Best

I finally found a Pet Resort that is perfect for Tristan. We've tried 3 different boarding facilites in the past 2 years and I wasn't pleased because Tristan would be sick or sad ...

Worst

After leaving our two small dogs here for one night, we picked them up with a missing nail and a scratched eye. I had to call and check on my dogs to get the news about the nail,...

Wonderful customer service and boarding 12/5/2010

One of the hardest things about moving to a new area is finding excellent care for your pet when you are travelling out of the area. We have an energetic 4 year old dog that is truly a member of our family and I was determined to find a quality daycare and boarding facility for him. My search lead me to Rover Oaks and I couldn't be happier. The excellent customer service (especially in the reservation department...thanks, Toni!) and the caring attention that is given to Duke provides me with a total sense of comfort while I am away. He returns home relaxed and tired but is always eager to return to his "home" away from home. Thanks, Rover Oaks! more

Great Daycare, Boarding, and Grooming 11/29/2010

I have had the best experiences with Rover Oaks. I completely trust the staff and facility with the care for my dog. We have used their day care, boarding, and grooming services and were satisfied with everything. My dog attends day care 1-2 times a week, when picked up she is always happy and excited after clearly having a good day with the other dogs and staff, thanks Pat! I love the pics of my dog and stories about her throughout the day. more

I love the pics of my dog and stories about her throughout the day. The reservation staff for boarding is very accommodating in explaining the way things work with charges, the flexible drop-off/pick-up times, and any additional options (like day care). We had been on the waiting list for a holiday and were promptly called when a space opened up, thanks Toni! My dog returns from boarding happy and healthy, which is reassuring after a stressful trip. I have also used their nail trimming services, which were great and convenient during her stay. I completely recommend Rover Oaks to anyone that asks! more

Only Place I Will Board my Dogs! 11/16/2010

I have two rescue Golden's who board and attend Doggie Day care at Rover Oaks. Prior to finding Rover Oaks we tried several places. We had some "ok" experiences and some very bad experiences. However, I never found anything that made me feel like my dogs REALLY wanted to be there. My attitude was always "this will do" if we have to leave them. My dogs LOVE Rover Oaks - which tells me they are doing something right. When I leave them there is NO separation anxiety - in fact as soon as I turn down Bellfort my dogs are going crazy in the car because they can't wait to get there. When we get there their tails are wagging and they are VERY excited to be there always. more

Very professional... 4/3/2010

I boarded my dog here for a weekend. They have a big staff and individuals there are professional and friendly. They will ask you if there is anything (concerns) they need to know about your dog and if you don't bring your own dog food, they provide them with a nutritious diet. Pros: Professional, clean, friendly Cons: Costs, keeps your credit card on file more

I boarded my dog here for a weekend. They have a big staff and individuals there are professional and friendly. They will ask you if there is anything (concerns) they need to know about your dog and if you don't bring your own dog food, they provide them with a nutritious diet. I like that they have Sunday hours to pick up your dog for no extra cost, many places do not offer this service. However, this place is more expensive than other places, so it works out the same. I would use them more if they had a weekly rate as when I go on vacations, it is usually for one week. Otherwise, it is way too expensive to board my dog here for a week. I am deducting a star, because I do not like that they require that you keep a credit card on file even after you leave. I asked if there is anyway to remove my credit card on file, and the lady promptly tells me "NO" and that my information is secure. How does she know that 100%? She doesn't. So it kind of irked me that she would not honor my request. Pros: Professional, clean, friendly Cons: Costs, keeps your credit card on file more

Experts who care 2/21/2010

I was one of Rover Oaks first customers several years ago. As my dog aged, the staff adapted to him and ensure that as a young dog he received plenty of play time and as an older dog he received good TLC and quiet cuddle time. Every person on staff loves animals, and it shows. Pros: Superb customer service and follow-through Cons: Limited Hours more

Every person on staff loves animals, and it shows. Only downside: limited hours. It's hard to to meet a 6 p.m. pick-up when working full time. Otherwise, my current dog would go to doggie day care more often. Pros: Superb customer service and follow-through Cons: Limited Hours more

True professionals in dog training 10/1/2009

We have worked with Dean and Charla for several months. First, a word of caution about other dog trainers. Your dog has a window of opportunity when he or she is young to learn the essentials of good, social behavior. Once that window closes, retraining is difficult. We made the mistake of using :supermarket" trainers early and they were inexperienced for the types of issues our dog was having. It ended up being a huge waste of money, and our problems remained. So . . . . if you want the job done right, you have to go to real professionals, and that's what Charla and Dean at Rover Oaks are. Both of them have real experience in dog training and have worked with service animals, etc. We have had many weeks of experience with both of them and found them to be consistently patient and intelligent in their approach to our dog. I think their proces are definately the "market" rate, and not more expensive than others despite what you might think from the label "pet resort." In fact, you will waste far more money on useless devices and poor training if you go elsewhere. Pros: Expertise, patience, amazing faciliites Cons: full schedule, so call early more

Excellent Boarding and Daycare! 9/1/2009

I have been taking my dog to Rover Oaks for years to board and recently started her with Doggie Daycare. I don't usually write reviews but felt it's important to tell anyone who reads this about a remarkable job they did taking care of my 5.5-year old dog back in August.\r \r As I was walking into the store, carrying more than I should, my dog was so energetic to get inside that I accidentally slammed the door on her paw. It gashed her VERY badly, and she was bleeding all over the place. I was in tears upset about leaving her but I had to catch a flight and they said they would take her to the vet if needed and would watch her. Since I've used them for so long, I trusted them and left, as hard as it was.\r \r I called back in between flights and found out not only were they watching her, they kept her in the office with them to really monitor her and give her special attention. I was not expecting that and they told me she was doing great and no need to take her to the vet afterall sin more

