I absolutely love this place. The restaurant is famous for their Gumbo and Smokey Fried chicken which are both amazing but my personal favorite is the Shrimp N'awlins! It is sooo...

Good food, great entertainment - and no problem with service 4/29/2007

Several recent reviewers apparently had problems with the service at Stevie's, but that wasn't our experience at all. There were four of us, and we had reservations at 7:30 on Saturday night. The place was completely full - including a couple of very large groups - but we didn't experience any delays or other problems with service. The food was very good and the music was great.\r \r I'd recommend Stevie's to anyone who is looking for a fun, casual dinner with great live music. Pros: Great live music, good Southern food Cons: Very casual - not a date place more

A note on the service 3/28/2007

i used to work as a waitress at Stevies. i want to acknowledge that many of you have had horrible service at stevies. i saw it. i was (sometimes) a part of it. i tried to stop it. im a great server, i tried my hardest, and ive been serving food all my life. the ONLY reason i stayed there for so long was the money i made in tips, but i earned those tips. but i have never felt more disrespected as a worker in my life. if you have ever come in to stevies and sat waiting forever while your waitress ran around frantically & was then rude beyond belief when she got to your table & then forgot about you or brought cold food--i know the food is hella expensive there and you deserve good service, no excuses--but the managament kept the restaurant understaffed ALWAYS,to avoid paying extra servers money. as a result, servers would have four or more HUGE parties at once, with numerous smaller tables (of 2 or 3) all over the restaurant. During the daytime, management only had ONE person running the restaurant. that person had to seat people, take orders, get drinks, bring food, ring them up, bus tables, answer phones, do take-out orders, and help in the kitchen. this is CRIMINAL. afternoons got so busy that customers came in and had nowhere to sit because the server didnt have a free second to clean any tables. then we would be yelled at by management for not keeping the place clean. sometimes servers gave attitude to people who were hella rude after we worked hard for them--or left a truly insulting tip after a night of clearly trying to please them. no excuses--when you work in food service, you have to be able to deal with unpleasant people. but after a night of serving three tables of over 25 people and other small tables, getting a bad tip from a table we KNOW we served well is hard to take. and i wont even GO INTO the cattyness of the servers, which ALWAYS effects the service.\r when you have a horrible experience there, there is A LOT more going on underneath the surface. more

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE 3/7/2007

AND HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT WHEN YOU GET THE BILL. THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS PRETTY GOOD THOUGH. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE, JUST GO FOR A DRINK AND CATCH A SHOW. more

Bad Service and Business Practices 2/25/2007

My sisters and I were looking forward to visiting Stevie's place for the Oscar Party Night, after driving over 70 miles to get there. Instead, it became a very disappointing night. A number of unsatisfactory things happened: 1) It took over an hour to get water to everyone at my table. 2) The waitress insisted that after we ordered a $25.00 appetizers dish, that each of us had to order another item from the menu or we would be charged another $25.00 fee for sitting there and not eating, 3) The speakers stop working right after the Grammy Awards came on, so there was no sound on the large screen for the majority of the show. The service was poor and slow, I shared a $36.00 combo platter with one of my sisters, the other two sisters ordered dinners, and I was still charged an extra $25.00, which I had to dispute and have taken off my bill. This was a frustrating and disappointing experiences for myself and my sisters. We will not be back. However, the food was tasty and priced a little high. But, it was not worth the trouble and the attitudes of the waitress and its management. On top of that, she demanded tips of 18%, to add insult to the situation, when the service was lousy. There needs to be improvement in their management practices. Pros: Valid Parking Cons: Excess Charges not warranted more

STEVIES IS A BLAST!!! 2/6/2007

Stevie's is for a mature audience. I've been to Stevie's for several different occasions and have not been disappointed yet!!! I always make a reservation and arrive early to enjoy a drink in the bar while I'm waiting for my other guests. We are always seated on time and I like the prompt service. Management makes sure all guests are being taken care of. For those like me who like to enjoy a planned evening with friends and entertainment, make your reservations and be on time!! For those that like to mingle, meet/greet, and arrive later, as I back in my years!!!, you will be waiting to get in because the food is great!! Enjoy!!! Pros: Food, Valet Parking, Service Cons: Drinks expensive more

