We needed a cesspool checked (and eventually drained). Roto Rooter has a long service history as a plumber and cesspool service on Long Island, so we decided to try them out. They came quickly after a call, cleaned the main line, and gave a quote for the cesspool draining and installing drain pipes. After calling them back, they came within a few hours and finished the job that evening. Work was fast, went according to the quote and description, and we have nothing to complain about regarding their work and professionalism. The price was not the cheapest but it was not excessively higher than the cheap quotes, and with a cesspool we figured we didn't want a cheap no-name service. All in all, a solid service call. I live on Long Island but work within the confines of NYC. I just recently retired from the NYPD. There has been several instances where I responded to calls for service when homeowners had disputes with plumbers and contractors. And the bulk of these calls are when the plumber or contractor dosent live up to or provide the services requested or promised, and you can see the arrogance of the contractor/plumber. It just makes you appreciate Long Island more because the services provided are higher quality and the worker more pleasant and knowledgeable. The services provided by Rotor-Rooter Farmingdale NY and Frank the Technican exceeded all expections. Frank seemed knowlegeable, concerned, and concientious. He responded within the time I was told, diagnosed the problem explained it to me and solved it. He took the added preaution of actually placing foot protectors on his work shoes so as to ensure the cleanlieness of the inside of the house.He was able to make a homeowners problem seem less stressful more

My washing machine drain pipe was overflowing, basement ceiling totally ruined and this was after a local plumbing company replaced pipes but never snaked clean. This morning after finding a back up in the basement bathroom with a retched smell that was what can i say, you can only imagine. It was quite gag sickening . I called Roto-Rooter on the advise of my neighbor . My phone call was immediately answered by a very helpful Chelsea, she had her guys over to us within a couple of hours . Tim was extremely professional and quite knowledgeable in quickly and effectively sorting out our nightmare of a problem. These days to find a decent plumber in Long Island and I speak from experience is quite hard to come by. I can't believe how amazing the service was that I received from Roto-Rooter. They have to be the best Plumber on Long Island. I had a leak in my kitchen near the Dishwasher. I originally called another plumber, They were telling me that they believed that it was a busted pipe and that it would cost $189 for a leak evaluation. I live in a condo and felt it was important to contact my management company as if it was a busted pipe they are responsible. The Plumber told me that f i called later he can come back. He charged me $49.99 for the visit. My condo told me that they will reimburse me if it was a pipe but I need to get them back to find out who is responsible. They made an appointment for 3 days later. not the same day as I was told. The next day that leak got really bad. I called Roto-Rooter. The plumber, Steve showed up. He was pleasant and professional. He showed up in less than 1 hour. He found the problem right away. It was my Dishwasher that was bad. But there was a valve under the sink that I missed. It fed the waster to the dishwasher. He was able to shut that and the leak was gone. While he was there, he discovered another leak under the sink. He tightened that real good, and there has been no leak since. I am so grateful for Roto-Rooter. I will be using them from now on. The best part is when he told me that since it was an easy solution, he reduced his bill from $215.00 down to just $75.00. On Wednesday November 30th we discovered that water was backing up in our laundry room through the washing machine exit pipe and also coming up our utility sink. We immediately rolled up our pants, got the wet-vac out and started panicking. Not so much over the water back-up, but we knew this would cost us. With times being tight (and I will not go into our sad stories), my loving husband tried his best to fix the problem. Well, to make a long story short he couldn't. Great mason, lousy plumber lol. Next day I went into action to find someone to fix it. I have to admit because funds are low I attempted to find a cheap way out. After reading reviews online on these places I got very nervous. Having remembered my mothers recent call to Roto-Rooter I figured lets go there. Well, I had forgotten I had indeed used them back in 1997. Ruby, the nice lady who answered the call immediately reminded me of the occasion, told me she had all my information and that a qualified ""plumber"" would be here within 2 hours. Five minutes later a nice gentleman called me from their office to tell me that Alfred was on his way and would be here within 30 to 45 minutes. He indeed showed up within the hour and went to work. All I can say is that I was extremely satisfied with not only his knowledge and how he resolved our issue (blockage in the main house pipe), but his professional conduct and most pleasant personality was most appreciated. To think I almost called some fly-by-night company to save money. problem with toilet on saturday am 11/26/2011 called roto-rooter plumbers on long island @ 9am-EXTREMELY pleasant alot of knowledge and within the hour they were at my house-even calling to let me know they were almost there!! you dont find service like that anymore!!
