Editorial review from Citysearch 7/31/2012

I have used this Vet before and never had any problems. I haven't had a pet in 3 years. I recently got a Chow puppy and took him there. I have to admit that Martha Stewart didn't decorate, but it was clean and did not smell. The people were all nice. the front, the assistant and the vet. Their prices are reasonable also. more

If you love your pet, heed my advice... 1/2/2012

If you care about your beloved pet, then do not bring it to Stockbridge Veterinary Clinic. The front-end staff are very rude and heartless, they make it clear they only care about one thing, and that's how much they can tack onto your bill. The entire building is antiquated which reflects the vet's knowledge perfectly, having most recently attended school to be a veterinarian more than 20 years ago. Things change, go update your education!!! Do not trust these vets and their outdated ways. They're not thorough at all and are quick to make a diagnosis within the first few seconds of looking at your pet. They will not consider your information and insist THEY know more about YOUR pet's behavior. As for the receptionists, they don't thank you or wish your pet well. Instead, they sit there and complain about how the customer wasn't charged enough. I hope anyone who loves their pet doesn't subject them to sub par care at an inflated price. more

DR LEDFORD IS A GREAT VET 7/17/2011

I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY PETS TO DR LEDFORD FOR 22 YEARS, AND WILL CONTINUE TO AS LONG AS I HAVE ANIMALS. HE HAS OPERATED ON 9 DIFFERENT ANIMALS I HAVE OWNED OVER THE YEARS. NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT VET, ITS OBVIOUS HE REALLY CARES ABOUT ANIMALS. IF YOU REALLY LOVE YOUR ANIMALS, THE CARE THEY RECEIVE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW THE HOSPITAL SMELLS. LONG TIME CUSTOMER more

Vets that treat wildlife are few and far between 7/17/2011

Although I have never met this vet, or had any dealings with him, I would just like to give a big shot-out to Dr. Waggoner for accepting and treating wildlife. Most vets don't care about wildlife because they can't make any money off of them, but there are a few like SVH that will donate their time and resources to help the most vulnerable. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Monteen McCord www.hawktalkdotorg more

Unbelievable treatment to a longtime customer 6/2/2011

I have used this Vet for YEARS, at least 5 years. I bring my dog, a Min Pin and our cat, before we gave him to a friend about a year ago. They have always been attentive and eager to discuss options in service and the best possible care for my pets. I was reading the reviews and thinking to myself that this could not be the same vet I use! It is time for my dog?s yearly check-up so I called to make an appointment. The lady that answered the phone seemed extremely aggravated that I was even calling. And then when I tried to tell her that my dog had some issues I wanted checked she actually told me that she didn?t know what I needed. I was trying to ask her about the cost of vaccines that my dog may need and she she continued interrupting me and saying ?I don?t know?. I finally told her not to worry about it I would call another vet and she hung up on me! Wow, great service to a long time customer! Appreciate it! more

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because I had to give a rating in order to publish the review. more

VETS SAVE TEETH!!!! and I didn't have to pay through mine! 11/28/2010

We are the proud grandparents of a mixed lab dog and an orange tabby cat. The vet in Forsyth County was killing us with outrageous charge$ for routine care. We were told that each pet needed a tooth extracted and that it would be $410.00 for the dog and $430.00 for the cat!!! We checked with two other vets up here and got $450.00 each, and another came in at $440.00 each. South of Stockbridge, a phone call estimate was $350.00 base price with possible additional charges. Then my head cleared and I remembered Stockbridge Veterinary Hospital. This was the place that I always used when we lived there years ago--my precious dog was always given excellent care, and she lived to be 15 years old (a Maltese mix). My other daughter presently uses them for her two kitties. I grabbed the phone and made an appointment. We took them in three days later, and they cleaned their teeth by laser method--neither one of them needed a tooth extracted!! Their mouths are healthy, and the total bill: anesthesia, take home antibiotics, complete exam came to...DRUM ROLL....$207.00 for both, together, period!!! If they had needed a tooth extraction, the charge would have been an additional $25.00 each. Needless to say, I was thrilled. The people there were great----even with a waiting room brim full of barking, meowing, pets waiting to be treated, they took time to answer all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. THANK YOU STOCKBRIDGE VETERINARY HOSPITAL for your careful, experienced examination of our pets, which saved them unnecessary pain and for prices that are reasonable and fair and saved me way over $600,00!!!!! more

Vet has no clue what they are dong 7/24/2010

We have taken our cat to this vet for sometime now, for shots and an ear infection. Over the years we keep taking him back for the infection and after $100 later each visit they have not given us anything that has helped out cats ear problems. I would not recommend this vet to anyone as far as medical goes. As far as shots go I guess they are OK more

