Solvit bought the plumbing company we used to use. We used Solvit once and found them very expensive so we switched to another plumber. But last week our plumber was tied up so we called Solvit again. We had no hot water in our shower, and the plumber who came out told us we needed a new Moen cartridge at nearly $400! I looked the cartridge up online and saw that I could buy it for under $20. The plumber said that Solvit didn't allow him to lower his price. I had to pay Solvit the $69 feee for coming out, then bought the cartridge on my own. My own plumber came and installed it later.
All this was bad enough, but here are my two biggest issues: 1) both the plumbing supply house and my plumber told me that Moen cartridges have a lifetime guarantee. I was able to bring in my defective cartridge and get my $20 back! Solvit was charging me $400 for something I should have gotten for free!
2) After my own plumber installed the new cartridge, we discovered that it didn't solve the problem. My plumber assumed that we were installing a new cartridge because we had a leak. When I told him that we had no hot water, he said that a cartridge shouldn't affect that. It turned out to be a simple problem with the pressure balance cylinder that the plumber was able to fix without any new parts.

First we are happy that your plumber who was originally unavailable or tied up showed after the fact to complete the work you felt was too expensive for same day service provided by us. I cant speak to the cartridge being the problem or not as perhaps it was a compound issue or possibly a miss diagnosis on our technicians part, all which would be noticed as such. Im also trusting your statement as being true. This aside, we have offered and will return our service fee to you in the amount of $69.00 as our policy with over 20,000 service calls completed yearly is 100 customer satisfaction.
We contacted you and conveyed this and your reply was You have made me happy by returning the $69.00 but I will not remove my review. We feel good that we did our part and that you are happy as well.
In closing, we often find customers call us stating my plumber could not be reached as they are typically a man in a van, often un licensed, un insured and the like only for the same customer to switch to us permanently as we saved their house from flooding and the like. All our employees are background checked, drug tested, uniformed and hold the appropriate trade licenses and are bonded and insured. We not only offer 100 customer satisfaction to our customers but offer available life time warranties for as long as you own the home. Therefore our pricing includes all of the above. We cannot offer pricing as you indicate based on the above to include same day service and 365/24/7 availability.
For all those customers who cannot reach their plumber, especially on a holiday, weekend or middle of the night besides our standard same day service, we welcome their business and understanding of what it costs to run such a service.
