Editorial review from Citysearch 8/9/2013

Doctors, \r \r Your staffs are AWFUL, particularly the Spanish woman worked at the insurance desk named ""Africa?"" is extremely mean, rude and irresponsible and likes abusing her little power and very counterproductive. The way she communicates with patients are really annoying and makes any normal patients really want to shut her up. I don't understand, why would you create troubles for your customers, unless you really hate your job. She needs to be fired before her style affecting other girls in the team. The one good is Patty, the manager. She is warm and helpful. Unfortunately she is not around all the time. Without her there, the service becomes horrendous. The rest of the staff team needs to be trained as well. When I called in, they always communicated half information and misled patients. Like me I had to go back and forth and multiple phone calls to deal a small thing which only needs 5 minutes to resolve. So difficult to have them be even a bit patient-friendly and efficient. Broken operation and Really Sad!!!\r \r Good bye, doctor! I will NEVER visit again in my life time! I HATE the experience so much that I want to tell the world to avoid this Dr. office as possible as they can. But to be fair I feel I should tell you about that first. more

BE WARNED IF YOURE ARE GETTING MATERIAL HERE. 5/7/2012

If you're just going to an eye exam, the doctors are great. However, if you're going to be getting material from them, you should think twice. The Optician there name Ira is NOT unfriendly, unhelpful, and a total bullsh*t artist. The first time I was there, he showed me 3 trays of old, ugly, and cheap quality frames. He said to me these were the only ones that my insurance will cover. I thought that sounded a little strange but since I didn't know what my insurance covered I just went along and selected a pair anyways. Few hours later, I went home, checked my benefits online. It stated that I have $70 allowance towards ANY frame on the market today. So I called the doctor's office and asked them why they only offered me the 3 trays of old frames. Ira comes on the phone and says ""OH, i see that now, but you know your insurance don't cover a lot of the frames. If the lab doesn't have it, they're not covered."" Unhappy and still confused about his answer I told him that I would be back on Monday to re-select. So I take a few hours from work to go back on Monday. Ira shows up and he tells me to pick out any frame that I want. I picked a pair that I actually liked. WOOD U Brand Model 703. He takes them to the back and comes back out in a few minutes. He goes ""I just called your insurance and they said they won't cover it because they don't have them and i would need to order them from my supplier."" So I said that's not right because my insurance says they'll cover ANY frame on the market. And he goes ""Yea but you didn't read the fine print"". I said there isn't any.... I asked him if he can show me ones my insurance does cover. He points over to these cheesy Guess and Sketcher frames. Confused again, I selected the Sketcher frames. At this point, I know asking them to call my insurance was not going to work. Was just going to give up trying to make sense to any of this. So I left for work. On the train, rethinking about the situation. This man is totally dicking me around. After I got off the train, I phoned my insurance company and explained the whole situation. They immediately apologized that I've been mistreated by one of their providers. And they're not sure why this optician refuses to apply my in network coverage on those Wood U frames. Even if the lab doesn't have, the insurance would pay for it if the optician ordered it through their supplier. I asked them if there's anyway I can report this Optician. Hes obviously out to rip me off. They told me that they will open a ticket for me to have this Optician investigated. I can also call back in a few days to see what the outcome is. I was also told that I can call the doctor's office, stop the production on my glasses, get my material co-payment and difference back and go somewhere else. So I will be going back to get my money and my prescription. Taking my business else where. I know I sound like an idiot but the guy was misleading me right from the get go. I'm just glad that I reported them to my insurance. I will be leaving this review everywhere. BE WARNED! DO NOT GO! IF YOU DO, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH YOUR BENEFITS AND KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE GETTING. more

As a business, how do they survive? 8/29/2011

OMG. You know something is wrong when you go to the counter for the first time and there's a sign that says "" Do not talk to the insurance rep."" \r NICE! They're scolding you in writing. \r Even the guy who's showing you the glasses is a condescending prick. more

Not clear, and not prone to explain things... 4/24/2010

I went today to get a prescription for contact lenses. My insurance covers one annual routine exam, so I paid the $15 co-payment as they said, and sat down in the very crowded waiting room. After waiting for about an hour, the doctor called me in. He was great. Once I came out and another woman was meant to tell me about the options for getting contact lenses, she told me that I had to pay $50 more for the ""contact lens fitting"". When I told her that nobody had told me that, and that I just wanted a routinary exam, she refused to give me a prescription for contact lenses and gave me for eyeglasses instead. Does a prescription for contact lenses really cost $50 apart from my co-payment and insurance??? Unbelievable... Pros: Doctors seem very good Cons: The rest of staff are not very friendly, and sneaky more

Great if Buying Full Frames and Lenses or Contacts. but.... 12/22/2007

If you want your lenses replaced in your favorite frames you are in for a story and excuses, you will need to sign a release. Don't even try to ask for a repair on frames, you will leave mortified. With all the choices out there I would choose elsewhere. BTW. After 2 pairs of glasses I have not been happy with the vision in either. Pros: Nice surroundings Cons: some hostile staff, inefficient , don't trust prescription, lousy service, if you get it. more
