I got $35 back from my $300 deposit with no explanation. I laughed when I received, (didn’t respond to), their survey request, and now I understand why they sent that request to me. According to multiple posts, they allegedly blackmail people into a nice review for $$$ that is due to tenants. So I filed in small claims court and got a letter from heir lawyer, saying they’ll consider addl documents filed, possibly at my cost, if I don’t drop my “frivolous” claim against Amy. more

They will effectively go to ANY lengths even holding your deposit hostage in order to black mail you into changing your bad review into good. A warning to all tenants. They will never be more responsive then three minutes after leaving a bad review. Have a leak? They will call in an hour. Leave a bad review? They will call in seconds. The reason reviews are good is because they are coercing people into changing them and now that we are safely away I will be honest. They claimed they were holding nearly a thousand dollars after they LEGALLY owed it back because of ONE tiny mess. Luckily we photographed everything and I encourage you all to call HOMELINe they have FREE lawyers who will help you file against this company if you need. My lawyer has recorded phone calls of Amy asking me to change my review if she gave me my check back. Even calling again saying she didn't see my review changed. That is COERCION and it is ILLEGAL. If the other paid reviews are true than they offer varied service depending on their opinion of you because when I called about a leak PAM treated me like acum she could barely stand being on the phone with and even hung up on me. The office staff (minus billing she was very kind) hates poor people and IS discriminatory. If you can live anywhere else don't rent here. We found somewhere so much better. Also their laundry machines will add $4 each time and they will not refund you. Every other Google review I have left is positive so know it's not out of anger, I have moved a lot in mg life and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had (and I remained calm cool and collected so they didn't treat me this way because I treated them that way) more

Lately they have changed quite a bit. They got rid of our on site manager. They want everyone to start paying by giving them direct access to our account, and when I asked about it, they were very rude. They had a box where we could put our checks, now we have to send them to the office, which means I have to send my check at least two days earlier then I should. Now they don't want to accept personal checks after the second of the month, which is in violation of my lease, and most others, as it states that they will accept checks. Now they say if a personal check gets there after the second of the month, they won't accept it, so you have to cancel the check, and pay in some other way, although they won't accept cash either. Hope the mail is never late, and they don't overlook a check, or else they won't be getting paid. I had no idea that a company would refuse to take payment. I have heard people who have given them access to the account have had problems with funds being withdrawn too soon. So I am not sure what to do. more

I have lived in two different apartments through Sela Investments, over the last 5 years. The attention to cleanliness of the properties is outstanding. The customer service I receive when calling the Sela Investments offices continues to be superior. I find their employees to be caring, prompt and professional. Amy Gonyea, the manager, is always hands on and personally involved in continuing to make sure that her residents are happy. She follows up with the residents after issues to make sure the resolution was to your standards and often goes above and beyond to ensure your expectations are exceeded. I can not begin to that Sela Investments and Amy Gonyea enough for providing me a safe, comfortable, clean, well maintained place to live and call home. Thank you, Jennifer S more
