Best Hot Pot 10/25/2010

This place is the best!! The service is always great, even when they are packed (and they always are), they have enough staff that you never feel like they forgot about you. The food is down right amazing and this is the best Hot Pot I have ever had, and I have sampled most of what Seattle has to offer. This is our favorite place to eat. Its simple reasonably priced and great food and service - what more can you ask for! For a great dinner ask the server to pick you a meal - you will get to try some delicious food that you may not have ordered your self - if I could give this place 10 stars I would!! more

Sichuanese Cuisine 4/7/2010

Whether it's lunch or dinner, this restaurant is always busy. Look around and you will see every nationality in the area well represented. What draws such a diverse crowd?..... The food, the mouth watering, spicy, authentic, delicious food. My favorite item on the menu is the hot beef chow mein with the toothy handmade noodles stir fried with a spicy sauce, liberally sprinkled with garlic, chilis, cilantro and tender succulent beef. I also love the steamed dumplings and the green beans. The hot pot is a fun experience for a family or a group of friends. Pros: Excellent food Cons: lacks much ambiance more

Horrible Service, Average food and get discriminated!!! 8/19/2008

So what happened was we were in line for a table on Tuesday the 19th of August and there was one american group infront of us and they asked if there was a party of 2 when the table was for 3 people since it had 3 chairs and took in a chinese couple before us even though we were before them and then behind us was another chinese couple who talked to the waiter in chinese and she literally just cut us is line as the waiter seated her at a table!! i was shocked since we had been waiting for a half an hour and they take the people behind us!! And discrimination my gooodnesss. I would never go there again if my life depened on it due to all the disrimination I gottt!! So it's not like their food is extraordinarly amazing that you should suffer through this discrimination just for food! I mean for heavans sake your paying for it!rude staff!!!- Act like they didn't see you! Pros: Food is average!! yeaa Cons: Horrible service :/ baddd trust me more

best chinese food available. period. 4/7/2008

Sichuanese Cuisine has become a staple for my friends and I since we were introduced to it about 3 years ago, and we go as often as we can now. It's best to order family style and share with everyone, because there are so many fantastic dishes, each bringing their own incredible flavor. The standards for us are: Pros: Spicy food, personable service Cons: gets busy, helps to call ahead when possible more

MY FAVORITE!! 8/3/2007

I usually don't eat so spicy, but this food is definitely worth the pain. It is so delicious, fresh, tasty, and has a homemade feel. I'm not Chinese, and my family is often the only white table, but I would recommend it for anyone of course. The dumplings are a must, the garlic chicken, moo shu, kung pao, mandarin spicy chicken, eggplant, and special hot beef chow mien are some of my favorites. This is the kind of restaurant you become loyal to pretty quickly. It's become comfort food for us.The prices are very good for the large portions. The service is authentic also, in that they don't really check on you and you have to flag people down when you want something. I personally don't mind this, since I think the American custom of interrupting people when they are chewing is atrocious. And the food is worth it!! more

Genuine Chinese Food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/19/2006

I am a Sichuanese and come to US in 2006! I reallly like the food there. You can find many genuine chinese foods there, $12-15 is enough for one person, even $ 8 is enough for noodles or something alike. Highly recommended, especially for Chinese. Pros: Foods!!! taste really good more

Best Sichuan food in N. America!! 9/21/2006

If you have been to Sichuan and loved the food, you will know that this is the real deal, and you have found a way to satisfy that craving without traveling half-way around the world. It is NOT Americanized so expect very pungent chillis, numbing sichuan peppercorns, lip puckering pickled peppers and other very strong characteristic flavors. My Chinese husband and I have eaten in Sichuan restaurants in many cities in the US and Canada, and this one outshines anything in North America and compares with the best in China, for home-style Sichuanese cooking. Yes, it's crowded, loud, hot in the summer, and lacking dim lights and candles, but so what! The crowds of Chinese who flock here do so for good reason. Pros: The food!! The FOOD!! THE FOOD!! Cons: Can be crowded. Service can be slow when crowded, but staff is always nice. more

Good food, but has too much oil 8/15/2006

The food in Sichuanese is great. The restaurant services is fast and excellent. The food is great, however if you are conscious about the oil content - avoid this place. I've heard that more

Simply the best Sichuan food in Seattle/Bellevue. 4/1/2006

My Chinese wife and I have been eating at Sichuanese Cuisine, both here and the one in Seattle since 1996. It is still the best. This is the real China. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Anyone who does not agree does not know what good Sichuanese food is. Maybe you should try China First. Pros: Food, Prices, Service Cons: Too Popular, Have to wait sometime more

Great food, great prices, great service 3/29/2006

For an incredible experience, go on a cold weekend day during the winter and observe what people are eating. Order that. It is called ""hot-pot,"" and is served for two or more. 1/2 spicy broth, 1/2 clear broth. You cook the raw meat, tofu, cabbage and noodles, and mix this with a dab of peanut sauce, or (if you are brave) a dollop of chilis soaked in oil. This is my most favorite meal in the world. If you order it during the summer, they will make it, but you may get a little finger-wagging (if they know you), since this contradicts tradition. Pros: authentic, inexpensive, delicious more

Awesome - I have lunch here once a week 11/15/2005

I started going to this place because a coworker would bring a plate of extra spicy scichuanese chicken and had me drooling. My wife and I visit this place often and usually have the yummy thing my coworker had (which yes is quite oily) or the sesame chicken. The place seems to be run by a family, the prices are quite good. You gotta try it! Pros: awesome food, authentic, friendly service Cons: some dishes are oily more

Cheap chinese food with kick... 10/14/2005

The food is greasy, authentic, and great. This was my first experience at an authentic Sichuanese restaurant and it quickly became one of my favorite eateries. (Don't forget to order their dried cooked pork with tofu and fish in black bean sauce.) Their ""special"" spicy dishes seem to be swimming in chili oil so if you can't handle heat stick to their more mild dishes. Unfortunately (or fortunately), other people have discovered this food gem and it gets really crowded during dinner and lunch rushes. The service suffers due to large volume of customers and small service staff. Be prepared to wait getting refills on water and other amenities during busy moments. Pros: Inexpensive, Flavorful Food Cons: Busy, Clothes will smell more
