Great Service 3/4/2012

Had a day at Spa Sydell...massage with Sheldon , facial with Jennifer, pedicure with Hung. Any time you want a relaxing day this is a great way to get it. Very very therapuetic massage and skin felt and looked great after facial! more

Love it! 2/29/2012

I get A LOT of work done. Sheldon is normally my go to guy for massage. If you need deep tissue, he delivers. When he has not been available, I have used some of the other therapists. Phil is fantastic with necks. I was working on a massive migraine and walked out pain free. Meredith, Spencer, and Sharon are all great at bringing on the relaxation. Other services I have received here are provided by wonderful, professional technicians. Hung gives a pedicure that is SO relaxing. Tanya gave me a facial that made me stagger like a drunk woman. Having a massage, facial, and pedicure all in one day was blissful. On a more personal note...Goli and Liping can wax ANYTHING and make it quick and as painless as ripping hair from the root can possibly be. Everyone is as pleasant and accommodating as possible, even though I was late. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience more

A fun place to visit 2/29/2012

This was a present from my family to me. I had a facial, and it was wonderful. I enjoyed this experience. Then I had a pedicure and I will definately go back on my next visit to Georgia. I met the owner, a very gracious and beautiful woman, which I expect to see in movies one day. I recomend this highly. more

Rude Director 10/18/2011

I recently visited Spa Sydell on a business trip. Went there to relax and forget about the meetings I will be attending the next two days. When you walk through the doors you are thinking i can't wait to relax. It was the opposite. People kept trying to sell me more services/products. They were over charging me on my service. I was being treated like they were doing me a favor for being there. The girl was not friendly at all. To make things worst the cashier was the DIRECTOR of the spa.....rude. Need a lesson in Customer First. What to make sure others don't make the same mistake i made and go to Spa Sydell. more

Prenatal Massage 6/14/2011

I recently visited Spa Sydell for a prenatel massage and oxygen facial. Charles is my go to guy for massages. He did a wonderful job ensuring that I was comfortable during the entire massage. This was my first prenatal massage with him and once again he delivered! \r My facial was equally as relaxing and rejuvenating! The facial tech let me know what products were available for my skin type. I was very appreciative of her knowledge and happy to know they had product available to me but in no way felt pressured or badgered during my treatment! \r Once again Spa Sydell made my day of pampering wonderful. I will be back next month!! more

Fantastic Mother Day Gift 5/19/2011

Beautiful spa, gorgeous wall to wall water falls. I was offered fresh water with oranges during my check in and hot tea. I was then given a robe and transitioned to the waiting area. It was dim, relaxing, soft music in the back ground and you could hear the water fall from the hallway. WOW! This is not your corner day spa. I got a signature facial, it included a peel and a collagen blanket, not to mention a hand treatment head massage, foot massage OMG. Absolutely amazing! I will be returning... Caroline is the absolute best. Then I proceeded to my honeysuckle massage, not only did I feel great, I smelled wonderful to. I normally like to shower after my massage but, I did not want to lose the honeysuckle scent from my skin. I don't know how it was before, but I can tell you, I found nothing negative at this spa. more

OK service, annoying sales. 2/17/2011

I was in recently for a massage and facial. The actual massage and facial were great, but the people kept trying to sell me more services or products any chance they could. I go to a spa to relax. It's not relaxing to have someone pressuring you to buy more, more, more. more

F- Customer Service 1/1/2011

After my massage (which was fine) as I was checking out, the staff person at the desk was unable to locate a gift certificate in their system that I had received for my birthday, based on the code numbers that were hand written on the back of the certificate by whomever sold the certficate to my in-laws.\r \r They asked for the name of the person who purchased it, which I gave them. They asked for phone numbers, which I also provided. \r \r They proceeded to spend approximately 20 minutes trying to ""locate it in their system"" while I waited. After 20 minutes, I had to leave and told them that was the case. They said they were sorry, but they were still ""researching"" the gift certificate and that it would take a few more minutes. I explained that I had already waited 20 minutes and could wait no longer. They stared at me blankly and offered no alternative solution or accomodation to what was clearly THEIR book keeping problem, not my problem. At that point, I should have just walked out.\r \r I happened to have a one hour massage credit on my account that I had pre-paid for months ago. Since they were making no accomodation for the situation and I could wait no longer, I told them to use the credit on my account to pay for the massage while they ""researched"" their book keeping problem so that I would be able to redeem my gift certificate another time. They explained that perhaps the gift certificate was purchased at a time when their system was down, which is why it wasn't showing up and it would take some time to locate it so that I could redeem it. They kept the certificate so they could ""research"" it and said they would call me at my home number (which they verified they correctly had on my account) to let me know the outcome. As of today, two days later, I have heard not a word from them.\r \r This is the most inept customer service I've experienced in recent memory. Needless to say, my horrendous experience checking out completely negated the relaxing massage I had just received. Clearly, they have lost a customer. more