Good Vet 6/2/2010

My dog got sick during the few days she was boarded, but the vet was quick to acknowledge that it was the fault of their kennel. He gave treatments for free, but even though we continue to use this vet....we NEVER went back to board. I found a great lady that comes to my house twice a day while we are gone to feed, water ,and walk both dogs. A Sitter For You in Fayetteville...Patsy @ 404-708-5549. Pros: Good vet for sick dog and for shots Cons: My dog got sick during the few days she was boarded more

Never had problems with this vet 3/18/2009

Not sure how I could have such a different experience then the rest of the people that have left comments. We have been going to this vet for the last 4 years and the staff has always been very friendly and prompt. When we got our Chi I checked at least six different vet offices and they had the best pricing out of all the vets and everyone we have dealt with in the office has also treated our furry children like they are special. I admit the office is in serious need of a facelift but again can't beat the prices and service that my animals and I get. Lake Harbin animal hospital is a rip off, we went there for several years and they informed me that our yellow lab mix had heartworms, we didn't have the $1000 for the treatment. They did a $35 treatment that would eliminate the ""baby"" heartworms but would do nothing to the already ""adult"" heartworms and could not guarantee how long she would live, we almost considered putting her down so she would not have to suffer. The next year is when we started going to Stockbridge Animal hospital and they tested her for heartworms and it came back negative. Heartworms do not just disappear. Lake Harbin Animal hospital needs to do a better job of reading test results apparently because there is no telling how many people have spent that $1000 and the animal did not have heartworms. I guess that vets office just puts the money in their pocket. We will continue to take our babies to Stockbridge Animal Hospital, they are GREAT!!! Pros: very friendly staff/great prices Cons: needs a facelift more

$16.00 to trim a dachshund's nails? Really? 1/7/2009

We decided to use Stockbridge Veterinary Hospital only because the person I had gotten my puppy from had began taking him there to get his puppy shots. They were fairly convenient for me and they had all his records so I figured I would give them a try. It is hard to explain, but much like another reviewer, I didn't get an overall good feeling about them. I had no real complaints, but I just didn't get the same fuzzy feeling I have when I take my other pets to the Conyers Veterinary Clinic, which is who I normally use. The staff seems very friendly, but something was just kind of...off. Pros: Convenient in Stockbridge, mostly friendly staff Cons: Pricing seems a bit high more

Indifferent 7/16/2008

Back in 2001-2002, I used to take four dogs to this Vet. and never had a problem. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I even had a spell where I just could afford the medication for my German Shepherd and the Vet. gave me the pills and ointment at no cost. To me, that is not a Vet that couldn't be bothered, rather he was looking out for my dog's best interest. Not to say that the staff may have changed since then, but I had no complaints in the past.\r \r As of 2003, I've moved to Cherokee County and use East Marietta Animal Hospital. Dr. Diaz is the best! He treats my pet as if it was his own. And he too has helped me out in times of need. I did come back and pay for the medication at a later date, but I couldn't recommend a better Doctor for your pets.\r \r East Marietta Animal Hospital\r 1799 Roswell Road\r Marietta, GA 30062\r 770-973-4830\r http://eastmariettaanimalhospital.com/ more

NEVER EVER EVER BOARD YOUR DOG HERE!!!!!! 6/27/2008

My boyfriend and I are new to Ga. and had to go out of town on short notice. We had to make quick choices on where to board our large dog- so we went with this place since it was right down the street from our house. When we returned 3 days later to pick our dog up- he looked AWFUL! He smelled as bad as he looked and was very lethargic. Once home he wanted to stay outside and kept using the bath room over and over again. Almost like he hadnt gotten the chance to ""go"" in days! When we called to complain, they didnt sound too concerned at all! We also found out that the dogs aren't allowed outside at all and they are put into a room and expected to relive themselves on the floor there ""due to a scent that they put down in the room"". So if your dog is use to using the bathroom outside- as MOST ALL dogs are- they will just hold it. I really should have done my home work on this place before boarding my dog here. So, in short its awful, the place smells awful (and your dog will too) and if I could go back in time I would have NEVER left my best friend in such bad hands. We found a great vet also near by- on Hudson Bridge Rd. that also does boarding and my dog loves it (and they give your dog outside time in a fenced area so they wont hold it in-very secure fenced area and a kennel assistant is always out there with them). My dog always comes home clean, looking good and happy from the Hudson Bridge Vets. Pros: Now I know not to ever take my dog here again for boarding! Cons: Just about everything. more

stockbridge vet hospital 6/21/2008

Had no complaints about treatment of the animals, and the staff were nice and the male doctor actually seemed to care about my pets. However, they do need to update/upgrade their buliding because it is very old and run down, even a bright fresh coat of paint would help. more

Dirty and run down! 4/8/2008

I was trying a new vet in the area and went to Stockbridge vet hospital. Staff seemed rude and the male doctor seemed bothered by me. The building is run down and old! more
