Avoid Spa Sydell Like the Plague!!! 4/9/2008

I was looking forward to FINALLY using 3 old spa gift certificates that I had received as gifts for my upcoming 30th birthday, but was informed that I could not redeem them because they are over 2 years old. That's over $400 of my friends' and families' hard earned money that they flat out STOLE. I am a VERY busy person and unfortunately haven't had time to take off a whole day to spend at the spa until now. I looked forward to a nice relaxing day at the spa for my 30th, but now I have to inform my friends and family that all their generosity went to waste. Money is money... these gift certificates should not expire. I realize prices may have changed, but I was more than willing to pay the difference. I will certainly be telling all of my friends and family to never buy me another gift certificate from this corrupt company again, and I warn everyone to avoid this unprofessional business like the plague! They aren't even that great of a spa to begin with. Cons: They steal people's hard earned money more

Fantastic Airbrush Tan! 4/4/2008

I have been to the spray booths around town several times, and each time I looked like I walked out of the Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. My friend suggested I try the hand-sprayed tan at Spa Sydell. At first, I was not so excited to be exposed in front of a stranger, but the woman (Meghan) doing the applicaiton made me feel so relaxed and comfortable, I was not as nervous as when I walked in.\r She explained the spray, how it works, and what to do at home. So, I dropped my robe, and off we went! In I think 10 minutes, I was a Bronze Goddess! AND, I was actually TAN not ORANGE! We were going on a cruise (and got engaged!!!), so I really wanted it to be perfect. And it was. I will be back.\r BTW-The service staff were very friendly. We were running late, and there was a HUGE line when we got there. BUt, the girl downstairs told me to just go up the elevator, and they were ready to get me back to the lockers just in time to get ready. After, Meghan gave me some tea and let me relax before rushing around again. They really were nice. My fiance and I are going back for a couple's massage and facial-can hardly wait!!! Pros: service and ambiance. Professionalism Cons: Need more staff at the check-in/check-out more

Terrible customer service 2/19/2008

I have been to the Forum recently and it has really gone down hill. The customer service is terrible. The girls at the front desk are rude and do not know anything about the services. Erin was the managers name and she was the ruddest. Natural Body Day Spa gets my vote. Spa Sydell: It is time to call it quits. There are too many nicer spas. Pros: Wonderful massage Cons: Customer Service, The place you call to make your appt., Dirty bathrooms, Management more

The Worst SPA EVER 1/28/2008

The worst Spa on the planet! they reused there sheets for all clients there staff are nasty and dirty, the manager florance was very unhelpful and she had no idea what any of the service do and what there good for. she was very rude and she doesnt like anyone thats not the same color as she! to other clients that walked in spa sydell is going to the dumps! Pros: there is no pros all the techs are worked to death and will be let go for whatever reason Cons: this spa at PARk place is the worst more

They've forgotten the true meaning of ""spa"" 11/25/2007

If you want to be pampered and treated as a king or queen, I do NOT recommend Spa Sydell at the Forum or any other Spa Sydell location for that matter. Guest service employees will patronize you just enough to get your money and if you have any disagreement with them they will slander you the minute you leave.\r Some technicians are kind and caring and give a wonderful massage or facial, but the rest of the spa leaves much to be desired. Only use Spa Sydell as a last resort! Pros: hours of operation Cons: rushed services and unprofessional staff more

Assembly line spa 9/4/2007

My daughter and I went to Spa Sydell at the Forum for a mother/daughter day. I had the 30 minute facial and body wrap. My daughter had a teen facial and message. I have been to a few other spas, including Spa Sydells and I must say the experience was mediocre.\r When we entered the spa, we were greeted with the smell of somones lunch. Something you don't expect to smell at a spa. The waiting area is nice with waterfalls and low lighting. My technician greeted me and escorted me to the change room. The change area is small, and there were used bath mats in front of the on the floor and empty glasses on the only bench in the room. The change area is small, so this was ackward. \r The body wrap included a ten minute steam, but. by tech ushured me out of there after about 5 minutes. tops. (I did not check in late) She then swftly painted some gel like substance on me and wrapped me up. I stayed there for about 10 minutes showered then was promptly moisturized. Not a very relaxing experience.\r The 30 minute facial was nice, but the entire time the tech tried to sell me something. Glycolic peel. waxes. product, etc etc..I finaly gave in and had a eyebrow wax. (She wanted to give me a brazillian)\r Im sure Sydell will be happy that her techs are upselling More money for her. But not a very relaxing experience at a spa. Which is the purpose is it not? \r This place has become an asembly line type place. Get em in get em out, next.\r Ok for quick services like waxes etc..but not great for pampering. \r I also agree with the poster that a better mani-pedi can be had at your local manicure place. Had one at the Alpharetta location last year and was very dissapointed.\r Pros: Convenient Locations and Hours of Operation Cons: Mediocre day spa more

