Bo Setlur 5/25/2012

I came in weeks ago with a disaster on top of my head..After being a brunette for years I had decided to get some highlights in preparation for the summer which turned out to be a mistake. I called in Sit Still in hope someone could fix my hair before I returned to class.. I asked for a color expert and they referred me Bo Setlur.. I came in and immediately upon meeting Bo, I was excited! She took the time to understand the look I was going for and we both looked at pictures on her iPhone to make sure we were on the same page. What I was looking for was the soft ombre look and it is exactly what I got. My hair was damaged when I came in so she used a cream bleach instead, cut my ends and give me a whole new look.. While we were waiting for the color, we chatted about travels and different countries and I was very comfortable waiting... My hair turned SOOOOO BEAUTIFULLY !!!!!! I was so excited and so happy !!! She saved my hair and my morale that day! It also looked so healthy that no one could ever find out I had a bleach disaster the day before... She also took some pictures because she was also delighted of the results. !!! I will definitely keep coming back and I am very grateful to have found a hair dresser in Los Angeles. Want the natural, ombre, balayage look? See Jason! 5/21/2012

I was in desperate need of getting something done about my regrowth and wanted to go somewhere close to home. After researching salons in my area I called Sit Still to get an appointment that morning. I was in luck! 2 hours later I rolled up to the salon and was greeted by Jason soon after. I've been getting a half head of highlights for a few years and go crazy when they grow out. My hair is super long and thick but I've been wanting a more natural look without entirely losing my blonde. Jason totally got what I was trying to achieve and worked with me in really cutting into my hair the way that I wanted and then toning down the blonde without entirely losing it. Briefly, Jason first dry cut my hair and then painted on a lighter brown color to extend the regrowth into the length leaving the blonde ends. This now made my hair look more 'sunkist' opposed to that embarrassing grown-out two tone look. He totally nailed ombre/balayage without it obviously being that. My hair looks more natural dirty/beach blonde than colors fading into one one another. I absolutely loved what Jason did for me. I had been to two stylists before him over the past year to obtain this style and they both insisted I stick with blonde highlights and foils. Never again! Not only did Jason's star styling here rock my world but so did the price. If you've never been here before you will get a super deal. I highly recommend this salon!!! more

Love this salon! 2/10/2012

I have been going to Sit Still for two years now and its the longest I have ever stayed with a salon! I come here for trims and Jen is amazing. I have been to many high end and overpriced salons, but Sit Still is by far the best and it is also affordable. I have really long hair and I always get nervous when I go to salons because I have had so many bad experiences. I am usually afraid that someone is going to chop all my hair off or give me a style I don't like. Jen always makes sure that I get what I want and makes my hair look great. I would recommend this salon to anyone! more

Great Place! Everyone really knows hair. If you're looking for color, they are absolutely the best. It's comforting to know you can still get great service for great prices. Very easy to find, right on Main Street/Rose Ave. You'll never want to go anywhere else. more

jumping up & down for sit still salon!!! 11/8/2011

had an unfortunate bang incident a while back... the stylist started the cut by chopping my bangs in half (NOT what i wanted!) i went to zac at sit still salon practically in tears - and he saved the day!!! actually got the bangs looking good for the growing out phase. i've been a devotee ever since!!! have worked with a couple of the stylists there - each really good, with their own style & set of skills. but zac's my guy! latest feat - giving me a change-up on my go-to hairstyle with a couple swoops of a razor. a whole new - yet not new - thang! brilliant! great ambience. welcoming staff. and ideal location! big thumbs up for sit still salon!!! more

I love the way Zac at Sit Still cuts my hair! A friend of mine first recommended him, saying he was ""the only stylist who knows what to do with my hair"". I feel the same way -- he takes my fine hair, prone to be limp and boring, and cuts it to be flattering, interesting, and just the right amount of sexy. He's the best stylist I've ever had! And their Celtic Creme product is awesome for adding definition and softness to my loose curls. more

Coppola Keratin Treatment - UGH! 5/29/2011

I initially went in wanting a Brazil Blow-out and they said they offer something better - the Coppola Keratin Complex treatment. They did tell me that I should not wash my hair for 3 days after the treatment. What they did NOT warn me about is that after they add the chemicals to my hair and use the flat iron, my hair would feel like I had not wash in for 3 months and look like a total grease pit. How on earth could I go anywhere with my new greasy head of hair, let alone NOT wash it for 3 days? The first thing I did when I got home was wash it twice. $200 plus tip out the door. Just know what you are getting into before you do the service. I'm sure it is a great service for someone who has time to have greasy hair for 3 days straight. I have a job and cannot have greasy hair for 3 days. So this was a learning experience for me. The owner of the salon and person who made the appointment need to be more honest about what the client is going to experience up front. Had they told me I would leave the salon with greasy hair that smelled burnt and felt totally greasy, I would have passed. Lesson learned. more

