After my massage (which was fine) as I was checking out, the staff person at the desk was unable to locate a gift certificate in their system that I had received for my birthday, based on the code numbers that were hand written on the back of the certificate by whomever sold the certficate to my in-laws.\r \r They asked for the name of the person who purchased it, which I gave them. They asked for phone numbers, which I also provided. \r \r They proceeded to spend approximately 20 minutes trying to ""locate it in their system"" while I waited. After 20 minutes, I had to leave and told them that was the case. They said they were sorry, but they were still ""researching"" the gift certificate and that it would take a few more minutes. I explained that I had already waited 20 minutes and could wait no longer. They stared at me blankly and offered no alternative solution or accomodation to what was clearly THEIR book keeping problem, not my problem. At that point, I should have just walked out.\r \r I happened to have a one hour massage credit on my account that I had pre-paid for months ago. Since they were making no accomodation for the situation and I could wait no longer, I told them to use the credit on my account to pay for the massage while they ""researched"" their book keeping problem so that I would be able to redeem my gift certificate another time. They explained that perhaps the gift certificate was purchased at a time when their system was down, which is why it wasn't showing up and it would take some time to locate it so that I could redeem it. They kept the certificate so they could ""research"" it and said they would call me at my home number (which they verified they correctly had on my account) to let me know the outcome. As of today, two days later, I have heard not a word from them.\r \r This is the most inept customer service I've experienced in recent memory. Needless to say, my horrendous experience checking out completely negated the relaxing massage I had just received. Clearly, they have lost a customer.