Not Impressive! 3/14/2007

I have a facial once a month and have not yet found a good facial spa. Tried Spa Sydell in Gwinnett couple years go and was not impressed. So I thought let's try the Forum location b/c it could be a more upsale location. The first floor of the spa and water feature was nice. The elevator took me to the 2nd floor and again the decor was nice. I paid $85 for a 60 mins Sydell facial and the service lasted only 50 mins. I felt the service was rush, no detail extraction done on my face. The facial massage lasted only 5 mintues when I told her specifically I like alot of extraction and massage to be done on my face. She did not use any hot warm towels on my face and the towel texture was rough (cheap towel!) I did not get pampered and was disappointed with the service. Will never go back. more

A spa getaway in Atlanta! 10/23/2006

I had an excellent experience with the Spa Sydell location at the Peachtree Forum. Everyone was very curteous and attentive during my entir visit. I chose the 1/2 day with Sydell package and liked it so much I have made it a monthly ritual. From Dana who performed my massage to Kay who handled my manicure/pedicure, everyone treated my like a princess for a day. I would reccomend both of them to anyone looking to relax and find sanctuary in Atlanta. Pros: I spent $300 for 5 hours of pampering with exceptional service and treatments. I've never been so relaxed. Cons: I wasn't as pleased with my facial anesthician but I loved the service and booked again for my next visit with an alternate specialist. more

She Listened! 4/12/2006

I got the most fantastic massage from Dionne at the Forum (which I just found). Great location. Waterfall, music and the massage. The best I've had in years. I just finished traveling and was able to book a massage the same day. I told her what I needed, actually she asked and she went right to business. She didn't talk my ear off or push too hard (i've has some painful massages). Best deep tissue in years. Will be back. more

maybe it was just me 2/18/2006

I don't know what all the hype is about. I expected more from the infamous ""Spa Sydell"" I scheduled a facial and massage here. Facial wasn't too bad. Nothing out of the ordinary that set it above any other average facial I've received at other spas. The massage was one of the worst I've ever received. The girls hands were dry and rough (when it sounded like she was rubbing two pieces of sand paper together, I just knew I was in for a treat.) The walls were so paper thin, that I could hear other techs in the halls talking and laughing - not faintly either - I knew every word they were saying. And when I expressed my concern when checking out, it was more like ""oh that's too bad, so sorry you didn't like it..."" I'll never go back to this location. Pros: nothing Cons: price, service, attitude more

Great Place to Relax 11/30/2005

It is a great place to relax. The staff was very professional and courteous. Sineat Vilichay who did my facial, was very nice and friendly. The facial was very rewarding, and their products fabulous. After the facial, my skin looked great!!! Nice touch - I didn't feel the pressure to buy their products, they were delicately recommended...Thank you!!! Pros: easy appointments, personable staff, Atmosphere more

Atlanta's Best Kept Secret! Medical esthetician 8/19/2005

Spa Sydell has the best esthetician in the industry tucked away at the Forum. To my surprise this esthetician has experience with plastic surgeons, and Microdermabrasion and peels were amazingly CHEAP I have had facials and spa services all over the world. I've had cosmetic procedures and treatments from the best plastic surgeons offices, but nothing compared to the expertise, experience, knowlege and the surprise of being pleased beyond all expectations. Karen has the most incredible european ""spa"" touch, blended in with expert medical spa services. She knows her stuff, and it shows! Two Thumbs Up for Spa Sydell at the Forum. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, very affordable, incredible talent more

Unbelievable!!! 3/8/2005

I have been to many spas all over the world and had the chance to visit Spa Sydell last month in Norcross. I had a massage with Dominique, who was highly professional and thorough. I have to say it was the most enjoyable and unbelievable experience I've ever had. I'm so glad I now live so close to the Spa that I can visit her on a regular basis. Pros: Professionalism, Ambience, Location more
