Fantastic Salon! 12/13/2010

I went to Salon Dacota last summer for the first time and had my hair cut by Erica. She was really great and listened to what I wanted, but also gave me advice based on how I wanted my hair to look. I usually don't go to a salon more than once because I can never find someone who cuts my hair well, but I will definitely be returning to Erica! more

Great Stylist 12/12/2010

I made an appointment off of the reviews that I read on Citysearch. I was not disappointed. My stylist was Bobbi. I have never had a stylist that actually sit down and talked with me in length prior to even touching my hair. He used all the information that he obtained to give me the best cut and style I have ever had, and it is a style that I can manage. He gave me lots of tips on styling my hair to get the salon look. I am naturally grey and do not wish to change that. He is the only stylist that I have ever had that did not want to color my hair. I live approx. 2 hours away but travel to St. Louis on business on a regular basis, and I will always add an appt. with Bobbi to that travel day. The Salon atmosphere was great, had the best and most relaxing shampoo I have ever had. Thanks more

I have a bad habit of hitting random hair cut factories for a cheap and quick cut. I am always dsgusted with the quality of the cut. more

Excellent Salon 11/30/2010

I decided to go to this Salon based on the good reviews i read here and on other sites. I made my appointment with Derrick, as his name was mentioned several times. I am so thankful for giving this place a try. I have never walked out of a salon totally satisfied with my experience before! The atmosphere was unique with earth tones, vintage, and Asian themes. The front desk lady was very nice, she offered me something to drink while i sat and waited, although i think i just waited only 1 minute before Derrick was ready for our consultation, he took the time to sit with me and just discuss my hair, my likes and dislikes, the products i use, etc. It was the first time any stylist had done this for me. then I had my hair washed, and it was the best wash ever! He gave me a very nice head massage and the shampoo had a very cooling tinkling feeling. Amazing. the entire time he chatted with me, and educated me on so many things about hair care and products. He is like an encyclopedia for hair care. Then the cut. He did an amazing job, and I walked out of there looking 10x better than when i walked in. Very happy with the service and the products. I purchased Eufora shampoo and conditioner. and they are amazing to my hair. Couldn't be more pleased with my experience. more

Salon Dacota in Ballwin,MO 11/29/2010

I feel totally lucky I actually ended up in this salon.I was only looking for a place close to my home,but what I got was just great and excellent service.I have been to other salons,but this is probably the friendliest spot with the nicest people who work there ! .I got some highlights and a haircut from Valla and just loved it ! I won't be thinking twice before I go there again. more

Great Salon in Ballwin 11/27/2010

Being new to the area, I was hesitant to get my hair cut by someone new. I was very pleased with my entire experience at Salon Dacota. Erica did a great job listening and advising me on what to do, then gave me a great cut! I will definately go back to her. You also get a paraffin hand treatment, and a wonderful head massage while she washes and conditions your hair. You don't need to be hesitant to try out this salon. You'll love it. more

Great Salon in Unexpected Location 11/23/2010

I moved to St Louis 3 years ago and have tried a number of salons in the area but had yet to find a good one. After reading the reviews on City Search I made an appointment with Trish. I had a great experience and was surprised at how nice and professional the salon was since I had passed it numerous times and hadn't given it a second thought. Trish was fantastic and the salon has a great atmosphere. It was very busy and all of the staff were really nice. I got highlights and a cut that have grown out well, and I felt that Trish really listened to what I wanted. I will definitely be returning. I also love the Eufora products that Trish recommended. The salon definitely makes you feel pampered with the complimentary hand treatment and the wine! I finally have found a salon in St Louis that lives up to my expectations. more

I was looking for a new stylist and a friend recommended Salon Dacota as the place to go. I saw Erica and she did a great job. She took plenty of time to talk with me before getting started to know exactly what I wanted. The salon has a nice atmosphere and I love the products they use there. I will definitely be making another appt. with Erica and will recommend her to all! more

I have been a loyal client of Salon Dacota for many years because of the great experience. Chrissy is a fantastic stylist who understands my needs and delivers every time. We work together to refine my color for the seasons and she frequently offers suggestions on how to increase volume of my hair. And, the complimentary paraffin wax and beverage at the end of a long work day are bonus items. more

pleasant experience 11/18/2010

Saw the reviews and decided to give Salon Dacota a try. Made an appt with Jesse. She took the time to listen to what I wanted as well as all the quirks about my hair. Shampoo/ scalp massage was wonderful; hand treatment was a delightful surprise. Got a great haircut. It was just what I wanted, plus Jesse made some suggestions that were spot on. Overall, a very pleasant experience. I have already made my next appt! more