The Worst Service I Ever Had 1/24/2007

I wanted to have a good time for my 25th Birthday, but Stevies was not the place to be. A third of the blame could be geared towards my party because some of them showed up an hour passed or reservation time. However, the hostess did not inform me that if my party did not arrive on time our table would be given away. We had the impression that our table would be reserved until our party arrived. We tried to complain to the manager (in a respectable and professional manner) and he was rude and nasty. The place was packed and there was a two hour wait since our party was not all there. This establishement needs new management and they need to provide more informations to its patrons when making reservations. I will take my business elsewhere and have not recommed it to anyone since. Pros: Music, atmosphere Cons: management and staff. more

Great group fun 11/5/2006

I read the reviews prior to going and many weren't good, however, I went there with an open mind, because the couple of times I had been a long time ago weren't bad experiences. There were 10 expected in my party (my bro's birthday party), and we were all coming from different locations as far as 2 hrs away, so I made reservations a head of time. Only three people arrived on time- so we expected to lose our table, but on the contrary, the three to arrive first were seated and able to hold the table until the rest of our party arrived. Long story short, the service was GREAT, the waitress was cute, very friendly and very patient. The food was impeccable, and the entertainment was off the hook!!! We all had a fabulous time and the night was nearly perfect. A little on the high side as far as price, but I say Stevie's is definitely worth the money. I highly recommend Stevie's! Pros: Food, Entertainment, Ambience Cons: Price (worth it though) more

Is it packed? Yes. Is it noisy? Yes. Is the service just o.k.? Yes. Is it worth it? NO DOUBT!!!!!!! 10/1/2006

(Allow me to premise by saying I've worked in F&B for 6 years managing food outlets for Fairmont and 3 other 5 star establishments.) Indeed I had to wait 60 minutes on my first visit-the reason being that I came in at 8pm on a Saturday and basically no tables wanted to leave after the fantastic, funky and powerful band kicked off the party. The service was friendly but slow...but if you love Creole.....baby you are in for a treat. I'm addicted to New Orleans and Stevie's is authentic. Can Creole be a little greasy? Yes. Expect it to be. This place is for occations, so kiss your diet good bye for the evening. Start with the Seafood gumbo: An explosion of flavor accented with tall crab legs jumping out of the bowl. Next the Jambalaya and have the kitchen kick it up a notch-fire hot! They have Po-boys, and a host of other traditional creole dishes and soul food sides. NOTE: If you want a wonderful time at Stevie's here is the formula: 1. make a reservation for 7pm on Fri or Sat. 2. Be prepared for a noisy party going off. You need to be in the mood. 3. Get a good table near the band and if it's your b-day...you're dancing for the whole restaurant. 4. Eat, drink, and be very very merry in this authentic, lively, Jazzy, roudy, New Orleans style romp. Pros: If you like the whole Creole experience....You'll LOVE Stevies Cons: Slow service...don't even try to get in after 8:30. Nobody is leaving. more

Crowded but Fun 9/19/2006

Attended a birthday party here one Saturday night. This place was packed. The live entertainmet was very good as well as the service and the catfish. Definitely worth a visit. To the last reviewer, the Crenshaw location is no longer in business. Just thought I'd save you some gas. LOL. more

Worst Service Ever! Not Worth My Dime! 8/24/2006

To many restriction on menu, waitress the worst service, just trying to get in a Rap Video.\r Food is great, however with the prices and the service, I could have went to the Crenshaw location and order the same items to go. Do not Waste your time or money. Awful SERVICE! Pros: Food(However can get the same on Crenshaw Location) Cons: Worst Service EVER! more