Loved The Forum 12/6/2010

My husband and I recently went there for a anniversary gift to ourselves and we had a great experience. The massage therapist I used really knew what she was doing and spent extra time working on a neck and shoulder issue I've been having. I think her name was Susan, but to be honest, I was kind of in a relaxed daze afterward, so I'm not sure. I like the forum over their other locations because it just seems a little bigger than the old duluth location and the buckhead location. Normally, my experiences with Spa Sydell have been questionable, but this time, they hit the mark!! more

I worked there and I say it's horrible 11/5/2010

Spa Sydell is dishonest and unprofessional all the way to the top. They are corrupt. They withhold there employees checks and make unreasonable goals that hurt our clients as much as us. every employe is suppose to make 30 phone calls a day 50 people wrk there. we call the same person 3 to 5 times a week. I they can't treat there employees right than you can't get a good experience. Save your money. Don't go! more

Dirty Nail Spa 9/27/2010

I recently used a $50 gift certificate to get a pedicure. Spa Sydell at the Forum was very dirty with nails all over the pedicure area floor. My pedicure was one of the shortest ones I've ever received also. It was 30 minutes long.......7 days later my polish started chipping off probably because they thin out their nail polish. I was really looking forward to this pedicure because of the price, but will never go back for any manicure or pedicure service. I was happy with my last massage, though. more

Don't Use This Spa! 3/15/2010

I stopped using this spa, though located just a few blocks away from home because of their policy to void gift certificates after one year. I lost the ability to use a $300.00 gift certificate. I believe they have changed this policy recently to devalue gift certificates after one year and charge a fee to ""reinstate"" them. Sunday I gave them another try as my 19-year old daughter was advised by a doctor to have a gentle massage following an automobile accident to loosen sore muscles. She had a doctors orders to do so. I called Spa Sydell and explained the whole circumstance before booking a late afternoon appt. We arrived, signed in, explained the whole circumstance again and were taken upstairs. My daughter put her robe on and was met by the masseuse, who I also explained the situation to , and showed her the doctors orders. She put my daughter on the massage table and I left. I returned home to find my daughter back home 20 minutes later. The masseuse had refused to massage her, believing she knew better than the doctor, and offered her a facial--at full cost--instead! When she declined, they told her she had to leave. She returned home sore and angry, and at 5 pm, there was no time for her to go anywhere else as she had to return to college that night. They knew our circumstance before I ever made the appointment and they wasted my daughter's whole day, as she would have booked an appointment elsewhere if they had just told us from the start that they didn't want to massage someone who had been in an accident. I called the manager who offered no apology or anyway to make it up to us--wouldn't even get me a copy of the voided credit card charge, as I had prepaid $90.00! I have to go back there today to get a copy. It will be the last time I set foot in that spa. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Rude treatment with no regard for the customer more

Caroline at The Forum 12/7/2009

This woman is phenomenal. I don't know when I have ever had such a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. She makes your skin feel like velvet, and she just knows how to relax every part of a person's being, body and mind. She has a quiet, soft manner and is a great listener as well. I cannot think of anyone whom I would recommend more for a facial and overall body relaxing experience than Caroline! Pros: Best Facial in Atlanta more

Good Location/Good Spa 9/22/2009

A Wonderful Experience for a low maintenance gal 6/27/2009

My family wanted to give me a special treat for Mother's Day so they surprised me with a full hour massage at Spa Sydell. I happen to work in the area of The Forum so I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I was totally shocked that I really do like to be pampered and the deep muscle massage was fantastic.\r \r My family was delighted that I enjoyed it so much so I know they will encourage me to continue to give myself some more pampering. I have a stressful job and this\r was just what I needed to get some of the tension released. \r \r The staff at the Forum was extremely warm and friendly and made me feel relaxed since it was my first time and I was a bit nervous.\r \r I can't wait to go again. Pros: Unexpected pleasure for a low maintenance woman more