I really enjoyed my visit to Salon Dakota. The customer service was awsome and they took the time to know what I wanted, The shampoo and conditioner felt great. Best experience in U.S. 11/17/2010

being from a different country made it hard for me to find the perfect salon. a few years back my now mother-in-law took me to a hair salon chain here in ballwin. i thought it was the worst experience ever. the salon was dirty, hair was everywhere, the girl didn´t know what she was doing, she was uncoordinated, and didn´t know where her hair cutting equipment was. after that experience i always waited until i am back in my home country to get a hair cut. i usually flew home about every 4-5 months!\r because i won´t be able to go home for a while now i started searching for a hair salon here. i actually drove by Salon Dacota, re-searched it online, and read so many good reviews about it, that i decided to give it a try. and i was not disappointed at all. \r the staff is really friendly, and everybody did a great job there. i had a great experience, and i am sure that i will continue going there. just walking in already gives you a nice and warm welcoming feeling. my hairstylist bobbi did a really good job, and i am happy with the end result. i am glad that i found this salon, and i definetly recommend it to everybody who is looking for a friendly,and professional team.\r you won´t regret it! more

Great Haircut and I'll be back for Color 11/14/2010

I was referred by a friend to try a different salon because she just loved going to Trish at Salon Dacota. although I was not really looking for someone new to do my hair I remained opened to her suggestion. I could not be more satisfied that I tried someone new...Trish was extremely committed to listening and offering me the best possible service she could provide. She asked a lot of questions about what I liked and what I disliked about my previous haircut and was I able to style it like I wanted to...NO ONE had ever asked me those questions before....I was able to let her know exactly what i was looking for before she ever began. She listened to everything I said including my allergies and gave me an excellent hair cut that didn't remove all my length and allowed me to style it just like I like..... Thanks to a pleasant first experience I will go back for Color when I am due.. The salon is extremely comfortable and very clean...The the staff was truly friendly, caring and willing to address my needs ..... With that said I loved the experience and will be back....Thanks!! more

Referred by a friend and glad I went. Needed someone to understand what I wanted in color and cut and Trish did a fantastic job showing me what my color truly is as well as taking the time to explain why. I moved to st louis in oct of 2009. I have naturally curly hair and was so afraid to let anyone touch it. i saw salon dacota online and decided to try it out! Derrek is amazing! i don't think words can describe my experience at the salon! not only was he amazing with color but he also cut my hair and i loved it! the salon is nice and everyone there is very welcoming! the products from eufora are amazing! i have very course hair and i love love love them! thanks for everything guys! i have been back two times and have made my next appointment! amazing! tara more

Great Salon Experience 11/11/2010

I tried the salon for the first time after hearing about it from parents on my daughter's soccer team. The decor and staff helped to make it a relaxing experience. My stylist was friendly and helped guide my decisions as I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted done. I did want information on products and received recommendations but did not feel pressured to buy. I scheduled my next visit before I left. I received many compliments and gladly passed on the name of the salon after being asked by many. more

I had a black tie dinner to go to and hadn't given much thought to my hair until the last minute. (my bad!) I took a chance on calling a salon to see if they had a cancellation. Salon Dacota was a name I was familiar with so I gave it a shot. more

First time customer 11/4/2010

So we just moved to Missouri and i thought i would get my haircut and looked up Good salons in google and got tons of great reviews so thought why not give it a try.....\r \r First impression, walked in was a nice atmosphere...lady greeted me and sat down. Then i got my hair washed which was really relaxing.\r \r Then the haircut, we sat and discussed the type of haircut I wanted, and let me tell you I dont know if I got everything across but the image of my haircut in mind was different then what i got.\r \r I was not thrilled because it was a lot shorter and figured even if i say something they cant do anything about it! Later talked to a friend who said they do a crisping after the cut. I called and told the lady I didnt like my cut but had not said so at the time.\r \r She was atleast nice and suggested i come in and they will do the crisping even though its been 3 weeks.Getting my cut again this week and hoping for better results! more
