STOCKTON HONDA WONT TAKE CARE OF YOU POST-SALE!! \r \r EXPECT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AFTER YOU BUY A USED CAR\r \r I bought my used Acura TL and the next day i noticed that the alignment was off. I asked my salesmen if we could get it fixed and he pretty much said they wont work on cars after you have signed. It wasn't until after I went and left reviews of my experience that they offered to get it taken care of and correct the alignment.\r \r So i go to get the alignment sorted out and they fixed that but it still pulled to the right and they said that it was because the tires were damaged due to the alignment being off. I called the manager there and told him what the situation was and he said that all they could do is give me a discount but that I would have to buy new tires myself.\r \r Instead of doing right by the customer, they will just hope that you go away. Im not a vengeful person, but i wanted to buy a car that was working as it should and they aren't willing to correct problems that they had no problem selling to me. more

7/16/2014 ZERO if I could, I will never go there again. Made an appointment for a used car buyers inspection for the 16th for a 2013 Honda ridgeline. I asked what was included ie. do they check the frame for damage and ABS or electronic codes for the engine etc. The lady who made the appt for me said yes they check that. She said it is the same inspection we do when we buy a used vehicle or trade in. I also asked how long does it take for the inspection, I was told an hour and 1/2 to two hours. I thought great, they are thorough, and it sounded like a good expense of $111 dollars before I buy the car. I parked outside and walked in to the service bay and of the 7 people in there it took them a good few minutes of me standing there before anyone said ""can I help you""? There are no signs of where to check in or who to talk to. The guy who checked me in finally was nice and wrote the vin and mileage down and put info into the computer. I asked him what was checked in the buyers inspection, he said all the stuff we check when we buy a car, so I asked specifically about the ABS and electronic codes and air bags and frame damage etc because there was a DRL light on the dash. I thought there was a problem because the Daytime Running Lights were not on. He said let me check if there are any recalls for that, he said no. I asked will they check that specifically and plug in to get the problem codes, he said yes.\r Having received the ""yes, they will check that"" answer I went to the waiting room. 25 min later, Randy calls me and says we are done. I thought that was fast, too fast. I walked out to the service area and the first thing they do is grab your credit card even before he would answer any questions. They push so fast to get you out of there Randy said everything passed, here are your keys and there is your car. I had to stop him and ask him if he checked the spare to see if the jack and lug wrench and such were there, he didn't know he had to look at the pass/fail sheet to see and said it doesn't look like we check that and he was gone.\r So i drive the 30 miles back to the dealers and notice the Running Lights are not on and the DRL light is still on the dash. I look over the pass/fail sheet and under TECHNICIAN: there is ""no name on file"". The section, Equipment: has exterior lights - PASS. I called to talk to Randy he said he would have to ask the tech who worked on it. Except there is no name on file. He called me back and said that if it was made in Canada VS the US then blah blah blah I don't even know where Roseville is, I said California. He said something like the tech honestly doesn't remember the DRL light on the dash. I said it is an exterior light and you put PASS on it except they are not working and I even told the check in guy about the DRL code before you saw it. He said you guys did electronic code. I repeated myself saying it is not working and you put ""PASS"" on the sheet. I said I wonder what else ""FAILED"" that you ""PASSED"" because you obviously didn't check it. Then he got short with me and said that is not one of the things we check. I knew I was getting nowhere with him because he was getting ""short"" with me and they didn't do even the obvious visual checks even after I told them about it. \r They were not thorough, they were not honest, then they blew me off when I had proof that they didn't do what they said. Their 1 1/2 to 2 hour ""check"" was less than 25 min because they didn't do what they said they would apparently. Save yourself some grief don't use the service at Stockton 12 honda. more

