I always hesitate taking my vehicles to Dealerships as the prices are typically much higher than non-dealerships and the quality of the work performed is lower. I was in for a surprise this time when I took my 2012 Tucson in for it's 15,000 mile service. I brought in the Mobil 1 100%synthetic oil, noN back-flow oil filter, air filter and cabin filter. I had watched a Youtube video on how to change your own cabin air filter. It looked pretty simple on the video, but you never know. Additionally, some Hyundai forums stated the cabin filters don't really need to be changed as often as Hyundai recommends. I told Ron I was curious what my cabin filter looked like and could the mechanics save the old filter for me to look at so I could see for myself. Ron did better than that. He walked out to my car and changed the cabin air filter himself. He showed me how to drop-down my glove box to get to the cabin filter. Then he pulled my old cabin filter out. Was the forum right or Hyundai??? Well, my filter was FILTHY and I take really good care of my vehicle. It is cleaned regularly and garaged. I was rsurprised. Thanks to RON actually taking time to TEACH me something about my Hyundai, it made my trip much more interesting and fun. Plus, he didn't charge me the $35 for the mechanics to do something so simple. Therefore, even though Hyundai may have lost the $35, thanks to Ron they have now gained a loyal customer. I will be back to spend my money at this Dealership if Ron is my Service Manager. Well done, Ron!! (P.S. I am also now looking at buying a Santa Fe Turbo. I took a test drive with Xavier when I was waiting for my Tucson).
