Review content:
i used to work as a waitress at Stevies. i want to acknowledge that many of you have had horrible service at stevies. i saw it. i was (sometimes) a part of it. i tried to stop it. im a great server, i tried my hardest, and ive been serving food all my life. the ONLY reason i stayed there for so long was the money i made in tips, but i earned those tips. but i have never felt more disrespected as a worker in my life. if you have ever come in to stevies and sat waiting forever while your waitress ran around frantically & was then rude beyond belief when she got to your table & then forgot about you or brought cold food--i know the food is hella expensive there and you deserve good service, no excuses--but the managament kept the restaurant understaffed ALWAYS,to avoid paying extra servers money. as a result, servers would have four or more HUGE parties at once, with numerous smaller tables (of 2 or 3) all over the restaurant. During the daytime, management only had ONE person running the restaurant. that person had to seat people, take orders, get drinks, bring food, ring them up, bus tables, answer phones, do take-out orders, and help in the kitchen. this is CRIMINAL. afternoons got so busy that customers came in and had nowhere to sit because the server didnt have a free second to clean any tables. then we would be yelled at by management for not keeping the place clean. sometimes servers gave attitude to people who were hella rude after we worked hard for them--or left a truly insulting tip after a night of clearly trying to please them. no excuses--when you work in food service, you have to be able to deal with unpleasant people. but after a night of serving three tables of over 25 people and other small tables, getting a bad tip from a table we KNOW we served well is hard to take. and i wont even GO INTO the cattyness of the servers, which ALWAYS effects the service.\r when you have a horrible experience there, there is A LOT more going on underneath the surface.
