN IF I WAS DIEING AND HE WAS THE LAST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD! more

Good and Bad 1/4/2012

First, let me say, Jill is amazing! She knows me by name even with no chart. She remembers me, my name, why I was last in and what we did. I had an appt right after the two offices combined. The charts had not been brought over yet and honestly the office was complete chaos. The nurse was weighing me when Jill came over, called me by name and began asking me how things were and if the meds she had given me were helping. I must say I was impressed. I absolutely love Jill, that’s true. She has helped me so much. I only ever came in when I was sick, but she always took wonderful care of me. I had been having issues for years with something else, but was dealing with other offices for that issue. I never really thought about it when I was sick and never even thought to mention it to Jill. The others kept telling me nothing was wrong. Finally, it got to the point I had to have help ASAP. Things were getting scary. Jill took one look at me and said she had a good idea, ran the tests and it was as expected. Years of arguing with others and it took mentioning it once to her! Wish i had thought to do so sooner, but again I only saw her when I was sick and didn't think about that then. ...And for the bad. The two offices merged. Period. It was much better before. Wait times are horrendous. Jill has always been super about keeping my bill as low as possible ever since I lost my job and my insurance. I pay my bill in full every visit (and I have to come in monthly for blood work now). The office sends me a bill every time saying I owe additional money. At my next visit I always ask and as always they tell me I owe nothing and it was a mistake. It gets old. Still, this is minor compared to what really made me mad. I am having to seriously consider whether SRMG is the right place for me now. I noticed some concerning issues and felt that my condition/meds were the cause. I spoke with Jill and she agreed. She wanted blood work to confirm. She said results would be back in 2-3 days and if I hadn't heard anything call on the 4th day. Fair enough. Well day 4 rolls around and nothing, so I called. I asked to speak with Jill or be sent to her voice mail. Instead I got the nurse's voice mail. I left a message anyway. This was a Friday. On Monday I called again and got voice mail and no return phone call. The same on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I called and got a bit ugly. They transferred me directly to the nurse...finally a real person. She told me everything was fine to continue the meds. I asked exactly what my levels were and she told me. The levels the nurse told me didn't sound correct to me, but I couldn't remember for certain what Jill had told me was the normal range. I decided I needed an appt. When I saw Jill she agreed I needed to stay off the meds and that my levels were very low. My meds are meant to lower them. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation for me had I blindly listened to this nurse. I am extremely disturbed by this situation. I have always thought Jill was wonderful and I still do. She goes out of her way to help me out and I would say definitely goes above and beyond, but the rest of the staff worries me. This is not something I ever worried about prior to the merge, but now I have doubts that I will get the care I need. The staff is...I'm not really sure what they are, but I don't feel they give the best care they can. Jill was the one that told me that I have to be my own best advocate. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. Continue to see Jill because I think she is wonderful and has my best interest at heart, but worry about the staff, or look for another provider? more

Nice Staff, VERY Unprofessional Team 4/28/2011

I use to go to this doctors office and I know all too well that most of these reviews are true. YES TRUE. The don't care and want your money. I would NOT recommend these people to anybody at all. And NEVER call them for any advice or help.... all you get is ""lay down"" ""well maybe it could be this"" ""well blah blah blah"" and it sure does not help you when your in pain or whatever. So I changed doctors all together. more

Disappointed Paintent 3/31/2011

I and my wife have been coming to Stones River Med. for 15 years, when making an appointment on March 31 2011 I was told that I owed $ 12.00 and it needed to be paid before I could set up an appointment, when I called back to try and get someone else I was put on hold for a long time to where I felt it was done so I would hang up and call some one else,I like Dr. Mark but there seems to be some real issues in the office area, it is a shame that we will have to start going some where else because of a simple $ 12.00 dollar bill even though my insurance is billed alot of money every time,i am sure it is always enough to more than cover a $ 12.00 dollar bill, what happen to helping people more

They are a rip-off 9/26/2010

All they want is $$$. They want to run unnessary test just to charge your insurance. They do not listen to what you are telling them. I refussed to let them run a blood and urine test on me when I went in with a pulled muscle in my back. They got very short and hateful with me after I told them no. Everyone should take a good look at your bill and do not be surprised if you receive a bill from them a year and half later. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would not even take my dog to that place. I love my dog. I turly beleive that is why Dr. Turpin left. more

