First, let me say, Jill is amazing! She knows me by name even with no chart. She remembers me, my name, why I was last in and what we did. I had an appt right after the two offices combined. The charts had not been brought over yet and honestly the office was complete chaos. The nurse was weighing me when Jill came over, called me by name and began asking me how things were and if the meds she had given me were helping. I must say I was impressed. I absolutely love Jill, that’s true. She has helped me so much. I only ever came in when I was sick, but she always took wonderful care of me. I had been having issues for years with something else, but was dealing with other offices for that issue. I never really thought about it when I was sick and never even thought to mention it to Jill. The others kept telling me nothing was wrong. Finally, it got to the point I had to have help ASAP. Things were getting scary. Jill took one look at me and said she had a good idea, ran the tests and it was as expected. Years of arguing with others and it took mentioning it once to her! Wish i had thought to do so sooner, but again I only saw her when I was sick and didn't think about that then.
...And for the bad. The two offices merged. Period. It was much better before. Wait times are horrendous. Jill has always been super about keeping my bill as low as possible ever since I lost my job and my insurance. I pay my bill in full every visit (and I have to come in monthly for blood work now). The office sends me a bill every time saying I owe additional money. At my next visit I always ask and as always they tell me I owe nothing and it was a mistake. It gets old. Still, this is minor compared to what really made me mad. I am having to seriously consider whether SRMG is the right place for me now. I noticed some concerning issues and felt that my condition/meds were the cause. I spoke with Jill and she agreed. She wanted blood work to confirm. She said results would be back in 2-3 days and if I hadn't heard anything call on the 4th day. Fair enough. Well day 4 rolls around and nothing, so I called. I asked to speak with Jill or be sent to her voice mail. Instead I got the nurse's voice mail. I left a message anyway. This was a Friday. On Monday I called again and got voice mail and no return phone call. The same on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I called and got a bit ugly. They transferred me directly to the nurse...finally a real person. She told me everything was fine to continue the meds. I asked exactly what my levels were and she told me. The levels the nurse told me didn't sound correct to me, but I couldn't remember for certain what Jill had told me was the normal range. I decided I needed an appt. When I saw Jill she agreed I needed to stay off the meds and that my levels were very low. My meds are meant to lower them. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation for me had I blindly listened to this nurse. I am extremely disturbed by this situation. I have always thought Jill was wonderful and I still do. She goes out of her way to help me out and I would say definitely goes above and beyond, but the rest of the staff worries me. This is not something I ever worried about prior to the merge, but now I have doubts that I will get the care I need. The staff is...I'm not really sure what they are, but I don't feel they give the best care they can. Jill was the one that told me that I have to be my own best advocate. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. Continue to see Jill because I think she is wonderful and has my best interest at heart, but worry about the staff, or look for another provider?