First off let me just say this. Anyone who has EVER bought a new car before WILL have some bad experiences with one or another dealer. Just the nature of the business. When you find a good dealer it's often worth sticking with them. If there is ONE dealer I wouldn't step foot in due to their horrid business practices it's any Larry Miller dealership. They are crooks of the highest order. With that said I've bought from Ken Garff (not bad at all) and Mark Miller. Mark Miller is a good solid organization. Although the sales staff at Karl Malone Toyota changes faster than the donuts at KrispyCreme, it is a very tightly run ship with an excellent service department. \r Fast forward. I wanted to get into a lease and OUT of my Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE. One of my first considerations was a Honda, I'm in sales myself now for well over 40 years so I know the drill. If there is ONE thing I've learned the BEST way to buy a car is to CALL a dealership and forge a relationship with someone on the phone PRIOR to your visit. Let them know all of what you are trying to accomplish BEFORE you go, and set an appointment to meet with them. This will avoid the ""shark tank"" mentality environment MOST dealers have.\r Now stay with me. I called and spoke to Chuck Davis a sales guy at Stockton Honda. We had a nice detailed conversation regarding the plausibility of the deal I wanted to do. I was going to have them pay off my Toyota and I wanted to lease with NO money down (an unlikely scenario) He said he did not and would not waste my time, and that it COULD be done based on the info I gave him.\r I even brought my wife there at 6pm to speak to them and see if we could work out a deal. Mark was VERY personable and not the typical sales closer mentality. He went out to the lot and picked out a new top line Civic just to see if that might be all I need, than I told him as nice as that was I wanted to go all out with a EX-L Accord 2014. He had ONE on the lot, that hadn't even been test driven (3 miles on it) and just prepped from the truck. White pearl with tan perforated leather and all the bells and whistles. He went for a test drive with us and explained all the technology it had as it is FULL of high tech safety features, heated seats, sun roof and tons more.\r When we went back to do the deal the sales manager on duty was apparently a real hard nosed guy and poor Mark came back multiple times with offers I didn't want or accept. So I took the bull by the horns and told him to take the deal I mentioned back to him and bring me back a simple YES or NO. (sometimes you have to be VERY firm with these pesky sales managers as they just want to milk a deal for all they can). In the end I got a lease for the price I wanted to pay, NO money down, and got the car at INVOICE ( yeah I verified online through some reputable sources what dealer markup was and cost) AND to boot they caved and gave me MORE than top value of my car so as to provide Honda Leasing with a visual money down contribution. So in the end we all shook hands and the car is awesome. I was there as they prepped the car and I signed paperwork. Their finance guy was a real hoot and a joy to work with. Even cut me a deal on a service upgrade really cheap so I won't ever pay a penny for ANY service or repairs. It was an excellent experience, as good as i've ever had if not better. The final was the general manager coming out as we were getting ready to leave, and asked how our experience was and thanked us for the business and said if there was anything he could do just give him a call. I feel this is a class act indeed. There were a couple of ""young pup"" salesmen there I would have steered clear of. Just do as I did call ahead and forge a relationship to avoid the shark tank and you'll be fine. Sorry for the long story but wanted others to get a good feel of what they can expect and how to approach it in a pain free manor. Also if you want a fun and clean experience look up Chuck....he's a winner :-) more

Worst auto service experience in my life. Steer clear of this place. \r It all started a little over a year ago, in April of 2012. My Honda Civic was lacking engine power, so I took it to Stockton Honda only because it's closest to my home in Herriman. Stockton Honda service told me that I needed the catalytic converter replaced for a total cost of $1,600. Believing that ""you get what you pay for"" I payed the full amount, trusting a dealership over a local mechanic. Fast forward to July 2013 and 22,000 miles later. Same problem as a year ago, and Stockton Honda now wants me to buy another Catalyitic Converter. Rick (the service representative on site) told me that he believes that my catalytic converter went bad due to ""the recent addition of ethanol"" to fuel pumps around the state. Obviously that didn't go over with me very well since our family has never had a catalytic converter issue with any vehicles during my lifetime, and my last Honda had over $300,000 miles without any catalytic converter issue. \r I ended up requesting to speak with the service department manager (I believe her name is Christie). Christie told me that her hands were tied, and that she would ask the regional service manager if Stockton Honda could replace my catalytic converter, but that he was out for the 4th of July week (understandable). Well I heard back from Christie today, and was told that the regional manager said that my catalytic converter was likely bad due to ""the use of low octane fuel,"" and that there was nothing Stockton Honda could do. I thanked her for at least speaking to her manager about the situation. So the moral of the story here folks is that:\r \r 1. Stockton Honda won't stand by their work for a major repair that i've had a little over a year.\r 2. Stockton Honda (and their regional service manager) knows what kind of gas i'm putting in my honda (low octane). He must be a professional psychic, watching me at all times.\r 3. Stockton Honda doesn't care about my business, nor realize the ""big picture"" of customer service. \r 4. Stockton Honda has therefore lost my business.\r 5. I've never had a bad experience at other Honda service locations = stay away from this location.\r \r Thank you Stockton Honda for the worst service experience of my life.\r \r Truly Yours,\r \r -The lowly customer (who obviously is using low-octane fuel). more