Exactly what I wanted 3/25/2011

Recently I had a couple hours to kill in Venice and I decided to check out Sit Still for a cut and color. They were packed, but fortunately I ended up getting my hair done by a rad lady named Laura. I'm kinda fussy when it comes to my hair and she was really attentive to my needs and specifications. I found her demeanor to be quite pleasant and most importantly she made me look awesome. Overall I would highly recommend this salon if you are looking for a chill and quality experience. more

Called in to see if I could get a quick cut as the wife raved on about this place. She is british and and fussy with her hair. I walked in and they were able to squeeze me in straight away, I was offered a drink and my stylist was chatty and friendly. Got a nice cut and a good head massage which was nice as not many places bother with that stuff anymore. I am pleased with my haircut appreciated them squeezing me in at the last minute despite being busy. overall- great place. more

Finally! a salon that can cut my hair just the way I like it! I don't usually write reviews but I am over the moon with my cut and color. I can't stand flat hair and orange toned reds, I have a cool skin tone but love to have red hair so it has to be just right. A lovely girl called Jennifer gave me this beautiful shiny wine red shade that compliments my skin tone perfectly. She listened intently and gave me exactly what I wanted, a few choppy layers and sweeping bangs and va va voom volume!! The place is bright and clean, nice espressos and more than reasonable pricing.. it cost a lot less than i expected it to.. I was more than pleasantly surprised! :D more

LOVE THIS PLACE! 3/25/2011

I love this salon, I have been coming here for just under a year and I keep coming back for good reason, Zac rocks!! I have naturally very wirey unmanagable hair (worsened by the water here) And I have been transformed from medusa in a goddess! I usually have my hair cut in to a sleek bob and zacs technique leaves it very textured at the ends and smooth. He recently introduced me to coppola treatements and WOW! my hair has never looked this good. The atmosphere is great, and the staff make you feel at home. There's always a hot fresh expresso waiting for me when I arrive and some good girly mags to thumb through. I live in venice so its just a walk around the corner. more

Laura Razcka is the best stylist in LA 3/25/2011

So I'm a photographer, I had a big job I was working on in Venice and last minute my hairstylist cancelled, I had a dead line and needed this to look amazing. I decided to send my Model to Sit Still Salon and the Stylist to save the day was Laura Razcka. she was fast and in fact did a far better job on my Models hair and makeup than I believe the girl I had previously hired could ever do . from now on whenever I have a job to do this will be the salon and Laura will be the stylist :) I highly recommend them more

I went to this salon last Saturday for the first time. My stylist was SARAH she was FANTASTIC I went In for the $130 Highlite HC special and after talking about my fizzy hair she suggested the COPALLA, Glad she did its changed my mornings :) GREAT SALON, GREAT STYLIST, GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!!! more

The place to go for professional input on your cut! 3/25/2011

Everytime I'm in Venice an apointment with Sarah is a MUST! She does such a great job. She is always able to offer me fresh ideas for new do's to fit my style and personality, it's like a mini makeover everytime! \r \r I wish I lived closer and could go there for every cut. It's so frustrating to spend my money and time in the chair to come out looking the same as I did when I went in minus a quarter inch of length. Sarah has never done that to me & I love it! I can trust her to mix things up for me and give me options of what will work for me. more

Watch Out!!!!!!!Razored my long beautiful hair!!!!!! 3/19/2011

I have been going to Sit Still for a few years. In fact I was out of work and Zac (the owner) was nice enough to give me a lower price for a long time. I did come in often for color and a trim. Last week I decided to let Sarah (who has been my hair cutter) layer my hair a little more than a trim. I have always been generous to Sarah and brought in clothes, shoes, etc... go out of my way because I felt a closeness to her and the salon for helping me. Well, you have to watch closely sometimes because things can go wrong. Sarah did not layer my long beautiful hair she butchered it with a razor. I have barely stopped crying. I am debating getting extensions after already spending $700 to fix the fuzzy cotton candy looking ends. I can say in my whole life no one as ever done anything so reckless to my hair. Sarah should not cut long hair except a mindless trim and razors after some data from other salons they are not readily used and a complete no no on my kind of hair. I am broken hearted as my hair gave me a strong identity. I still have a stomach ache and cannot sleep. more