Rover Oaks Pet Resort-Houston is the best I've been to. 8/29/2009

I'm very particular when it comes to my pet but Rover Oaks was awesome. I was a little skeptical because of the bad review written below by "Veronica C." but figured there were enough good reviews for me to at least visit the place. I immediately was greeted with friendly staff and was offered a tour. I asked several questions about the safety of my pet and they were answered in a very caring manner. I felt very comfortable leaving him there and booked the dates. They had to put us on a wait list for a weekend but within a few days we were called and offered the spot. Our dog was very happy and healthy when we got him back and we've used Rover Oaks several times since then for Grooming, training and boarding. 5 stars for all three. Overall appearance is clean and looks like a fancy hotel. I'm glad I didn't let one bad review keep me from going in for a tour or our dog wouldn't have a home away from home like he does now. more

They truly LOVE animals!! 8/26/2009

For those of us with furry children, and you know who you are, there is nothing more concerning than having to leave town and wondering if your child will be well taken care of while you are gone. I've been known to drive 5 hours just to drop off my dog with my mother so that he would be with people he knows and get the love and attention he deserves. Pros: Great Facilities; Caring and Attentive Staff Cons: Your dog may not miss you much more

ROVER OAKS ---- THUMBS UP FROM MY 4 KIDS -- THE BEST 8/26/2009

To most of us, our 4-legged companions are much like our children or grandchildren. We, as pet owners, would not leave ?our kids? with just anyone, be it, daycare, boarding, training or grooming. Our family, including our 3 ?kids? (doggies), have been very satisfied customers of Rover Oaks Pet Resort for over 7 years. I look to my ?kids? to tell me how happy they are at Rover Oaks. When my car exits the freeway at Kirby, the ?kids? start howling, and, by the time we pull into the driveway at Rover Oaks, everyone within a mile knows we have arrived. To me, our doggies will give their own recommendation and thumbs up with a ?fierce? wagging of tails and a happy greeting to every staff member. Pros: HAPPY CAMPERS......GREAT STAFF.......GREAT FACILITY more

My Dog Loves Rover Oaks 8/26/2009

I have been taking my awesome dog to Rover Oaks since she was a puppy. First we did a one month training session, where she stayed at Rover Oaks and spent the month being trained. She was a crazy lab puppy and they did a great job with her. We board her there whenever we go on a trip and she cannot wait to go. But what my dog looks forward to the most is Doggie Day Camp. I work all the time, so twice a week I drop her off for the day and she gets to play outside all day with her "friend dogs." The dogs are screened for temperment before they are even allowed into Day Camp, which alleviated my fear that she would be playing with some dog that is rough and out of control. She loves it so much that we cannot say the words Rover Oaks at home unless we are really planning to take her there - she gets so excited just hearing those words. The quaility of the treatment of our dog is incredible. Everyone knows who she is and when I drop her off I always feel like they think my dog is special. I cannot imagine taking my dog somewhere else!! Pros: my dog comes home happy after every visit Cons: It is very popular so you have schedule boarding early more

ROVER OAKS ---- THUMBS UP FROM MY 4 KIDS -- THE BEST 8/25/2009

My ?kids? go to day camp with all the other doggies their size, and they learn how to play with others, share the water bowl and the toys. Rover Oaks has one of the best daycamp?s in Houston because the dogs have a huge enclosed area to run and play. The day care staff are so very attentive and protective of each and every pet in their care, and they make sure that everyone in class is loved on and made to feel special. Some weekends, ?our kids? need an overnight vacation from mommy and daddy, which has made Rover Oaks their home away from home. From the time they arrive to board, the staff makes the ?kids? feel special. The professionalism of Rover Oaks starts with the front desk?s attention to detail at check-in, which is amazing, with food and other special instructions being taken. Our kids stay in the bunkhouse, but the after hours staff is phenomenal. They always make you feel that your ?kids? are super special receiving a bunch of attention and loving. I don?t feel guilty leaving the kids on Holidays, because they get very special Holiday treats and Holiday attention. This attention is what makes Rover Oaks ?heads and tails? above other facilities. This is also why it is hard to get a reservation. In fact, Holiday reservations are booked a year in advance. Our family now has a new addition; a 15 week old puppy. The puppy will follow his brothers and sister to Rover Oaks where he will go through their Board and Train program. Rover Oaks is like a Camp that you register for when your kids are born. Over the years, some of the staff has changed, but the training, loving and caring attitude of every staff member has not changed. The facility is always immaculate and never smells, no matter time of day, and their doors are always open for a tour. Our ?kids? truly believe that Rover Oaks Pet Resort is the best boarding, training, doggie daycare, and grooming in Houston. Pros: HAPPY CAMPERS......GREAT STAFF.......GREAT FACILITY more

The staff all obviously love animals and they make sure that everything my dog wants and needs is available. He's always happy and healthy when I get home. I've used the grooming services as well and with a bearded collie, you need a GOOD groomer. They did a great job and left absolutely no nicks or cuts. I highly recommend Rover Oaks to anyone who loves your pet. Pros: Great Facilities; Caring and Attentive Staff Cons: Your dog may not miss you much more