low class snakes 3/13/2012

the only reason this has one star is because it required it. i wouldn't give them anything this dealership is low class and filled with car sharks.my husband and i stopped by the auto mall thinking it would be a great experience because there are so many dealerships there if we didn't find what we wanted at one we would walk on over to the next. our first stop was at stockton 12 honda. we were automatically greeted by a brand new salesman. we told him we just wanted to look around then we would let him know if we needed help. he told us well we do things different here let me get some information from you and pull some keys. after sitting there for 2 hours listening to him tell personal stories he finally pulled some keys. we went and looked and i didn't find anything i loved and i told him i wanted to go shop somewhere else he insisted that i look and test drive some of there's so i humored him and did so. i told him i don't like any of these and for the 2nd time told him exactly what i was looking for. the manager came out and told me to go drive the other lots with this salesman and if i find the car i wanted to bring it back and he will get me into it for the price i wanted to pay. so i cruzed around the other lots for about 5 minutes not really looking at the other cars and when we made it back to the store he called his other stores in the valley to see if they had the car i wanted. he came back telling me that the car i wanted was at their murray store and we were going to head over there to get it. so we hoped in the car and went to the murray store after sitting at that store for an hour he came back and told us they sold the car that morning. at this point i was so annoyed i was ready to get back to my vehicle i drove there in and go home. as we were pulling out of the murray store's parking lot we seen another car that i loved and he said lets get back to the other store i have 3 of those on the lot. we can get you into one for your price. we drove back to the other store in rush hour and sat down to talk. he heads back into the managers office to talk and comes back and starts wheeling and dealing with us trying to have us pay 2 thousand more than we wanted to pay. we told him no way we layed out the price for him when we got there and he assured us he will get us in a vehicle for that price out the door. so after him going back and forth he comes back with a price 500 more than we wanted to pay i thought okay if i like the car then i am willing to pay that much more i said can we test drive the car first? come to find out he was wheeling and dealing with us on a car we didn't even want or didn't even tell him we wanted that we test drove earlier. we asked him what happened to the other car he says to us i thought i told you we couldn't get you into that one. No he did not tell us he tried jamming a piece of crap car down our throats i am not sure why he pulled that car if it was 2 thousand over our budget in the first place. I will never do business with these people again more

Great experience 8/4/2011

Shawn was an awesome sales guy to work with. He was very friendly, and really listened to us to make a deal that worked well for us. We had a limited amount of time to work with, and he worked quickly to get the deal done. After I purchased the car, he was very thorough with making sure I got a lesson about everything in the car. I love my new Odyssey! Thank you for making it such a great experience for me. more

Great experience 8/2/2011

Buying my new Crosstour was a great experience thanks to both Trefon and Alex. They were absolutely great to work with and were the reason I bought the car. Highest level of professional attitude 7/20/2011

The staff (John, Kel, and Tom) are very respectful and accommodating during and after the transaction. Although it took 4 hours of hard negotiation, John was able to keep his highest level of professional attitude wherein me and my wife still felt very comfortable. We ended up with a great CRV with a ""good"" price because some of the accessories I would like to have didn't came through with the price I wanted, but the APR that Tom was able to get was excellent. Please continue with your professionalism and I will definitely recommend your dealership. more

We walked out happy 7/18/2011

Godo experience. Sales and finance to all they could to make a it a good experience and we walked out happy in the end. The back and forth price negotiating got long but they were understanding. Did their best to get us out the door once a decision was made. Have called us a few times to check if we have questions which was nice. more

very friendly and professional 6/21/2011

This is our fourth car from STM, and every time we have found that the sales people are very friendly and they know all the details and the features of the vehicles we decided to purchase. This time, Quinn was so helpful and patient with our questions. He has followed up with us several times to make sure we are happy with our purchase. Each time we have been comfortable with the finance manager, and this time was no exception. In fact, Tom was the best and most efficient finance manager yet. He was thorough in his explanations and answered all our questions. Monica, the customer service manager, is an incredibly talented person who resolved an issue with our payoff to Honda. She took care of our request in record time and was very friendly and professional. Overall, we would give the dealership 5 out of 5 stars. They really couldn't do a better job. more