A Delightful Experience 6/26/2009

I was delighted when I received a gift for mother's day and I chose the Forum location because of the good things I had heard from friends. Plus it is in a really nice area.\r \r My dermabrasion treatment was the best I have every had and I can't wait to try some of their other services.\r \r I told my family from now on...give me gift certificates for Spa Sydell so I can enjoy some of their other services. Next on my list is a facial and massage\r \r The staff at the Forum location were wonderful and were extremely accomodating and made me very comfortable. Pros: Best dermabrasion I have ever had more

If You Want to be treated like Royalty 6/25/2009

From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by a friendly receptionist who greets you and makes you feel welcome.\r \r The atmosphere soothes you the minute you go upstairs to get your service. It has an elegant setting and you are taken for your service on time. The director, Maggie, will do anything to make sure that a client is happy and satisfied. She follows up and does so many extra things. My technician is Mariah. She is awesome. I have had several services there but I basically go every two to two and a half weeks for spray tanning. Mariah explains everything as she applies the spray tan, and makes sure you understand how to maintain the tan. She always has a smile and makes the session fun.\r \r Spray tanning has a product called Tan Extender. They were out for several weeks and Maggie did everything possible to get it as fast as she could. The minute the product arrived she gave me a call.\r \r I wouldn't go anywhere else, even if they offered their services for free. The Spa Sydell at the Forum is a heavenly experience. It is also in a wonderful shopping center so after, or before, your scheduled service time,\r you can walk around and enjoy the beautiful area. \r \r Give them a call and make an appointment, whether it is for a massage, facial, spray tanning, manicure or pedicures. I promise it is an experience you will want to continue for future services.\r \r Pros: They go over and beyond in making their clients feel special Cons: There are no drawbacks more

New Owners 3/4/2009

Spa Sydell has been sold to IN SPA which is located in Washington state . They are a lower end spa, kind of like massage envy. Word is they will not accept gift certificates bought under the name of SPA SYDELL . Not sure what the new name of the company will be or what other changes are to come. Ladies and gentlemen use your gift certificates as soon as possible. more

Forum location if Spa Sydell in Norcross 12/17/2008

Very poor experience at this location. We had 2 gift certificates with well over the amount needed for 2 massages (the massages are pleasant at best, nothing worth what they are charging) yet the female at the checkout was LOUDLY exclaiming that i owed X amount. l said there's a mistake, l don't owe anything. After a few minutes of this she finally got the info from downstairs that we were covered, she never uttered ""sorry"" or anything, l looked around and got a few items to get rid of the rest of the credit and THEN she starts spouting off some lines like a robot about me buying a package. l was so disgusted that l would NOT ever go back to that location. l emailed Spa Sydell the next day about how unprofessionally that was treated by miss thing wearing her ""spoiled"" charm necklace, they never even responded. l would say only go here if it is a gift cert situation, do not pay for anything. Even then they try to limit the times you can use certain certificates. This was last winter before Christmas when they were pimping their pomegranate facial, l won't get a facial there , did that once and was told that l had a LOT of hair on my lip as the lady smeared the exfolliant IN my mouth-and l was spitting for about an hour afterwards-Gwinnett Mall area location. Be careful, these people are generally unprofessional. Pros: Hours Cons: Rude statt more

Solid Service Every Time 9/18/2008

I work at The Forum, so going to this Spa Sydell location is convenient for me. I only use the waxing service, so I can't speak to the changing area or bathrooms. However, I adore Caroline. I've been going to her for about a year now and she's amazing. She's always pleasant conversation and never tries to sell me anything. She gets me in and out quickly, which I like.\r \r I find the waiting and reception areas to be perfectly acceptable. Frankly, spa music drives me nuts, so the less time I have to spend listening to it, the better. Maybe some people like it? I don't find it relaxing in the least. While they do try to sell me services at the desk, they're up front about their prices and the fact that packages are a better deal than gift certificates. I can only assume that other reviewers have much higher expectations for a spa than I do. Of course, knowing the customers I have to work with a few doors down, it doesn't surprise me how snippy some reviews are. Pros: Caroline! Cons: The music can get on my nerves more