Super Slow and Uncaring 9/7/2010

Went to the S. Church office 4 times on a work related injury. Had several parts of the body affected. They took x-rays, made another appointment, each time. Finally on the third visit, the doctor actually touched part of the body from one of the injuries. That should have been done on the first visit, if not all of them. On the fourth visit, I waited 1 hour in the waiting room, and another hour in the holding room. One person who came in after I did, left a half hour before I did, so she got seen before I did. No need making an appointment like I did, as they don't live up to it. I finally got so upset after 2 hours of not being seen, I left. I guess they didn't care, because they never called me to see what happened. I have only seen one doctor ever working, the 4 visits I made. Definitely, short handed, and poorly managed. I am very upset with the service I received and will never return. \r NOW-I can't get $50.00 back, that I accidentally paid on a claim for this workman's comp. I have contacted the billing office, and TWICE, was told the money would be sent. After 6 weeks, I called and talked to a supervisor, and she said that it would be taken care of. NOW- 2 1/2 weeks later I still have not gotten my money. TODAY-10/3/2011, I called the billing office twice, and left messages to call me, never receiving a call back. The one time I went into the office and confronted the 2 billing clerks, who I had left 5 voice messages, and asked why I was never called back. The answer was, they were too busy. My next step will be to contact the Better Business Bureau. more

Had his license suspended 7/13/2010

Dr Mark has had his license suspended and has been sanctioned by a panel of his peers in the past. You can look this information up yourself. He runs test you don't need and doesn't care about anything but money. Even other Doctors talk about how bad he is and call him an incompetent Doctor. The first day I saw him he ordered a battery of test including an ultra sound of my ovaries. When I pointed out to the tech I had no ovaries she laughed and said well we have to pay for this machine and did the test anyway. Also Dr Mark commented to my husband and I about the bombing going on in Lebanon. He said I hope they kill them all. I said not the babies. He said even the babies, I am a Bronx Jew and I can say that. What Doctor wants people killed. I never went back. Yesterday my Mom told me that even though she hasn't seen Dr Mark or been to his office in three years she was able to get his office to refill one of her prescriptions. Why the heck he is still practicing is beyond me. Cons: He not a good man or doctor more

Excellent Doctor and Awesome Person! 5/28/2010

Dr. Mark, has not only been a wonderful doctor for me and my family, he has been far more than that. He has been a very good friend, counselor, motivator! He helped me thru one of the worst times in my life, when I lost my 13 year old son to cancer. He was not only there for me, but he was there for my older children. He has always been extremely thorough when taking care of us. I am very greatly for that. If I would have had a doctor like that before my son got sick, they might have been able to catch his cancer before it spread, which would have greatly improved his survival rate! Two and a half months ago, I started on his weight loss program. I have not had the need to implement all of what he offers, but for what I have done, I have lost over 50 pounds!!!!! And have completely changed my lifestyle to make sure that I keep it off! Every week I go into his office, he makes sure that he recognizes my accomplishments, even though I am not seeing him! He might only give me a thumbs up across the waiting room, but that means alot! And I know that even though he has a huge patient load, he truly remembers each one of his patients! And there is nothing wrong, in him saying God loves you! I will never forget that I was rushed to mtmc on a saturday afternoon, he came in to the hospital from playing tennis, and took care of me! He is awesome, and worth the wait!!!! Pros: Caring staff, Dr. Mark goes above and beyond expectations! Cons: wait times! But for the best what can you expect! more

Don't waste your $$$$ 2/4/2010

I am switching providers as of today. He's got a decent bedside manner once you get past the rediculous waiting time. He'll put every mechanical device known to man on you; order tests to drain your insurance, but won't even do the coomon ""finger wag"" to check your prostate. He's quick in and out, and on to the next patient without even giving you the common decency to afford time for you to ask questions. His staff is well trained in providing excuses, and they have a hatfull of them. My $$$ are better spent with someone who cares about ME, not money. Pros: Does every useless test known to man Cons: EXTREMELY long waits, poor excuses more