Excellent Dining Experience 4/23/2006

Each time I have gone to Stevies, the food, service and entertainment has been excellent. more

This place was WRONG on so many levels! 4/3/2006

Made phone reservations and still waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a table. Finally sat down then waited 30 more minutes before a waitress appeared. The only reason she came was because the useless manager who had been wandering around trying to look important asked if we were ready for our bill. I said, ""Can I eat first?!?"" The waitress took our order and we never saw her again. She did manage to mess our order up. When I told the guy who brought our food out that the order was incorrect, he argued with me about it. We finally get our food and it was so greasy, I swear it clogged one of my arteries on contact. It was certifiably THE WORST dining experience of my life. Lucky for the manager and staff, it was my friend's birthday. Otherwise, they would've gotten a substantial piece of my mind. Cons: HORRENDOUS SERVICE, RUDE STAFF, GREASY FOOD more

MANAGEMENT HORRIBLE 3/19/2006

PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE STEVIES. TOTAL LACK OF CUSTOMERS CONCERNS.. Cons: DO NOT PATRONIZE more

Wowwww! 11/16/2005

I am so surprised with this restaurant. The first time I went, which was a couple of years ago. The food was awesome and the service was pretty good. But the more and more I started to go to Stevie's the service started to suck. The management was awful. The food was always cold. They have a huge turnover with there staff which is not surprising. The last time I went the food was actually awful. I wonder if they are getting rid of the cooks now. I recommend not dining here. If the prices were not so outrageous I would deal with it, but the prices are just too high for the service you receive from all the staff. Pros: Used to be good serv, Used to be good food Cons: Expensive, Bad service, cold food more

Great Place! 10/23/2005

Contrary to the other reviews I read, I recently hosted my bday party there. The staff was friendly, the waitress was great and the food was awesome! Well worth it. more

Kiss the Chef !! 9/14/2005

Great creole and southern cuisine. Lunch time is a good time to go if you are looking for a great local meal. The evening is social. Deserts, appetizers, entrees.... WoWsa! Good food. more

TIPS 8/11/2005

The food of course was delicious but the service was undoubtedly the worse I have ever received at any restaurant. I had to flag the waitress down to get water, I had to get the maitre d' to bring the bread, we had to wait forever for salads (they brought the soup after the meal was over), we had to wait even longer to get the main course, took forever to bring the bill. How can they justify tacking on a $36 tip when the service was so bad? Do not get me wrong, I do not mind leaving a 20% tip if I get good service, but a 17% tip tacked on to a check for terrible service is really atrocious. Maybe they have forgotten the fact that tip is an acronym for To Insure Prompt Service. Pros: Good Food, Good Atmosphere Cons: Terrible Service more

Love it 8/9/2005

Every time I have been to Stevie's I have had a great time, from the cocktails to the ambience. I've been there on special occasions like, Birthday and Mother's Day, and will be going there for my anniversary. Pros: food, cocktails, ambience more

Never Again... 6/26/2005

We all know the food is good but it's not that good when it's cold and comes along with bad service. I've been there a hand full of times, when there's music and when it's just a regular night. All the times I've went I was a patron at the bar which is not busy when there isn't any music. But somehow I always manage to be there on a night when the bartender disappears for long periods of times. And when she is the there she's busy chit chating with a waitress about nothing. I get more service from the busboy that doesn't speak English than her. Money not well spent and never again... Pros: happy hour, music, food Cons: bartender, managment, parking more

A really fun night out 5/8/2005

I went to Stevie's with friends who have been there before, and I read all the negative reviews before going. I must respond by saying - our waitress was friendly, and the manager personally walked me to the ladies' room when I asked where it was. Just because people don't smile while they're serving you doesn't mean you're not getting great service. The cocktails were great, and the food was good - particularly the appetizers. I prefer my food spicier, but the hot sauce made up for it, as did the exceptional music. It's a great place to kick back and have some fun. Pros: music, appetizers, service more
